Golden Zaan Hotel, Zaandam-Amsterdam

Das Hotel liegt etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuss vom Bahnhof. Es gibt Parkmöglichkeiten. Das Hotel ist einfach, preislich aber für Amsterdamer Verhältnisse akzeptabel. Ideal für Städtereisen bei Anreise mit Auto oder Zug.

Preiswert in guter Lage. Kein Aufzug, verschlissene Zimmer, aber ruhig und in sehr guter Lage.

Ojito con la descripcion, que es una estafa. En expedia pone que tiene mini nevera pero es mentira. Tambien que tiene una habitacion independiente pero tambien es mentira. Nosotros reservamos una habitacion con dos literas y es una cuadro de 4x4 metros con la ducha/inodoro juntos. Te duchas encima del inodoro como en una caravana. La moqueta manchada, papeles debajo de las literas que no eran nuestros. En la recepcion nunca habia nadie. Eramos 4 y nos dejaron 3 toallas. Expedia lo unico que nos dijo de mala manera era que nos daban un cheque de 100 euros y reconocieron que lo ofertado no se correspondía con la realidad. Lo mejor la zona, que era muy buena.

Hotel pas terrible, ça depanne car pas trop cher par rapport aux autres logements sur edimbourg, mais quand meme pas de fenêtre dans la chambre, ni table ni chaise pour se poser un peu, poussieres partout... pas de prêts de velos alors que c'était indiqué dans l'annonce, les photos ne correspondent pas du tout a la chambre ou on etait.. enfin voila, beaucoup de trucs a revoir

Zimmer klein aber reicht für ein Wochenendeausflug. Personal war sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit. In der Straße unter dem Hotel kann man überall umsonst parken. Mit dem Zug ist man in wenigen Minuten in Amsterdam sind nur 2 Stationen

It’s okay according to price receptionist man very nice and humble easy to check in and check out near too Zaandam station and near deka market for breakfast just 2 minutes away and too many options for dinner De griek restaurant very good for dinner. Beds in good condition but bed sheets and duvet cover has some stains. Hotel provide towel’s, toilet paper and shampoo .

No bike, no mini fridge as advertised but staff was friendly and helpful.

Utrolig rar og servicemindet personale. Der var gratis parkering i nærheden hvilket var et kæmpe plus. Hotellet ligger desuden i et attraktiv område med hyggelige caféer, restauranter og handelsmuligheder Det var meget fint til prisen især så tæt på centrum af Amsterdam. Selve værelset var primitivt. Der var ingen bord eller stole, fjernbetjening, der iøvrigt var forældet, til fjernsynet var fuldstændig ødelagt og uden batteri, den ene lampe virkede ikke, der var ingen håndsæbe og hylden på badeværelset var så skæv at alt faldt ned. Det gik lidt stærkt med booking så havde ikke bemærket at vores værelse var unden vindue. Det bliver meget indelukket med 4 mennesker i samme rum, især når en har været i bad. Udluftningen var dog virkelig effektiv og der var aircondition i værelset. Selve sengene og sengetøjet var dejlige bløde. Håndklæderne var helt hvide og rene. Alt i alt en udemærket oplevelse til prisen. Jeg kunne godt finde på at booke igen, dog et værelse med vindue 😆

Lots of parking in quiet streets. BUT ZERO LIFTS FOR 4 FLOORS !! My room had many BED LICE and I was bitten severely !!! 😡 I showed the owner my photos and videos. He pretended to be shocked 😡 STAY AWAY !!! INSECT INFESTED !!! 😡

Do NOT be fooled by the reviews on here, always check trip advisor!!! This hotel shouldn’t even be running, it needs to be burnt down!! From the minute we got there, we waited 45 minutes for someone to come and check us in, even after trying to call the hotel number three times (which I was charged for) As we walked up the stairs (no lift) my partner could only describe the smell as ‘a damp old caravan’ When we entered the room, we first off noticed the stained, two bob “blinds” and the walls and ceiling were covered in laminate FLOORING! Which may I add, some missing so left a creepy open bit of ceiling above the bed. I then, reluctantly, went into the bathroom and it is only what I can describe as a 3 in 1, you can brush your teeth, whilst having a toilet and showering at the same time. To my surprise I opened the toilet roll flap and there lay TWO USED SANITARY TOWELS rolled up and the stench.. WOW.. Even when using the sink, the smell of sewage stunk out the whole bedroom. Unfortunately, for us, we couldn’t book another hotel so we ended up staying the night, only sleeping and getting out as soon as possible. After multiple times going down to reception and calling again & again, we still were not able to see anyone at the front desk or tell anyone about this. This hotel is listed as a 3 star and from the reviews and photos based on this website, is the reason we booked. I understand it’s cheap and you get what you pay for but this was another level. DO NOT BE FOOLED

