Coastal Villa w Amazing Courtyard - Splash Pad!

This property is a case study in neglect. 1) Dishwasher does not clean or dry the dishes. Dirty and wet at the end of the cycle. 2) The ice maker does not make ice. 3) The stove is so ancient that when you push the button to raise or lower the oven temperature, the whole stove wobbles. And the numbers indicating the temperature setting for the burners are completely worn off. 4) Mold in the showers. 5) Completely dead landscaping at the entrance to the house. 6) Broken and missing baseboards. 7) Broken vertical blinds with the pieces lying on the floor. 8) Cookware that is so old it is completely rusted out. 10) Light fixtures that don't work. 11) Use of area rugs to cover up broken tiles that wobble when you step on them. 12) Dining room rattan bench with a huge hole in half of it. 13) Broken gate to the backyard. 14) Hanging outdoor chair that is missing a bolt in the mechanism so that if you move when you are sitting in it, the whole structure falls over.I sent an email (with accompanying photos) to both VRBO and the "host", who is not the owner but is a principal in a property management company in SC. VRBO apologized and refunded their small fee. The host never even responded. He had sent chipper messages at the start of the stay asking me to reach out if there was anything he could do to better my stay. Well I reached out and he completely ignored me. And I verified via text that I had his correct email address before I sent it.

Spacious and beautiful property

This was a great place to stay. It was very close to the wedding venue and other places to shop and play. The kids especially enjoyed the splash pad. It was nice to have a separate apartment for my parents who needed a break from the kids every once in a while. there was plenty of parking and the host was easy to contact if we had any questions.We would suggest fixing the pool table pocket and the cue tips. Also, it would be nice for the guests who stay in the apartment to have a way to get into the house when it is locked at night. We would like to suggest adding a few TVs. Maybe one in each bedroom and/or in the room by the kid’s bedroom. Overall, we had a great time and really appreciated the house. Thank you for everything.

This was a great spot that fit all of my family well!

We enjoyed staying at Villa Del Rey and pictures are just as described. Even though we had a few hiccups Mike always answered quickly and it was nothing major.
