I think this is a fine place to stay depending on your needs. My family booked this last minute and got a good deal on Expedia so that made it worth it. Pros: The staff were really lovely - super friendly and hospitable. The view of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed the live music by the pool bar and the drinks were excellent. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. Some cons: Our bunk had a very musty smell which we sort of just got used to over the three days. If you are going in the summer you should know that the pool was absolutely FREEZING (in August). I spoke with other guests at the pool about how disappointing that was as you couldn't really enjoy the pool (other than a quick in and out). Also, I would advise that you bring your own pool towels - the pools towels were not much larger than a face towel (they were so small you couldn't even wrap them around a child's body much less an adult's). The hot tub was nice but, unfortunately, if you are traveling with kids under 18 they cannot use it with you. In addition to the $30 a night resort fee, there was a bizarre $7.50 cleaning fee for our room (though the cleaning fee was not a lot, I asked about it as we did not have our room cleaned during our stay and I was told it is standard for every booking with no other explanation - this is the first time in all my travels I have ever seen a "cleaning fee" - why not just add it to the room's total cost? It's just silly). But, all in all, we had a nice time and it suited our needs.

We were staying at one of the off site rooms and we got there earlier than expected. We were just going to wait until 3 to check in but our room was ready way earlier than expected which was a great surprise. The women at the check-in counter were all super sweet and answered any questions we had. The pools were nice and clean. The kayaking is also a great time, and the boy who was in charge of that was also very kind. I’ve stayed with my family at Silver Birches before but this was the first time I went alone with a friend and they made the stay great. Will definitely be back!

The Silver Birches Resort is a beautiful sprawling property with an assortment of accommodations. It is directly on Lake Wallenpaupack. The resort fee includes a variety of activities, multiple pools, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, firepits, etc and breakfast. The breakfast was just ok. More like a "camp" style breakfast. The room was very spacious with a fantastic view of the lake. All the amenities you could think of and more were provided. It's a perfect spot for a family vacation too.

Great night away, love the adult only pool and music on Sunday

We loved the location right on Lake Wallenpaupack, we loved the charming nostalgia of our building. We especially loved the pool and hot tub area and being able to take out kayaks for no extra fee. Perfect couple's getaway!

We will definitely be back!! The service and staff were fantastic, for a lake resort the place is IMMACULATE. Great vibes, great views, pools were sparkling clean, great separation of children and adults for pools, we literally have nothing bad to say. We were sad to leave.

Lovely girls weekends. Staff was attentive, personable and very capable. Rooms/bed/bath were all well appointed and most comfortable. Common areas were also comfortable coffee/tea was always available. View of the lake was perfect. Only slight complaint was parking was a challenge over the weekend but there was a wedding on site and staff immediately moved a personal vehicle so we could park near our room.

Loved coming back after a hike and reading a book on our balcony or down in a chair by the lake. Very relaxing! The nightly sunset champagne toast and fire pits were an added touch. Would definitely return.

Wonderful scenic location on the lake, with boat docks, swimming pools, Saturday afternoon music. Lots of birds and places to walk.

The environment and scenery was amazing! They had doggie treats and such there for the pup when we arrived also. I must say though I wish the cleanliness of the rooms equaled the quality demanding of the price spent on the rooms. The floors had dirt, the sheets were not clean and there was hair in the shower drain. And when we wanted the room cleaned, instead of new sheets they just turned the current dirty sheets over. I also wish communication with the front desk was a little clearer. For example I asked two different people two different times including right before, to use a particular grill to cook my lady and I dinner. I stood there prepping and everything and it wasn’t until I literally touched meat to grill did I get four different people four separate times asking me what I’m doing and who told me that was the grill I could use. Not a big deal because I was allowed to finish cooking, but still a little weird.

We had a wonderful stay at Silver Birches! The room was clean, smelled clean, the bed was comfortable and our view was amazing! Unfortunately for us it rained the whole time but there was tons offered to do if the weather had been better! We only stayed one night bc we were going on a rail bike ride and didn't want to drive home. The next time we visit, we will definitely spend more time and bring our kids! Thanks for a great overnight!

I visited there a month back and had a wonderful stay so I came back. This time it was not. One of the beds had dog hair all over the sheets and the blanket had poop stains. Have pics. If they didn’t change the sheets on that bed what else are they not cleaning? No more rooms available on the property so they sent us 5 1/2 miles up the road to another place that had no amenities and it had a bug infested bathroom. Horrible stay. Could not wait to leave so we checked out early.

All great and the location is awesome with a marina for boats, firepits etc However the room had a persistent musty, moldy odor — that damp, earthy smell typical of mildew. Unfortunately, all of our clothes ended up absorbing the smell as well, which was quite unpleasant.

We enjoyed the gas fireplace and chairs in our suite and the view from our balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative was that the furniture and walls had a few bumps and bruises.

