Extended Stay America Premier Suites - Tampa - Gibsonton - Riverview

My stay was not entirely what i had expected. The property is very nicely maintained, has a wonderful staff and no pool. At a previous stay in the area in February, i actually went to this property and spoke with the personnel there. I explained my particular requirements, my not so pleasant experience with thei property in Brandon. The room i was shown and met my requirements, not the one i was in this trip. The breakfast stated as being offered daily, later changed to grab and go style, this was okay but for 9 days, a chioce of the same 5 items to eat and two drinks got to be a little boring. The rooms are a suite, refrigerator, stove, sink and microwave equiped however there is no pans, plates or utensil"s. Fortunately there is a Wal-Mart a block away to creatively shop at, items bought would be microwaveable and what you don't use is a waste. Showering, I require a hand held shower head which i explained and requested, the in room shower had no hand shower head. The rooms closet area had a free standing wall that was not square, it set at an angle. The door to the bathroom was set to open fully into the room, i found myself trying to catch it most of the time so it wouldn"t hit the shelf on the wall behind it, although it was designed to make that impact. Very nice place, with great staff, great food and a movie theater next door and very close to my event location. I am not sure that i would stay here again, being a yearly traveler.

Elevator was still dysfunctional when I arrived. Read it in ratings weeks n months before already. My room was in 4th floor and I would have expected at least a more frequent cleaning of the fire stairs when elevator doesn’t work.

The hotel is clean. However the elevator was broken and we were placed on the 3rd floor. We had to walk up 6 flights of stairs to our room with luggage. Neither choice of compensation or new room was made available. Additionally, when we asked for fresh towels at the front desk, we were told we needed to retrieve the used ones and bring those down first. This seemed unreasonable considering the 6 flight walk up. In the evening there were also guests in the stairwells drinking beer. I would not stay here again.

BE AWARE! Elevator has been down for 4 weeks and it’s still down as of today September 1st. Very inconvenient to go up and down the stairs with luggage or to receive a food delivery. Expedia or the hotel did not notified the issue before arrival and I had no choice other than stay due to my time of arrival. Room are spacious but noticed towels did not look clean at all I found stains on more than 1 which we decided to go to Walmart to buy some towels because we didn’t want to use the ones at the hotel, found a piece of used bar soap inside the shower on the floor, bed was comfortable no coffee maker but a kitchenette and a full size fridge. I did not have the best experience and it’s disappointing cause they can do so much better for the price we paid per night. Hotel location was the only positive thing I can say Walmart, Cracker Barrel, gas station, movie theater and other things are within walking distance.

Arrived to find that the only elevator in the building did not work. Our room was scheduled to be on the 4th floor! No warning about this! We later learned that the elevator has been inoperable for months! The area beneath the raised bed was filthy! Breakfast food selections have been cheapened greatly since our last stay. We are in our 70’s. The staff was able to switch our room to the first floor. No luggage carts! This location is now well below acceptable.

They advertise like they have a gym . But its only 3 machines . They say that they provide breakfast and they only serve energy bars coffee and muffins. They don't offer house keeping unless u stay more than a week . Not worth the price

I wanted to like this place but the elevator was not working for the 4 days we were there, for me this is an emergency situation but it was never a concern for them I guess. The trash was overflowing and as soon as I went to the room there were 2 roaches in the kitchen. Also, the toilet had disgusting stains. The staff was friendly at least but I would not recommend this place.

Elevator was not working, had to use stairs. Booked a king and they gave me a double bed cause they over booked.

Broken elevator, clogged sink, clogged shower among other things. Desk clerk was friendly and quick to check in and out. Last minute booking

Room and facility can use a better cleaning service.

The room was dirty and smelled really bad. When we reported it the staff said " oh sorry about that" but did not offer to come to the room or change us to another room.

The room was still dirty. There was beer caps still under the bed.

Check in was super easy and quick. Downside was I found hair in between the sheets & in the tube and sink. Looked like no attempt had been made to clean aside from putting in new towels

There were roaches in the room, hair, and one used contact lens on the night stand table. We left immediately and had to pay for a different hotel.

It's not about the internet, the floors in the room were sticky, the hallways had very very bad strong mold smell. Unusual characters in and around the area. This place needs to shut down and remodeled with new floors everywhere and better cleaning in the rooms. Should have security at the area.

The room was filthy. Bedding was dirty the floor wasn't cleaned.

Floor not clean, greasy area probably from previous guest not properly cleaned. No shampoo. Website says "fully equipped kitchen" All cabinets empty.

Cleaning was very bad , I found food and beer in the refrigerator from days/weeks ago maybe

It was such a pleasant stay. The hotel rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The service was friendly and quick as well. I would definitely pick this hotel for another stay

Staff was nice. Place was clean. Terrible tv selection. Amenities non existent. And no way to check my bill. No hotel info available. No cleaning service because we were only there 3/2. Emptied our own trash. But for what we needed it served the purpose

My husband and I stayed here for a few weeks with our dog while we had some work done on our home. Overall, its a nice hotel. We had a king suite which was very spacious. I loved the large walk-in shower. I liked that the room has a full size fridge, 2 stove top burners, and a sink. There's room to store dishes and food above the sink. We brought our own, but I think for a fee they will supply you with dishes/pots/pans, etc. There's a trash shoot near the elevator. They also have vending machines and ice machines. The laundry there is a bit expensive, so we went to a local laundry mat instead. The room is also very clean, but could be updated. It was quiet. There's lots of restaurants and a movie theater within walking distance. A Walmart is right next to it. Parking was plentiful. It's pet friendly, but the price they charged, $28 per night, was different than what Expedia quoted. The only thing I found odd was that I had initially booked 12 nights but they charge in 7 day increments and separately for the pet fee. We had to extend our stay a couple of times and were able to stay in the same room which was nice but the billing got a little confusing. I was able to work while there using their free wifi with no issues. They offer a free breakfast which is just muffins, cereal bars, and yogurt. I would stay again.