This place was very dirty. Our sheets had blood stains all over them, the sheets didnt fit properly and so the yellow pillows and ripped dirty mattress topper were both exposed. They were responsive when we let them know, and changed the sheets, but it was gross to check in to that. The bathroom was quite dirty as well. At one point our keycard did not work (at midnight), but on-call reception came and fixed that for us. Friendly staff, but the lack of cleanliness was disappointing.

Es war fürchterlich!!!! Kein Mülleimer, Müll lag noch vom Vormieter rum. Dicker Staub auf den Oberflächlichen, wahrscheinlich schon sehr alt. Allgemeiner Zustand: schmuddelig, Bad war so unangenehm, wir mochten nicht mal duschen. Badgrösse: ca 1mal2 Meter. Dadrinnen ein WC, eine Dusche und ein Waschbecken!!! Duschvorhang möchte ich auch nicht anfassen. Garderobe war neu mit großem Spiegel, nur es gab keine Haken oder Bügel. Als Sitzgelegenheit gab es nur das Bett. Die Werbung: kostenloser Parkplatz suggeriert mir, dass der Hotelwirt auch kostenlose Plätze zur Verfügung stellt. Stattdessen stand man in der Konkurrenz mit der Nachbarschaft, weil alle Plätze öffentlich waren: ha ha ha👎 Diese Hotel ist wirklich nicht zu empfehlen, Finger weg!!!😬😡

There was an open, moldy can of something on the dusty window sill. Absolutely disgusting. No remote for the tv either.

This has to be the wrose hotel i have stayed in. The front reception was not manned 24/7 and anyone can walk into yhe hotel. When we arrived in the room, we was astonished at the state of the room. The room was not cleaned and was fully of mould. The back of the bed was full of wood chippings wherre they have quicky made a repair and there was blood stain on towel. It was awful.. There is not tea or coffee provided either. Please avoid this hotel at all costs

I have been asked by yourselves to review my stay in the Golden Zaan Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam so here goes. Quite simply put, this was the dirtiest most scummy hovel I have ever encountered in life. I am shocked this hovel can even be advertised as a Hotel by yourselves! At best it is a hostel. Whilst I have stayed at an assortment of hotels over my 67 years of age, I am not particularly fussy. Both myself and my wife have two minimum requirements from a hotel. Firstly a decent bed and pillow with clean sheets to get a comfortable nights sleep. Secondly, a decent shower facility with hot and cold running water. This establishment failed on both of these.

Bedding was dirty. No parking terribleservice

Rummet hade var mycket trångt. Hade mögel i taket i badrummet, ”gratis” hygienartiklar bestod av en öppnad större schampoflaska. Det luktade även cigarettrök i hela rummet. Rummet kändes inte fräscht.

Abgesehen davon dass das Badezimmer diese Bezeichnung nicht verdient (dusche ist mitten im winzigen Raum und man hat dann ein komplett nasses Zimmerchen), war das Zimmer dreckig. Aber das eigentlich katastrophale sind die Bettwanzen (ich kann das mit diversen Fotos belegen). Und das zu einem Preis, der viel zu hoch ist.... Lasst die Finger von dieser Absteige

Honestly this is barely a hotel. No amenities, terrible facilities. No shampoo, Conditioner, hand soap. The only shower gel was a quarter of a bottle of some ones dove shower gel that looks like it was left there. When we arrived no one was at the reception, the hotel smelled strange and was a little creepy. Our room wasn't fully clean. There was lipstick on the mirror, the drain in the shower was displaced. The bed sheet was too small for the bed and wouldn't stay on. There was burns/stains on the duvet, brown stains/mess on the walls and stains on the curtains. Additionally the AC remote was on but no batteries were in the remote. Plus we found a used vape underneath the bed. We were provided with two towels, (for two adults), to last us the 4 nights. And the shower/wet room is dingy, with the shower space being too small so the wet cold shower curtain will stick to you when using it. Sadly there wasn't any breakfast or anything, which is fine, but there wasn't even a kettle or the necessary amenities in the room to make tea. No one came to clean our room during this stay or provide more towels. In fact we had to ask for more toilet paper as we ran out very quickly. When we checked out there wasn't any staff there to see us off. If not for the fantastic activities we had planned in the city, I think we would have struggled to enjoy ourselves. This hotel seems more like a hostel with private rooms/bathrooms. I think they could easily do a lot more improve their service.

