Great location, quiet and well appointed. Room cleaning was supposed to be daily but they never came. AC was a window unit that kept the space cool but didn’t it dehumidify or filter air. Worth staying here otherwise and would repeat.

The best aspect of this property is its location. The location couldn't be better. Second, it is very clean and efficient for a couple or single who want(s) the bare bones. Street parking is ample and steps from the Nest. The two drawbacks to the property are that this is a completely turnkey operation - there is no one on site - and there are no amenities. This is a compact house that has been converted into a four room guesthouse with a communal galley micro kitchen. We stayed on the upper floor. The stairs are small and noisy (comically creaky - but to be fair we heard no other guest noise during our stay but it possible we were the only guests at the property). The room itself is on the small side but it worked fine for us. The bathroom is a bit tight but again efficient and worked fine. My biggest complaint is value - this was a relatively expensive place to stay ($450+ a night) for very little other than a place to rest your head and shower, albeit in a great location. If it were priced at 250 or under, I would wholeheartedly recommend it for a couple looking for an efficient, no frills but well located stay in charming Hudson.

The room was nice overall and decorated well. I'm glad I was on the second floor, since I suspect you would be able to hear creaking from people walking upstairs from the downstairs room. However, this did not impact my rating. This place felt more like an Airbnb. There's no front desk or hotel staff. It's basically just four rooms in a building with a small shared kitchen area. I was perfectly fine with this, though. The check-in and check-out process was very easy, and the communication with the host was good. It's also in a great location, which is just a few minutes' walk from the train station and half a block off of the main strip. The room did not have blackout curtains, which impacted my stay since I had taken a red-eye flight and needed to sleep while it was still light in order to catch up on lost sleep. Of the two windows in the room, one technically had blackout curtains, but since they fell below the air conditioning unit, I had to decide whether to block the light from that window or have the air conditioning on an 85° day. The second window only had a shade that only filtered out about half the light, so a lot of light got through there as well. I deducted one star for this, since I would have expected black-out shades or curtains at any hotel.

Wow, this place is a complete sham . It's gross. It's worse than my early apts in NYC. I would say one step above a dorm and should not be charging more than $100 a night. SHAME ON YOU. We booked 2 nights at about $400 a night with taxes and fees. We did not even end up sleeping there. The moment we walked in we looked online and found another property, a beautiful 2 bedroom suite at Wm. Farmer & Sons for $299 a night. The value was not even comparable. A "suite" at Nautical Nest = a room with a chair and small bed Nespresso machine = broken Balcony = a step above a fire escape with 2 rusty chairs kitchen= college dormatory kitchenette that stinks and has a microwave and mini fridge NO lobby, No common space at all, no staff, no hospitality. I highly recommend choosing one of the many other charming hotels in Hudson unless you get a deal under $100 for this place.
