There was nobody there at property to meet us once in the three days I wasn’t told there would be two long flights of stairs to climb to the third story. The room was fine and it was quiet.The common area was good but there were very few restaurants in town.

The property is a unique historic building. There is an interesting public living area on each floor with books for reading and a toaster, Keurig coffee maker, etc. The room was clean and the bed good. There was no staff present on the property that we noticed. We were given the front door code and the key had been left in the door to our room for us. The front door does not automatically lock when passing through so security depended on those staying at the property locking behind themselves. Security may not be an issue but we could tell our bedroom door had been broken into at one point and repaired with an adequate, The double hung opening windows no longer worked so it was difficult to open them to cool the room down. The views out of our bedroom were excellent. We enjoyed our stay but the experience would not be for everyone. The town restaurants were within the same block as was the bakery/coffee shop.

This is an older (99 years) reimagined hotel with walk-up access and overlooking the fairly laid back main street. The rooms remind me of college apartments: basic; not fancy; but quiet enough and functional. There were fellow motorcyclists staying there, which was fun. There are a bakery and a pizza parlor within feet of the front door. (Both the pizza place and bakery are hometown friendly and have great food).

Building is 100 years old and a bit tired but reasonably well maintained for its ages of service. 23 stair steps to 1st accommodation floor. Worked well for a one-nighter but would be ideal for longer term where intent is to do one’s own meals.

Historic yes but could use some fresh paint and a thorough cleaning. Couldn’t find the room right away, a friendly man led me there but didn’t identify himself. Good location. Easy walk to dining and a nice boardwalk trail.

The floors are all leaning which is annoying to walk on. The rooms are small, carpet dirty, towels are wore out, no fridge, and the bed was like sleeping on the ground. I could have camped outside in a tent and enjoyed it the same and I don’t like to sleep on the ground. The hotel is way over priced for what is offered. I do not recommend it at all.

There was no staff and you got a code to get in but really didn't need one as the front door was easy to enter. The property itself is nice and lots of amenities for guests on each floor. However no on site staff at all. I didn't like the bed as it was hard and uncomfortable. This was the only bed in a 14 day stint that did not create a relaxing sleep. However every things else was fine ,,, just need to upgrade the beds...PLEASE.

It’s a cute place but there are a lot of items that really need some tic. There was no stopper in the sink which is very old and stained, the shower panels inside are cracked so I cannot imagine the damage being done by water getting behind it. The linens were lovely and clean and the bed a good size but oh my it either needs to be glued and screwed or replaced as it’s sooooo creaky! Excellent central location is a sweet town with adorable scenic views. Would stay again but request a better bed and bathroom !

I liked the historic feel very much. I was also intrigued with the check in/check out process. Just pick up you key, enjoy your stay and then drop the key in the basket. There was something very appealing about that compared to the list of check in questions at other place.

It was clean with all amenities and a good bed. I was confused by checking directions and waited around for somebody to show up. Instead I had to phone them and they gave me instructions. I never did see anybody!

Historic yes but could use some fresh paint and a thorough cleaning. Couldn’t find the room right away, a friendly man led me there but didn’t identify himself. Good location. Easy walk to dining and a nice boardwalk trail.

This is an older (99 years) reimagined hotel with walk-up access and overlooking the fairly laid back main street. The rooms remind me of college apartments: basic; not fancy; but quiet enough and functional. There were fellow motorcyclists staying there, which was fun. There are a bakery and a pizza parlor within feet of the front door. (Both the pizza place and bakery are hometown friendly and have great food).

Sent details of the self check-in/access procedure in advance and this went very smoothly. There is free parking on the street outside, but I chose an off street area off the nearby side street. The hotel is a lovely old building, full of character. But there are two fairly steep staircases if you're on the top floor and a narrow landing, so it's easier to bring in what you need in a holdall /backpack /grocery bag than lug suitcases. Our room on the third floor was clean and comfortable and everything worked. There is a common room with a microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, seating area and TV. But some rooms (including ours) open directly onto this area so if other guests were using it late or early you might get disturbed - we didn't during our stay. We noted a toaster and a two ring electric hob on the second floor. We ate at the popular Mexican restaurant across the street (we booked a table on the Saturday evening and saw other potential diners advise of a 90 minute wait for a table ...).

There was no staff at the hotel. Had to call a number on the door to get instructions. The building is very old and not well maintained. The floor in our bathroom was uneven and breaking. Same thing with the sink and it smelled moldy.

Very old and rustic hotel but centrally located and comfortable. The fact that it was incredibly hot out, and there was no air conditioning was our only complaint.

Funky hotel from the early 1900s. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It is right on main street and we had a noisy night with young folks drinking across the street at the Ripley Creek. No one is on the premise. You are provided with a door code and you collect your key sitting at the bedroom door. The owner was quick to respond with a query and he reached out to us a few days in advance about the sel check-in process. It was conveniently located and would not hesitate to return.
