We stayed at Mestizo for three nights and it was amazing! We had a late flight in and they helped me arrange transportation from the airport. They have a gate that they lock up during overnight hours and have someone staffing it at all times. We had early morning pick ups and late drop offs from tours and excursions and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was amazing and they always had jugs of drinking water available for us to fill our bottles. The room was really clean and we were far back from the street so it was always really quiet. Couldn’t recommend a better place to stay!

I enjoyed my week's stay at the Mestizo. Before my arrival, Cristofer contacted me via "Whatsapp" and asked if I needed anything prior to my arrival, including transportation from the airport. He kept in contact even after check-in and throughout the week. He was very attentive and helpful. Breakfast every morning was the highlight of the day. The dishes were delicious and plentiful. Evelin served us most of the mornings and was so diligent in keeping our coffee cups full and ensuring optimal service. The hotel is situated amongst great restaurants and shopping. It has a lovely rooftop where you can sit and drink a cocktail while enjoying the view of the volcano. Some things to note is that street parking is hard to come by if you are not used to city parking, but I had no problem finding a space near the hotel. Overall, the Mestiza experience was more than was expected and the hospitality and warmth of the staff was a very nice experience.

Mestizo was a gorgeous hotel. It had a nice rooftop to hang out on. It was centrally located. Your room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. The breakfast was delicious. And all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Plan to go back again.

The service at the Mestizo Hotel was outstanding, the staff incredibly kind, attentive and overly hospitable. They even had breakfast ready for us at departure, very early by 6am. The property is gorgeous, it's such a beautiful hotel. The security/surveillance was very appreciated, the gate/door is locked at night for safety, and all you have to do is knock to be let in. The free breakfast was 10/10, delicious and plenty of options to choose from. The lattes were phenomenal, and the barista even walked me through their coffee process. We really enjoyed our stay, and the location was optimal, walking distance to super hip coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. There were also a lot of bars and lounges very close but the rooms were very quiet. The free welcome drink was absolutely gorgeous, I don't drink alcohol so I had the mock tail version and it was delicious. This is the place to stay in Antigua. We will be returning to the Mestizo! Thank you staff for being so kind, wonderful and make our stay exceptional.

Mestizo is a very charming property . It’s perfectly located to city center , restaurants , travel agencies and landmarks . The staff are very helpful and nice not mention the room is comfortable . Theirs rooftop has great view of the volcanoes, great for relaxation . I will definitely stay at Mestizo Hotel Angitua again .

Mestizo is absolutely stunning! The design and attention to detail is gorgeous including the rooftop area. The chef here is amazing!! The breakfast (especially the chilaquiles, highly recommend!) was the best we have ever had. For dinner we had to try and the bolognese pasta dish we couldn’t get enough of, we ordered 2 more! The owner was so nice and helpful and would help us plan our days along with the very helpful Concierge. The beds are super comfortable, and the property is very quiet and cozy. This location was perfect!! You walk out and you are a few blocks from the Arch and Center, and walking distance to all the best restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel!!

The property is beautiful and very spacious. The roof offers a beautiful view of the volcano. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is interesting and tasty. We received a welcome gift of a cocktail /drink of our choice. The customer service is excellent. There is an in-house spa which makes it easy to relax on site. The only drawback is that parking is about six blocks away which isn't bad if you're into walking. However, anyone who is handicapped will have to be dropped off directly at the hotel. Overall would definitely come back better than the Marriott in Cayala.

I felt the property was safe and quiet. Cristofer communicated with me very well prior to my arrival. My room had a musty, unpleasant smell, but other than that my stay at Mestizo was nice. The food here was delicious!

We loved staying at this boutique hotel. It's unique and quaint. We got to chat with the staff and felt safe, they would close the doors at night for added security. Jorge the night recepcionist was cordial and professional. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms were lovely. The bathroom was too small and the shower liner was cheap and not long enough. Nonetheless, this is the most gorgeous space there is, staying here felt like a luxurious dream. The TV had youtube, netflix, plenty of things to watch. There was a specific lovely smell to the hotel. The beds were comfortable and super soft and gentle, each room had it's own A/C. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

Nos encantó la experiencia en hotel Mestizo, el hotel es divino, muy acogedor y una bella decoración. El personal muy amable y servicial. La habitación estaba muy limpia y la cama comodisima. El hotel esta en una excelente ubicación, todo nos quedaba bastante cerca caminando. Tienen una oportunidad de mejora en la comunicación ya que el concierge nos escribió antes del viaje para ofrecernos varios servicios que ofrecía el hotel, entre ellos unos masajes pero no nos indicó que serían en otra locación, aun cuando el hotel cuenta con un spa. Nos dio un poco de pena con las señoraa del spa del hotel porque nos equivocamos y les indicamos que ya habíamoa preparado los servicios. También cuentan con servicio de transporte desde y hacia el aeropuerto (con cargo adicional) también nos fue bien con eso.

