The resort itself was beautiful and the staff were excellent. I went for my birthday with my husband. The first room we had was a junior swim out room. At first glance it was fine but after settling in we noticed a very foul sewage smell coming from the bathroom, the refrigerator was leaking and there was a picture over our headboard that had broken glass which fell onto our bed while we were sleeping. I was supposed to get a birthday banner on the door and a cake but didn’t recieve it until after going to the supervisor and requesting a new room and the proper amenities. We ended up getting a new room which was better but it took two days to get my birthday banner and cake as well as the shower backed up everytime we used it. We had housekeeping disturbing us at 5 and 6 o’clock in the evening about cleaning the room and refreshing our towels almost as if they were expecting us to be gone so they could come into our room while we were gone which most activities and dining was in the evening. We also noticed that the plastic cups we recieved for our towels almost go drinks were being washed and reused to the point the words were rubbed off. The food was not good. The only place that was good was the Italian restaurant. Our oxtails at Sugar cane were so tough we couldn’t eat them and Martha’s market was okay but most of the food was bland. I don’t think we would be returning to this resort. Lovely staff but a lot of things need to be fixed.