Alot to say and only 1500 characters: * Accommodations assigned to us as Expedia guests were appauling. * Front Office staff refused to change our room after we reported all-night noise from pool equipment & safety lights right next to our "Luxury Suite" & then suddenly found a room when I became less friendly about our bad experience. * Second room in our group also unsatisfactory but Front Office claimed there were no more available rooms & then we observed a vacant room for 2 nights below the room we were moved to. * The property was poorly maintained & deeply understaffed and the staff they did have on duty were all students without anything but the most basic training. No hospitality skills. * The swimming pools were posted as off-limits for 2 of our 3 mornings until almost noon because "there was a problem with the chlorine". The problem was that they put the chlorine into the pool in the morning so of course the levels were too high. * We were made to feel unwelcome when we accidently sat in a cabana at the pool that was only available for $200 extra. Please note: The avg rate we paid was $450/nightx2 rooms x 3 nights which translates to more than $3,000. * Bathroom vents were full of dust/grime & the bathroom shower tile had not been properly cleaned in a long time as there was mildew in the grout. * Guests were freely smoking marijuana around the fire pits that were supposed to be for families & guests to enjoy in the fresh country air. * And on and on...

Friendly staff, beautiful property, easy parking, cleanliness, plenty of fun activities to do at the lake.

The view from my spacious king room was wonderful. I loved the grounds, the pool and hot tub and the firepits. The restaurant is right up the hill, and the registration office was lovely. I plan on going again in August.

Our room was beautiful and we had a great view of the lake from our porch. The staff is first rate and always willing to help. We just loved our stay here!

The staff at Silver Birches is very helpful and accommodating. Our room was newly renovated, though the bright red furniture was not appealing to me. Nor was the extreme smell of FEBREEZE upon entering the room. We were on the bottom floor of an older 2 story building, maybe without much to block sound between floors? - but you could hear all of the 'movement' from above. Overall, not a bad stay. priced well for off-season, new interior, clean, very accommodating staff, beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack.

We have been there multiple times. We love the area. The drawback is there is no live Tv.

Outside property beautiful, plenty of outside seating, staff very friendly. Downside. For the price we paid our room had a chipped floor where someone must have dropped something, plus no Cable TV! No sitting chair in room for reading. Room (4) had two full size beds but one almost to the floor missing a box spring. Paid a lot of money for this room. Very disappointed

One of the recessed ceiling bulbs was burnt out. The two chairs were old and rickety with no seat padding. A new back cover was made and glued to the chair but it was coming off. There was a jacuzzi in the bedroom and a separate bathroom but they only gave you one bar of soap to carry from room to room. A chartreuse board was ordered. They didn’t provide a knife, napkins, or any mustard or condiments. I had a handicap person with me and they only had one handicapped parking spot which was taken. We had to park across the street at the neighboring restaurant. They didn’t have enough parking for all the guests. It was havoc.

We had such an amazing trip and our stay was so quaint and comfortable! The staff was so very accommodating to our late arrival. You have to have the continental breakfast overlooking Lake Wallenpaupack- early morning views over the lake are amazing!

From check in to check out, everyone was so helpful, friendly and accommodating for all of our needs, while we were there. Morning breakfast was delivered to room, and a big healthy one!! Fireplaces in room so cosy. Rooms super clean, and decorated beautifully. Highly recommend. Restaurant on property Outstanding, best onion soup ever!!

Silver Birches was an outstanding/beautiful resort facility even in mid-winter: the lake view was breathtaking no matter what the season! We enjoyed our hike down to the Lake Visitor's Center. The champagne reception at 5pm was a very nice touch!... We felt like we were visiting family away from home. We would love to visit in the summer season. Mark & Mary Helen

It was a very nice stay on a beautiful lakefront property. Good restaurants and hiking are close by. It has everything you need for a quiet get away only two hours from New York City.

Room was super basic. Beds face open to window so felt like little to no privacy. We were offered breakfast delivery and it never even came!

Absolutely loved the lake views, champagne toast at sunset, friendly and helpful staff, dog friendly environment, delicious food at the Dock restaurant and live music! I will definitely be returning!

My partner and I had a good time here. The resort is nice - nothing extravagant but works well for the area. We had a lake front king suite. It's a bit dated but it was clean. The breakfast options were good, however the younger gentleman who set up breakfast was often very slow. He would spend time talking to people or taking room numbers before having all the food prepared and ready. The resort offers kayaks, which we used. It is lakefront and the views are very pretty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

This was our first visit to this region. The area and property was beautiful. The hotel staff was solicitous and the breakfast was very tasty. We had a great time.

Views were amazing- hotel was clean but room was dated. Kids had a blast on the kayaks, paddle boards and canoe. Food was delicious at the restaurant bar and service was spectacular.

Great location, we went for leaf-peeking so did not use many amenities: boats, pool, etc. “Library“ was nice as was complementary evening champagne. Included, delivered breakfast was yogurt, muffins, fruit, juice and egg (hard boiled). Bed was comfortable, our room had been refurbished, so was nice (though we’d heard a few rooms had not been).
