Stayed here 4 years ago and it was better. Pool closed in 110 temp. AC didn’t get very cold, people next to us loud, banging car stereo, drug users, parked over the line or in straight on diagonal spots. Rooms smelt musty

Nice, roadside hotel. They pool is being repaired and is now closed (early May 2025). Old but highly functional rooms.

This has always been my go to hotel to stay in Yuma. I've stayed here at least 5 times prior. I was disappointed that when I stayed this time they no longer offer breakfast at the restaurant next door. They also tore out one of the pools and the other was empty, "under construction." There website did not indicate any of these changes. The room was also not as clean as they normally are.

Pool still not ready for use after almost a year. Staff try being helpful.

We had a bad experience with Expedia. Desk clerk was helpful tring to get Expedia to find us a place that had a pool and Expedia hung up on her before we could get a hotel with a pool. The Hotel pool is out of order until further notice.

It was an ok stay. The gym and pool are out of order. It would have been good to know in advance! These were 2 features we specifically wanted to use. It is a bit dated. Cable tv and no streaming services, Lamps were worn so the plugs and USB didn’t work,

Cheap, clean (but one dead cockroach in the bathtub - can't stop that), weak breakfast, good location, pool not available, good wifi.

Found cockroachs in the room more then one location. We had to move rooms twice. On the last day we had to leave at night after Thanksgiving dinner. Bed want made. We notify them at 9am and when we got back to the room at 9pm. Nothing was done

Many of the reviews were good so we booked a room for one quick night passing through but it was a bad choice! They gave us room 130 which was down the street from the lobby and the main part of the hotel and there was a lot of loud partying going on all night long and people coming in and out of the room next-door to us. The walls were thin and the interior was very worn down and the window lock was even broken. If you decide to stay here, I would definitely ask for a room near the check-in lobby. However, unfortunately, I do not recommend this hotel. It could be cute because it’s historic, but there’s a lot of riffraff going on there and it didn’t feel secure or clean! Really disappointing.

The place was run down and terribly out dated. Pool was empty and dirty. I left after one night. This place horrible.

This motel should not be on Hotels.com. Let me start by saying that I don't believe it was the fault of the woman at the front desk. She tried to make our stay ok, but the motel itself was disgusting. The first room we went into had a queen bed, cigarette butts, a dirty q-tip, and other trash outside the door area. Plus, there were sketchy men hanging out. Went back to desk and she gave us a different room in the same section of the motel that had a king bed supposedly. The key unlocked the door, but the door would not open. It appeared to be bolted from the inside and that somewas in there. Went back again to desk. She gave us a 2 bedroom in the main area of the hotel, and we thought initially that it was okay. We took off our shoes to relax and soon discovered that the floor was filthy. My husband showed me the bottom of his feet and they were like he had been running around barefoot in dirt. He said the floor felt gritty. My feet were equally filthy. There was shampoo in the shower container, but no soap, no ther bars of soap available at either sink. The control of the faucet on the sink was facing off to the side. There was some name etched into the mirror frame. This motel is in a sorry state, and apparently the management doesn't care enough to bring it back up to at least a clean and repaired level. I hate to leave bad reviews, but couldn't let this one go.

I dislike leaving a negative review, but I hope management can learn from feedback. Our sheets and towels were dingy and stained, and there were scribbled markings behind the door in our room. After walking barefoot in the room, my feet were as dirty as if I had walked on the street! The front desk staff who checked us in was friendly and provided excellent customer service. However, I am not sure if management truly cares about the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel rooms. We left around 11:00 AM for the day and returned at about 12:30 AM. Our room had not been serviced; no clean towels were provided, and the linens were not changed. A dead roach was still in the corner of our room, and the trash had not been taken out. This was such a disappointment because the place looks really cool from the outside.

Have stayed at the Coronado several times in the past. Try to keep my dollars local. But the hotel maintenance gets worse every year. DIRTY parking area and dirty room in general.