Die Lage ist schön gewesen, ruhig und alles wichtige in der Umgebung. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, das Bad noch kleiner. Direkt beim eintreten ist eine kaputte Lampe aufgefallen, auch keine Chance sie zu reparieren. Dann haben wir gesehen, dass die innere Türklinke der Badezimmer Tür abgebrochen war. Somit ließ sich die Tür von innen nicht schließen. Versuch von außen scheiterte auch. Eine Garderobe für Jacken wäre auch schön gewesen. Leider war die Unterkunft nicht ihr Geld wert.

Location is decent and possible to get in-out via train or buses. Some 15-min walk with your luggage if taking public transportation. Price was alright. Otherwise, you could almost hear pindrop from every side. Someone walking around floor above, kids running around in hallway or guys drinking/shouting in the street. Bathroom is small - well manageable, but at some point there was water dripping from bathroom ceiling.

There was no partition between shower and toilet, therefore after shower, the toilet would be flooded. There was not even a chair for sitting down. Very bad experience.

1. Das """Hotel""" liegt nicht 8 Minuten von Amsterdam Centraal und ist weit weg vom Bahnhof Zaandam. 2. Es sieht aus eher wie ein Stundenhotel. 3. Das Zimmer, dass ich gekriegt habe ist gar nicht das Zimmer, das ich reserviert habe. Das Zimmer war viel kleiner und die Einrichtung schlecht. Es gab keinen Schrank und der Teppich war dreckig und hat gestunken. Das ganze Gebäude hat einen komischen Geruch, eine Mischung zwischen alt und Fisch. Das Badezimmer war komisch, mit dem Klo direkt in der Dusche. Wie unsauber war das Badezimmer, kann man leider nicht beschreiben. Ekelhaft ist zu wenig. Der Abfluss der Dusche hat nicht funktioniert. Als wir dem Personal bescheid gegeben haben, uns wurde ein anderes Zimmer versprochen. Leider hat uns keiner mehr darüber gesprochen. Keiner vom Personal hat sich wirklich um die Gäste gekümmert. Das Zimmer wurde nie aufgeräumt, nicht geputzt und das Bett nie gemacht. Das Treppenhaus war schmutzig und die Stoffabdeckung auf den Treppen war teilweise abgerissen. "Stolpergefahr"!!! Und all das zu dem Preis von 5 Sterne Hotel! Ich bewundere, dass Expedia das Hotel seinen Kunden empfehlt. Finger weg vom Laden. Ich erwarte eine Erklärung von Expedia!!

Good hotel for a cheap price, tge beds were comfy, maybe a bit of natural light would have been nice.

Room was very very basic. One of the twin beds was broke. TV had no channels and the shower was next to the toilet with no visible drainage. Needs major revamp.

Hotel receptionist he was rude and homophobic, the room was not clean, vomit on the wall, stained bedsheets, walls either had mould and ripped in places, the toilet seat was broken and the sink was hanging off the wall. The carpet was not hoovered and curtain was hanging off, the fridge plug was melted and socket was melted with the pin still in.

Get what you pay for but overall clean place to stay and good for travelling into Amsterdam The staff are also lovely and helpful

Uma equipe totalmente irresponsável e ausente,onde diz que tem portaria 24 horas e não há ninguém. Para fazer nosso checkin mesmo no horário certo, esperamos mais de 20 minutos para alguém aparecer. No checkout só deixamos a chave no balcão. Na hora que você dá uma sorte de encontrar alguém e pedir algo, eles dizem que sim porém , não fazem nada (um travesseiro, etc ) . Não tem elevador e o quarto é ruim. Não recomendo para ninguém.

Die Zimmer sind dreckig, verstaubt schlecht gelüftet. Es gibt nicht mal einen Mülleimer. Auf der Bettdecke waren auch flecken. Die Rezeption ist nicht besetzt mussten 30 min warten bis einer überhaupt kam, nach einem Anruf. Würde ich nicht weiterempfehlen.

