Very clean comfortable room. A small fridge would’ve been nice but we were only there one night so it wasn’t a big deal. Bed was super comfortable and room was bright and airy. Restaurant BluMar is on site. We didn’t have time to eat there but it was crowded upon our return at night and it became more of a club with DJ. We heard music thumping in our room but it wasn’t so bad to disturb our sleep.

The location is great for walking around downtown. Close to shops, restaurants and a quick drive to the beach. I came here off season and it was chilly but during the summer you could easily ride a bike over to the beach. The room was clean, comfortable and very Hamptons feeling. Parking on site which was nice and I highly recommend the coffee shop on the corner. During the summer sitting on the big front porch would be nice. The water in the shower was a bit tricky to get the right temp but I loved the soaps. Definitely would stay here again.

Our room had a particular closeness to the Main Street and restaurant which made for lot of noise until about 2 am. The parking area was separated from the main hotel door by a drainage area with nowhere to cross except through the mud. The piles of chairs around the foul smelling dumpster in the parking area did not feel welcoming. Room was quite spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Nothing can be done concerning the noise but the parking area would be easy to fix with a bit of attention.

We were looking for a quick overnight in the East End, and the Harpoon House exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was spacious (a suite!) and well-appointed, blending the charm of the original 1648 (!) building with modern amenities and furnishings. We didn't take advantage of the on-property restaurant (formerly Blu Mar), but the menu - by acclaimed chef Rocco DiSpirito - looked excellent, if a bit pricey. Location was ideal, within easy walking distance of all Main Street shops and restaurants, and less than a mile to the beach. And, although things were a bit quieter than in the height of summer - not a bad thing! - we loved being out there for the fall harvest season, with wineries and farms in full swing. All-in-all, our stay at the Harpoon House made for a perfect fall weekend in the Hamptons - highly recommended.

Eclectic, small guest house. The carpeting definitely needed an upgrade but the room was clean very spacious, large bathroom bed was very comfortable. There was a covered deck with large couches which was good for lounging. Wonderful location right in the middle of the town.

Our room was clean and cozy. The location is great - easy to walk into town. Not great if you need it to be accessible - lots of stairs and no elevator. There isn’t a lobby - it is a converted house. I would definitely stay there again.

No one to check us in, paper thin walls with psychotic neighbors, sheets had dozens of holes in them, NO bars, cafes, or restaurants open, parking lot a sheet of ice & a death trap to get to rhe front door, super steep & narrow stairs up to room. Woest stay of my life & I travel a LOT!

Terrible bed mattress, too soft and saggy. Had backache next day. Wasp in the room. No one apparently checked. Had to kill the wasp with a pillow. No one at the desk during check in or check out. Had to call and wait for someone to show up. Room was up steep steps.

We were told to check in at a restaurant that was closed, but we decided to try going in the house and there was a small reception deal and a number to call. The host answered immediately and we were quickly taken to our room. The room was very inviting, clean, and elegant. My only complaint is the bathroom was freezing cold! A small space heater in NY in February would have made all the difference! The room had a great heating system, but leaving the bathroom door wide open all the time let in a lot of light in the early morning, and didn’t really help with the temperature inside the bathroom.

The property seems to be in transition. My suite was large with a new bathroom, mid level quality, towels and bed linens were fresh and new as was the bedroom furniture. Very noisy with any minor movement in the hall or adjoining rooms. Not good for a light sleeper. Location is excellent if you like to be in the center of town. Staff was friendly.

There was no staff support. The place was almost deserted. The bathroom was not emptying the water quickly. There was no iron and ironing board in the room. I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Although difficult to find, the location was very central. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Celine on the desk was helpful and friendly. A great two night stay.

The location is great and the room is decent. However, during our stay the fire alarm went off at 3:45 AM and we sat outside for 45 mins. I called 911 to get the police and fire to arrive and then me and other guests worked with the Fire Department to identify the faulty circuit breaker and understand the repair. The management company or owner never showed up! To make it worse, the next morning the mgmt team said they heard something about a fire alarm and then handed me by $1200 bill for 2 nights. Worst service ever.