The hotel is in a good location, the breakfast is very good, the staff is friendly. Something that we didn't like was the bad smell that came out of the bathroom pipes, we notify that problem to the front desk but it couldn't be resolve so we keep the bathroom door close as much as possible. Recommendation; don't use the taxi service of the hotel as they are not punctual, Uber is a better option.

From the moment you step in you will be transported to your room in a maze of historic wonder. Every corner holds an elegant touch of the past. The rooms are ample, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The beds and firm and comfortable with inviting cotton bedding. The stay included breakfast which was a generous portion of your favourite breakfast staples. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I alright know where I will be coming back to on my next trip.

In our trip to Guatemala our first stop was Antigua. It was our first time staying here. We loved our stayed. The room was small, but cozy. My husband loved the hand bidet next to our toilet. The entire hotel is just beautiful all around. Our breakfast included with out stay was delicious 😋 We highly recommend it.

The bed was very comfy, although the comforter was too warm for us. I like that they had a refillable water pitcher in the room which could be refilled in the lobby. The entrance was a little confusing with several other businesses sharing the common space. The only slight draw back was the long wait for the hot water to heat. The location was great!

Había sonido de construcciones que evitaban descansar en las mañanas. El aire acondicionado sería mejor que fuera instalado dentro de la habitación y no con la ventana abierta , aparte que es muy ruidoso pero lo demás estuvo bien, el personal amable y la comida deliciosa

Es un hotel boutique muy bonito. Mi habitación estaba un poco apretada y el baño pequeño pero muy agradable, limpio y la cama cómoda. Hay alguien las 24 hrs en recepción. Me hubiera gustado tener más tiempo para disfrutar del desayuno, empieza a las 8 y mis tours siempre me recogían antes.

The good: - Nicely renovated colonial building, rooms were nicely decorated. Only 5 or 6 rooms - Good breakfast - Really central location in town The not so great: - The rooms are dark (we were on the ground floor), a single window looking into an internal hallway. Lots of noise from passing staff - The hotel has no atmosphere, this could be such a nice hotel, yet everything seems to fall short. The staff is disinterested, the restaurant is dead all day and night, the shop has no staff, the rooftop is empty. The only thing that seemed to work was the spa located inside the hotel, because of reasonably good offers on their massages. - The shower took literally 5 minutes for the hot water to start flowing (we were advised of it at check in to be fair) In sum, the stay was OK, it was just disappointing, this place could be so much better with the right management.

Great hotel and location. The only issue I had is their portable AC with a tube sticks out to an open window. It was odd for a 4 star hotel. Breakfast you have to order from the menu.

Excellent hotel, great location and very friendly staff. Overall great experience, the only thing we struggled with was the kitchen’a loud music. Given that our room was just next to the kitchen their loud music was a bit uncomfortable while in the room, but other than that we had no issues.

We stayed at Mestizo for three nights and it was amazing! We had a late flight in and they helped me arrange transportation from the airport. They have a gate that they lock up during overnight hours and have someone staffing it at all times. We had early morning pick ups and late drop offs from tours and excursions and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was amazing and they always had jugs of drinking water available for us to fill our bottles. The room was really clean and we were far back from the street so it was always really quiet. Couldn’t recommend a better place to stay!

This place is just as pictured! It’s a wonderful location to explore Antigua and the staff is so helpful. Cristofer helped us arrange transportation from Panajachel, transportation to the airport and helped book a massage with a trusted nearby company. Would definitely stay here again!

I cannot say enough positive for things about El Mestizo. If this hotel is in your price point, don’t waste time looking any further. Book now! Staff: We had a problem with a missing piece luggage at drop off. The concierge, Emilio, promptly assisted us and sorted everything out. He was exceptionally helpful and went above & beyond. With Emilio’s help, the transportation company located our missing bag. English/Spanish: the concierge on duty and manager Luis are bilingual. If your Spanish is limited, you’ll be fine. Food: I booked this hotel based on location to the center plaza AND a previous review of the food. My son & I spent four nights here and sampled all but one of the free breakfast offerings on the menu. If you are a foodie, you will appreciate the work of the hotel’s chef. The offerings were both traditional and creative. They do have menus in English if you need one. I did eat one evening meal there. ¡Qué Rico! Definitely book at least one dinner in-house. Accommodations: clean & comfortable. Ambiance: El Mestizo has a super cool vibe. They have blended distinct architecture with a few modern twists. Conclusion: book your room at El Mestizo, you won’t be disappointed.

Great location in Antigua and a good value. We walked everywhere. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The food was wonderful and we loved eating on the rooftop. We hihly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel! The staff were kind, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. Cristofer was helpful from the start of booking this hotel until the end by ensuring we had what we needed. The breakfast options were great, and I looked forward to having the coffee every morning. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a great place to stay! Perfect location and the staff were wonderful. Kelyn helped me the most and she was super sweet and patient even though I pestered her like 100 times lol. She also arranged my transport to and from the airport. The room was very comfortable and the food and rooftop terrace were also great - highly recommend!