Unfortunately, in the first room i was given, the toilet was broken and the water was running all day and night long. I was given another room and was allowed to use both rooms. The guy at the reception was nice and easy to talk to. For checking-in you have to call or wave your hand at the camera in the entrance.

- Front desk is always empty, guests are expected to phone a mobile number to get the attention of the staff. - Phone won’t be answered and staff will turn up after five or six rings. - Key to the room stopped working each night and had to get the staff to rewrite the card. - Second night the key didn’t work, staff decided to block my number so I couldn’t get a hold of them. Luckily the guest in the next room key didn’t work and could get through. - Room was falling apart, light removed and left with exposed wiring in the bathroom. Mirror was falling off the wall, wallpaper was ripped off the wall, there was an electrical burn in the one corner of the room. Fridge only produces heat when plugged in. - No clean towels each day. - Cleaning equipment left in the halls. - Hallway to rooms has exposed walls and missing wallpaper.

Do not be fooled by these positive reviews. This hotel and entire stay was tragic. It started with having to pay extra tax upon arriving, as it wasn’t included in our booking. The receptionist said we didn’t have to pay as our toilet was broken by the previous guests. A review stated that in June 2025 they had faced the same issue with their toilet too, as seen in the photo. Our stay was in August 2025. After cancelling the “tax” and witnessing the state of our toilets, we realised we were missing amenities which were promised upon booking, such as: towels, a hairdryer, a safe, and those are the only ones i can list from memory. The receptionist was never at his desk, only there when we checked in, and even then, when we approached the hotel for the first time, he was outside having a smoke. Not a good impression. He was unable to contact. The room was never cleaned, our beds were never made, and bins never emptied. It is an insect infection waiting to happen, and by the looks of other reviews, they appear to face bed bug issues as well. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody, it should not be rated three stars (2 is being generous). The location is ideal, but for the condition of the room, unprofessional staff and failing to meet promised goods, do not go here. It is not worth it. Do not waste your money.

Pleseant stay, good sized room everything in working order and friendly staff - staff are not always at reception however phone number provided and staff assisted within minutes when there was issues with our key card. The mattress was comfortable however the duvet was not thick enough for the two of us. Thank you

Market very close with cheap food and amazing breads. Short walk to bus station, 30 ish minutes outside of Amsterdam. Perfect if you get the Amsterdam card the bus line is included and you save a lot being outside of the city. If you don't mind local market food and cheap water with some walking, this was a fun stay for my trip.

Great place to stay, good location, clean, safe & the staff were very helpful (apart from the young man who didn't help us with the fridge that didn't work). Recommended. Great breakfast at the supermarket just round the corner.

Das Hotel ist in einem schrecklichen Zustand. Die Zimmer sind alt, abgerockt ( kaputte Fliesen im Badezimmer, dreckige Teppiche, Schimmel) die Bettwäsche schien allerdings sauber zu sein, unter das Spannbetttuch wollten wir allerdings nicht schauen:-( Des Weiteren war Dusche und Toilette in einem winzigen Raum, so dass bei Duschen das Wasser über die Toilette spritze. Was positiv zu erwähnen ist, das die Lage des Hotels sehr gut ist. Zaandam ist ein schönes Städtchen und zur Bahn ist es zu Fuß nicht weit. 2 Stationen später ist man in Amsterdam. Also Fazit: Zaandam gerne wieder, Hotel nie wieder

O Hotel fica na cidade de Zaandamm que é uma fofura, centrinho muito legal, lojas, cafés e restaurantes. Domingo movimentado é bem baixo. Sobre o Hotel fiquei confortável porém é um local antigo sem muita manutenção, para uma ou duas noites supre. Ponto positivo para o verão é o ar condicionado. Sobre a locação caminhamos todos os dias até a estação de trem cerva de 10 15 mim, e o trem até Amsterdam sai de 15 mim em 15mim pertinho.

Circuit vélo. Etape à l hotel. Zaam.a proximitédes moulin. Le propriétaire parle français très sympa. Petit déjeuner au supermarché à côté de l hôtel à 2,50 €.

The recepcionist was not in the counter some times. The water in the shower did not flow correctly trough the draner so some times it flooded. Zaandam is a nice and cozy place and having a supermarket near by was fantastic!!!!
