The Iris Motel

loved my stay here! the parking was easy and i liked that each room had a code to get into. area felt safe and the rooms were VERY clean and updated. will be staying here again when i come back to nashville!

Clean and affordable in a great location- note, no microwave in room, but there is a fridge and a microwave to use in the lobby.

The Iris Motel was centrally located, unpretentious but comfortable with everything we wanted, perfectly clean with everything working the way it should. I used the microwave in the lobby fairly often, so not having one in the room was fine. The mini-frig in the room was handy.

Narrow parking area. Bird droppings all over car. Shower handle broken. NO IRON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No access to ice. Needs inroom microwave. The coffee maker is a keurig. Plenty of room for storage and to spread out. Convenient location to downtown

Everything was really nice! The beds were comfortable, very clean, good atmosphere! We loved the little community lobby where you could use the microwave, hook up your laptop and work, or just lounge around. I would say the only thing that I would recommend, and it would be me just nitpicking, is it would have been awesome to have had a table and chairs on the other side of the lobby, like they have upstairs, and an ashtray for the smoking area. Like I said though, that's just me nitpicking and making suggestions rather than a complaint because we really didn't have any complaints whatsoever. It was a great place to stay and we would absolutely stay there again!

We arrived on Friday and the codes worked just as described in email. The room was cool and clean. I had read previous reviews and brought two power strips and an extension cord because there was only three outlets…one outlet at bathroom sink and were the coffee maker was plugged in and one outlet under table between beds. The beds were comfortable. The TV worked great. I brought a foam soap dispenser for the sink and to my surprise this is the first hotel that had a soap dispenser at the sink. The coffee maker is a one cup kerrig so we brought our own coffee maker and used it for a full pot of coffee. Refrigerator dis not have the small freezer in it to freezer our ice packs but there is an ice machine to the right of the lobby in a hallway that they will give you a code to that is different than the code in the lobby where the microwave is. The only complaints I would say would be that the air conditioner did cool the room but doesn’t really remove the humidity. The towels were still damp the next morning when we hung them up. The other thing would be that the clothes hanger pole is larger than standard hangers. They provided six hangers but our clothes were on hangers and kept falling off the pole. It was a nice place and reasonably priced. Plenty of towels, toilet paper and they have a hair dryer in the room. Walmart is right across the street and there are neat restaurants nearby. We went to the Pfunky Griddle and you cook some of your own breakfast on griddle in table

This is a "remote" motel. There is no staff at scene. All communication with staff is via text. Microwave was in the 'lobby'. Bed was average. But the biggest thing was the train noise. Even at 2:00am the air horns would 'wake the dead". In addition, there is no place (except sitting in bed) to get any work done. No desk or chair. Wi-fi was slow. Staff was accomodating and we were able to check in 90 minutes prior to the actual check-in time. Check out was a breeze.

Wish there was more parking lot lighting, especially in the back. Also a sofa would be nice. No place to sit other than bed.

I loved the concept of this hotel. Parking was easy. The layout of the room made sense, with plenty of space to put bags. The room itself was clean and had nice amenities, but there was a dead roach on the floor when we arrived, and my husband was awakened during the night by another roach crawling on him, so it's hard to get past that! Staff did follow up with me when I contacted them with a photo of the roach and they were apologetic. I hope they get the bug situation sorted out, because it's really a good budget option otherwise!

We really like the idea behind the Iris Hotel. Affordable, no frills, modernized. But found a lot lacking when we arrived. Staff was very kind and helped us get into the room (our code had not been activated yet). The room and beds weren’t as clean as we’d like but were not horrible. Just a bit of dirt/graininess on the floors, and lots of dust on bed headboards/lights, same with a/c unit, and several countertops. Overall it was fine and not bad given city location and price. The worst part though is the noise. The motel would have to insulate and rebuild but you can hear literally everything. The loud highway and road, the bus when it stops, people walking above you (every step), the next door alarm for someone waking up, conversation outside the door or in neighboring rooms, etc. The window and door are also quite drafty which makes the a/c & heat work quite hard and often. Overall a great idea for a motel with some nice modernized touches but still has some improvements to make. That said, if you like to sleep with earplugs and want an affordable spot for a night or two in Nashville, it’s an option to consider.

Everything was great up until we were getting ready to leave; there was a HUGE roach in our bed sheets. Went to shake out our sheets and the roach just fell on the floor… it was dead but still.. I have stayed in over 10 hotels and have never had a roach in my room.. I was pretty disgusted by this

The room was just as expected, relatively clean, we didn’t hear any of the neighbours and it was in a good location. However, when we were packing up our things, we found two dead cockroaches right beside the beds. We were definitely grossed out and it showed that they didn’t sweep/clean thoroughly. What I didn’t like is since there’s no person on site, there was nobody we could talk to about this.

The Iris is a cute hotel. Love the purple Iris painted on the side of the building!! Our room was spotless, smelled fresh, linens were fresh, beds / pillows comfortable, gorgeous hardwood floors. My daughter and I just stayed one night for a Vanderbilt Medical Center appointment, which was only 3 minutes away! We did not take advantage of any restaurants nearby, but there were several. It is right off of a busy street, but the neighborhood was quiet, and we felt safe. The road noise didn't bother us, we turned the fan on high to drown out the sound. Chelsea was so good with staying in communication with me. Loved this place, and would definitely stay again for future appointments, and recommend it!!