The people at Harpoon House are greedy and cold. I was hospitalized a month ago in a VA hospital and even tried to email and call repeatedly to cancel 45 days before after my poor diagnosis. The people at Harpoon House are greedy and cold. I was hospitalized a month ago in a VA hospital and even tried to email and call repeatedly to cancel 45 days before after my poor diagnosis. Terrible bed mattress, too soft and saggy. Had backache next day. Wasp in the room. No one apparently checked. Had to kill the wasp with a pillow. No one at the desk during check in or check out. Had to call and wait for someone to show up. Room was up steep steps.

The location is great for walking around downtown. Close to shops, restaurants and a quick drive to the beach. I came here off season and it was chilly but during the summer you could easily ride a bike over to the beach. The room was clean, comfortable and very Hamptons feeling. Parking on site which was nice and I highly recommend the coffee shop on the corner. During the summer sitting on the big front porch would be nice. The water in the shower was a bit tricky to get the right temp but I loved the soaps. Definitely would stay here again.

We were looking for a quick overnight in the East End, and the Harpoon House exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was spacious (a suite!) and well-appointed, blending the charm of the original 1648 (!) building with modern amenities and furnishings. We didn't take advantage of the on-property restaurant (formerly Blu Mar), but the menu - by acclaimed chef Rocco DiSpirito - looked excellent, if a bit pricey. Location was ideal, within easy walking distance of all Main Street shops and restaurants, and less than a mile to the beach. And, although things were a bit quieter than in the height of summer - not a bad thing! - we loved being out there for the fall harvest season, with wineries and farms in full swing. All-in-all, our stay at the Harpoon House made for a perfect fall weekend in the Hamptons - highly recommended.

Eclectic, small guest house. The carpeting definitely needed an upgrade but the room was clean very spacious, large bathroom bed was very comfortable. There was a covered deck with large couches which was good for lounging. Wonderful location right in the middle of the town.

Our room was clean and cozy. The location is great - easy to walk into town. Not great if you need it to be accessible - lots of stairs and no elevator. There isn’t a lobby - it is a converted house. I would definitely stay there again.

Very clean comfortable room. A small fridge would’ve been nice but we were only there one night so it wasn’t a big deal. Bed was super comfortable and room was bright and airy. Restaurant BluMar is on site. We didn’t have time to eat there but it was crowded upon our return at night and it became more of a club with DJ. We heard music thumping in our room but it wasn’t so bad to disturb our sleep.

Even though I was on expenses, hotels in Southampton are ridiculously expensive in-season. What-the-market-will-bear, etc., but still... Otherwise, charming, comfortable, with a good shower. Very friendly and helpful guy at the desk. Tiny kvetches: No cream (powdered would have been acceptable) in the room with the coffeemaker, and no coffee made in the lobby (could have used some for an early morning departure). Given what's available in So. Hampton in August, a good choice.

Cute place in the heart of Southampton. A little bit bread and breakfast (minus the breakfast) mixed with boutique hotel. The room was large, nicely decorated and clean and they have a lovely porch. Within walking distance to everything in town. Highly recommend.

Perfect location close to Main St & use of bicycles to get to the beach was fantastic. Staff were so helpful, room impeccably clean & comfy. The House is old with old world charm. The exterior gardens & surrounds could be a little better maintained. All up, would love to come back & stay again.

Very bad experience. We left the hotel since the bed was terrible. We escalated to onsite manager and she acknowledged the bed condition and mentioned they had ordered new matrices. However, we had to drive back to NYC since it was not possible to sleep at all. We escalated to Expedia and requested a full refund. There was also an issue with temperature - room was extremely cold and manager suggested to provide us with a heater. However, we didn’t take this option and drove back home. We cancelled another stay we had planned at this hotel at the end of August. We do not have plans to go back after such terrible experience.