Booked a non smoking room , but after entering the room noticed a strong smoke smell. Asked for another room and they said they're all booked out.

Stayed here whilst attending the Fl birding festival, not too many chain hotel place around, worked out well - large rooms - very modern, all wood floors( no carpets) large fridge, sink, stove top , recliner - excellent all round!

Staff was Fantastic and Friendly , room was clean and spacious

The room was a good size and clean.

Beds were terrible, extremely noisy AC unit, pubic hair left in bathroom, no conditioner for hair, free breakfast consists of oatmeal and coffee. We never complain, but did not get a decent night sleep here. Plenty of other options to pick from within the same rate.

Great customer service!

The girl at the front desk was not pleasant. As a matter of the she want even there and we had to wait for someone to come to the front.Then barked of a few to does. I was surprised we were our on the third floor being we were seniors and are using a cane. Well, there was an elevator so off we went. we arrived at our room, all the way down the hall, which was a good job for a lady with a cane, and my husband needed to go out to take care of business to find the elevator was broken. He walked down the three flights of stairs, and returned an hour and a half later, to find the elevator still broken, and had to climb at three flights of stairs, I had to remain in my room as there was no way I was able to do the stairs. Thankful they did fix the elevator and the next morning I was able to exit the room by way of elevator. Then I sat on the desk chair and fell off of it. My husband was able to help me get back up but the chair is a accident waiting to happen. We did report this to the desk person, but she seemed unconcerned. I want to say I was surprised when housekeeping was on our floor and my husband ask for fresh towels. Then being told take your dirty towels off to the front desk and they will give you new ones. Breakfast was a joke and for handicap the table and high chair was not so good for a senior.

On New Year's Eve 2024 I reserved And paid for a room at this hotel. When I went to Check-in they refused me service even thou i had already reserved and paid for a room online. So I asked them for a refund so that I can go to a different hotel and they refused to refund me my money. I told them I had nowhere else to go and no money seeing as how they wouldn't give me a refund and i would be out on the street. I did not have a vehicle either so i couldn't go anywhere. The only thing they told me was that's not our problem over and over again. I had to spend the night outside the back of the hotel Where they have a picnic bench.

Loved the cleanliness and polite staff. Would recommend for anyone staying in the area.

The hotel was very clean and nice. The person checking me in was disturbed that I rang the bell for help. She didn’t even greet me she just chucked her head up and I said I needed to check in, I had a reservation. She said name then gave me the room. Very bad customer service. Other than that area was good and lots to do around there.

From the attractive curb appeal to the knowledgeable, kind, and helpful staff, this location is deserving of the moniker "premier." The manager communicated with clarity and exemplary professionalism. Always communicated with a kind and patient response. In the parking lots, no loitering or drinking is permitted. A great experience!

The lady at the front desk upon my arrival was very rude. She was in the back room as I was speaking with another quest. She then came from the back room and started slapping the door bell attached to the wall and pointing at a sign that said "Ring Bell for assistance". I found that to be very rude...Maybe she should have been out front working and helping hotel guests. The other guest I was speaking with at the time found her actions to be very rude and unnecessary. I will not be back! I will also move our company employees to another hotel! Have a great day!!

Although the front desk staff was very friendly and professional, the facility itself was not very clean. The shower had hair on the shower curtains. The were other guests hanging in hallways and sitting on floors. Felt very unsafe. The frost desk stated that they're would be breakfast but nothing was offered other than coffee and vending machines. The heating system was not functioning. This is a non smoking facility however, smelled like cigarettes in elevator.

Hotel was comfortable, and everything is within walking distance.

The room was very clean and the building was fairly new. There was places to eat next to the hotel, but there was a lot of people out in the parking lot walking around drinking beer. I felt a little uneasy when I walked my dog around 9 o’clock. No one bothered us, but you know anything can happen when people are drinking alcohol, everything else was fine.

The price is reasonable. Its right off of the interstate & Walmart is across the road. Pleanty of restaurant in the area as well.

The breakfast was snack bars & coffee. Hot water minimal. Clean & comfy beds.

The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly but we didn’t even have extra toilet paper or sufficient soap and shampoo in the room. Also reservations less than 7 days have no housekeeping so could only get fresh towels if you brought the soiled ones back. Not expecting 5 star resort here but the room wasn’t cheap either. Also advertising having a “free breakfast,” is misleading. More accurate would be “free morning to-go snacks.” Yogurts, granola bars and packaged muffins is not a “breakfast.” There are viable dining options in walking distance though.

Wifi connection was not as easy as it should be. Trash needs to be taken out by customers. There was no ice machine on every floor... you must go down to the lobby on the first floor which is a major inconvenience. Free breakfast was just yogurt and breakfast bars.

The breakfast bar was more like a snack bar and there was never coffee available in the lobby.

Grab and go breakfast was a bit disappointing... could have been more than packaged oatmeal yogurt and fruit bars.

First we were told we could only have 4 towels, 1 for each person. Next, when we got the the room a towel had someone elses hair on it. The floor also felt sandy. The "breakfast" was terrible. More like a snack with 2 kinds of muffins, some terrible coffee, and hot water to make oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. You could stay at a nicer hotel for 5 dollars more that served a full contintental breakfast.

Didn’t like the breakfast area. Employee at front desk informed me I could only take one item for breakfast. Not the best choice as there was no cooked breakfast. Disappointed the way she handled the situation.