Love the place. Was super clean, loved that it didn’t have any carpeting (bc it’s always so dirty at hotels). Overall, very satisfied.

The access code upon arrival did not work. Checkout reminders even before check-in are in poor taste. No better or worse than an average room anywhere. Sticky floor, broken shower, but clean room, convenient location.

Walls are really thin cause it’s an old place that has been refurbished but not remodeled.

Very clean, amenities perfect amount, beds comfortable, loved the wood floors instead of carpeting like most places, remote communication with them was fantastic, a lot of different kind of food options very close, and ubering into nashville city was about $10. The only thing I would say is if you are a light sleeper bring a noise machine - highway noise is crazy especially the bump in the road. The doorway had a large crack in it from the frame to the door you could see daylight easily and that didn’t help with the noise.

The check-in was easy. The room was nice. The staff seemed nice. It was a unique experience because there's no front desk and you get a code to check into your room and checkout. My only complaint is that the bathroom was small. I would stay here again, though

Property located close to services. Room was overall small for two queen beds. Bed platforms stuck out with sharp wood corners. Bathroom small with shower curtain rod bent to where curtain slid towards the middle. Toilet seat was loose and paper was mounted in a place where it was hard to reach. No hooks to hang towels, clothes etc.

I love this business model! You stay without having to see or interact with anyone. The room had several thoughtful touches. With more small touches, this would be a great place to stay! There’s nothing wrong with it as is, for just a quick overnight, but I probably wouldn’t return. More specifically, the tv is too small, the bed is adequate but nothing more, the internet (and cell service) are terrible.

Very basic, but clean, and cheap. They definitely need some tweaking on a few things: Beds were very firm. Pillows were thin and flimsy. AC unit was so loud we had trouble falling and staying asleep. Shower curtain rod was overextended or bent to the point that the curtain would not remain closed.

Great location. Was about fifteen minutes for whiskey row and about ten minutes form Geodis Park. Was a nice room but the bed was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. I'd rate this place higher if the bed was better.

This was a fantastic experience. Staff communication was great. Everything was clean and worked. Location is very convenient.

I stay here every time I visit Nashville. Even though there isn’t a front desk, help is a text away. Great place.

This hotel was so cute. It was super easy to communicate with the staff, parking was easy and well lit. It was easy to get into and out of the room, and the code worked flawlessly. I can't speak to the lobby or any of the other aspects of the premises as we stayed in the room, but I'm sure it's also quite nice. The decor is super adorable, everything was clean, nothing was broken, there were plenty of towels and everything seemed to be taken care of. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was nice. We had DoorDash delivered and they had no issues with them getting it to us. I'd stay here again!

Not easy to enter

Honestly, I was worried about service at an unstaffed venue, but everything was perfect. Excellent communication on their part. Needed help with where to park since I was hauling a trailer and phone support was very helpful.

We loved this property. It was conveniently located to so many things. It was clean and the staff communicated with me the entire time and met all our needs. Much better than a large hotel.

Great value! Rooms are clean and the area was quiet. Checking in is a bit complicated the first time. But one you get it, the process is easy.

We had a water leak in our room when we arrived. We contacted the staff and they put us in a different room quickly! They were so accommodating and supportive! I will definitely stay there again!

We booked this hotel to meet a very early appointment at Vanderbilt Health in the 100 Oaks Mall, and it was extremely convenient. The rooms are simple with no frills. The remote check in worked better than most conventional hotels. The only negative is that it is located right on a busy road, and it is loud even inside the room.

Location was great for taking an Uber to Broadway.

I loved staying here. The room was nice clean quiet. Thai restaurant next door very friendly clean beautiful food. Walking distance from boutique shops. Thinks up from me Susie Carrington

Cute motel that was very clean. I loved the papaya soap. There is no staff on site so you must text them to get entry instructions and leave your credit card on file. There was no place for me to park both nights so I parked across the street. The area is commercial and not very appealing. There's a big Walmart plaza directly across the street. The adjacent highway is noisy so it was difficult to sleep. I think the pricing is a bit a on the high side, and like other reviewers, I would rather have had an 11am check-out time.

Great. We walked to Geodis for our concert. Close to all kinds of restaurants as well. Will use this hotel again.

The Iris Motel was a great place for an overnight stay! Very conveniently located, it was about a 10 minute ride down to Broadway! The area near the motel has many food choices and a Walmart nearby, I highly recommend!

Great concept. Easy to get to and from Downtown via Uber ($10ish). Good options to eat and drink near the property

The room was decorated nice and the bed was very comfy. About 4 miles from downtown Nashville. Which was nice to have a calm place away from the city.

Great test/email communication about check-in, arrived, entered the code in the door and we were in. The room was clean. However, when it is advertised as a modern minimalist motel, that's exactly what they meant. There was no furniture in the room other than the bed (which was extremely comfortable). There was built in shelving for storage, nightstand, etc. Luckily, we had driven and had our camp chairs in the car which we used for seating. I had an issue getting to the ice machine which was another coded door - got immediate help via text and did manage to get it open. The next night I could not get the door open again and just gave up. The location was great, it was about a $10 Uber ride to Broadway, many restaurants and shops in the area. The price was decent. I'd stay again if I could bring my own chairs.

This is a funky spot that is immaculate and well maintained. It was perfect for our weekend in Music City because we could easily get to our destinations by car, Uber, and even bus (which stops across the street). The facilities allowed us to have coffee and a light breakfast before we headed out. Great value!
