Maison Peltrera - volando sobre Como

This is a great place for a group to stay. The views are great and the house has plenty of fans for hotter days. Be aware that it is a climb, but if your party is fit, you'll love the place. The owner and manager are very responsive.

Our stay was for 5 days with my spouse and 3 sons (all 18+) and son-in-law. Property was big enough for 6 of us adults with a lot of beautiful windows for cooling down the apartment. It didn't help there was a major heat wave in Italy the time we were staying but the property mgr brought us an additional 2 fans to help as apt is without a/c. There was a pool on the property all to ourselves so that was a huge help after a long hot day of sight seeing and a great way to cool down. Most European homes & businesses do not have a/c so you cant be to afraid to sweat when visiting Italy, lol The only downside were the steps up to the apartment. You definitely need to be in moderate shape to walk up these everyday if not a couple times a day if needed. It was hard with all our luggage but we managed just fine. We always slept with windows open at night as it usually cools down at night. We rented 2 little cars for 2 days for sightseeing & had no problems w/parking near the apt. The apt is located in walking distance to Como and the restaurants, shops & the ferry station. If you have never been to European cities keep in mind the businesses shut down for lunch/break times so plan accordingly when wanting to shop and etc. We would do things early & eat while the businesses close, restaurants stay open & then you can relax for lunch. Apt mgr was great w/communicating to us if we had any needs or questions. We would stay here again for sure.

Lovely place to be based to explore Como and the lake, as other have said quite a few steps up from town, so moderate fitness required. Would recommend.

Host charged us money for damage previous guests had done and admitted it. VRBO has done nothing to help us.