Upon checkin the room was not as advertised and so with the assistance of an Expedia chat, the manager said we could forgo our stay and be refunded. When we went to the front desk, Margerita, the manager refused to see us and the desk clerk would not issue the refund. We left anyway and got a room at another hotel. I had to dispute the charge with our credit card company. It was an awful day as neither the hotel nor Expedia would follow thru with what they offered and we had to worry for days about whether or not we would be stuck with a big charge .

The hotel is located just one block from the main plaza and maybe a quarter mile from the mercado central. The arco is walking distance and it’s easy to find a tuk tuk to the mirador. Staff is very nice. Many staff members speak english and the ones who do not are more than helpful. The hotel was clean and they provide and AC unit in the hotter times. Overall would recommend.

Mestizo was a gorgeous hotel. It had a nice rooftop to hang out on. It was centrally located. Your room was thoroughly cleaned everyday. The breakfast was delicious. And all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Plan to go back again.

The bed was very comfy, although the comforter was too warm for us. I like that they had a refillable water pitcher in the room which could be refilled in the lobby. The entrance was a little confusing with several other businesses sharing the common space. The only slight draw back was the long wait for the hot water to heat. The location was great!

Me encantó su estilo colonial, pero a la vez moderno, las habitaciones estaban amplias, cómodas, limpias y muy lindas. El personal fue siempre muy atento, nos ayudaron y atendieron maravilloso, la verdad me sorprendí mucho porque fue mucho mejor de lo que esperaba. Lo recomiendo 100%. Está además muy cerca de la plaza central, el arco de Santa Catalina, las ruinas de la catedral, restaurantes y lugares de interés. Me encantó! Gracias por todo

We loved our stay at Mestizo Antigua! From the prime location 1 block away from central park, the welcome drink, to the ambiance of the whole place we loved it all! They were super accommodating and let us check in early! Staff very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend

El servicio es excelente, todos muy amables. El hotel es muy bonito aunque pequeño. La habitación de muy buen tamaño, cama super cómoda y limpia. El menú es muy limitado pero los platillos son muy ricos.

The service at the Mestizo Hotel was outstanding, the staff incredibly kind, attentive and overly hospitable. They even had breakfast ready for us at departure, very early by 6am. The property is gorgeous, it's such a beautiful hotel. The security/surveillance was very appreciated, the gate/door is locked at night for safety, and all you have to do is knock to be let in. The free breakfast was 10/10, delicious and plenty of options to choose from. The lattes were phenomenal, and the barista even walked me through their coffee process. We really enjoyed our stay, and the location was optimal, walking distance to super hip coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. There were also a lot of bars and lounges very close but the rooms were very quiet. The free welcome drink was absolutely gorgeous, I don't drink alcohol so I had the mock tail version and it was delicious. This is the place to stay in Antigua. We will be returning to the Mestizo! Thank you staff for being so kind, wonderful and make our stay exceptional.

Mestizo is absolutely stunning! The design and attention to detail is gorgeous including the rooftop area. The chef here is amazing!! The breakfast (especially the chilaquiles, highly recommend!) was the best we have ever had. For dinner we had to try and the bolognese pasta dish we couldn’t get enough of, we ordered 2 more! The owner was so nice and helpful and would help us plan our days along with the very helpful Concierge. The beds are super comfortable, and the property is very quiet and cozy. This location was perfect!! You walk out and you are a few blocks from the Arch and Center, and walking distance to all the best restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Mestizo Antigua is a beautiful property located close to everything and the staff are amazing. Only thing that would have made it better is if the restaurant/bar was open later than 5pm. They have a beautiful roof terrace and it would have been great to enjoy drinks/dinner on the rooftop after our daily adventures.

Everything was amazing until the end I would give 5 stars otherwise. I don’t think they liked that I had 20% off for Expedia benefit. After I paid and left a nice tip for the staff. I decided to buy water, they charged me 30 quetzal ( $5USD) so more expensive than a fancy resort. I paid but it was annoying to take advantage of me. Water bottles are a couple of quetzals even the intercontinental in the city doesn’t charge that much for bottled water. Food was excellent both dinner and free breakfast, the place looked a bit lonely for a Saturday but I enjoyed the quiet, bedding was comfortable, parking was free but a good 5-10min walk.

This hotel is in the perfect, walkable location and was close to everything we wanted to see and do. The chocolate shop next door is amazing and definitely worth a visit! The staff was wonderful, friendly, and always willing to help. I especially loved the upgraded keypad entry for the hotel room. Since my friend and I had separate activities planned throughout our stay, it was so convenient not having to worry about sharing or losing a room key. The welcome drinks were delicious, and the hotel helped us arrange a massage and a multi-course dinner, both of which were fantastic experiences. This hotel is in the perfect, walkable location and was close to everything we wanted to see and do. The chocolate shop next door is amazing and definitely worth a visit! The staff was wonderful, friendly, and always willing to help. I especially loved the upgraded keypad entry for the hotel room. Since my friend and I had separate activities planned throughout our stay, it was so convenient not having to worry about sharing or losing a room key. The welcome drinks were delicious, and the hotel helped us arrange a massage and a multi-course dinner, both of which were fantastic experiences. The breakfast options were delicious every day, and the food throughout our stay was outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!