This is tough. I wanted to love my stay and many things were great! Let's start there. Bed was comfy as could be and zero signs of bed bugs! I even got upgraded to a king size by the kind lady at the front desk. Loved it! Room was spacious. It had a desk, office chair, comfortable sitting chair, dresser, 2 nightstands, decent sized TV, microwave, refrigerator, a big closet, everything you expect to find in a room, dispensers full of soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo, and the bathroom was a great size with a jetted tub. Should have been amazing! Unfortunately, it's all very run down. Very old, very dirty, broken furnishings, etc. The tub was plugged and full of standing water from the constant dripping of the faucet (decided against using the jetted tub), the toilet handle was so broken it was hanging off, the shelving in the bathroom was broken in half, the room was missing the smoke detector and left exposed wiring, and the carpet had wet spots. The hotel is also in a less than desirable neighborhood. My problem for not checking first! There was also NO seal around the door so all the heat, cigarette smoke, and noise were also present inside. Super disappointed when there is SO much potential here. Would not return for another stay.

While the bed was thankfully clean, everything else was pretty much disgusting. No effort was made to keep the walking areas free from stains and the parking lot free from debris. I don’t know how this place gets the reviews that it does. Perhaps because of the recent change in ownership/management

Do not be deceived by the good reviews of the hotel. Carpet, walls were dirty and smelled bad. Very outdated. Bad neighborhood, very noisy. Homeless wondering around parking lot. Very close to prison.

Check in was great. Room at first glance was clean. Shower drained VERY SLOW. I was standing in 5” of water for a short shower. Towels were low quality. Fire Station was very close and went out of 5 VERY LOUD runs during the night. Street noise of loud cars & trucks was EXTREME ! We felt we were awake more than we slept. We will not return to this location.

I have stayed at the Coronado Motor lodge 6 or 7 times now over the last 5 years while getting dental work done in Algondones, Mexico. I love the fact you can pull right up to your room for easy access to your car and unloading. The rooms are clean, the tv's are large, I had a super comfortable king bed with 7 pillows. My furniture was vintage, possibly original but very cool and sturdy. A desk to work on and a little refrigerator. Can hardly wait for another cavity.

Room was clean and comfortable. Only drawback was noise. People next door had their tv on all night and disturbed our sleep. For the price, and the location, the Historic Coronado Motor Hotel suited our needs but would not want to stay too many nights.

Do NOT book in furthest-away block from lobby, rms 126-139! We were in 130: Tight parking; no water in pool or spa; talk etc. audible from outside & through walls, loud music & vehicles, Had to SLAM doors to close; dispensers missing shower gel, lotion, shampoo--or didn't work; low, creaky toilet; desk lamp out; only 1 washcloth; phone didn't work; "breakfast" minimal. BUT, kind & friendly desk folks; good price; convenient location; good bed. Glad we brought earplugs.

Spacious room but worn, stained carpet, woodwork in need of sanding and painting. Overall, condition a bit tired. Also, definite street noise.

I have been straying at the Coronado 4-6 times each year for the last ten years. Since it sold, the TV and ice machine don't work, the breakfast is sad, the cleaning is questionable. The front office staff continue to be friendly and helpful and do everything they can to make the visits comfortable. I will stay loyal a few more times and then change my habits if the transition doesn't see improvement.

I love this place due to is historic ambiance. My room was clean and the bed comfortable, wi-fi was fast and easy to access. Show water pressure was not great but, not a huge issue for me. It was a classic sunken tile shower. The downside was the chair and table outside my room, there was an ashtray on the table full of butts & ashes. Also, a big spill stain of "something" just at the entrance of the door to my room, I tried not to look at it. Lastly, my neighbors had people knocking on their door well after 10 PM, for a minute I thought it might be my door it was so loud. I could hear them talking in and outside of the room for a few minutes. Fortunately it didn't last too long. I've stayed here in the past and would stay again because of the value, the rooms are clean and comfortbale and the location is good dpending upon where and what you're doing in Yuma.

This was once a favorite place of ours but it is now run down and unsafe. An unknown person unlocked our door and tried to enter our room at 6 AM. The security chain and our yelling stopped her. She yelled: " Sorry, I thought it was my room." How is it possible that another guest has a key that unlocks our door? I asked that question and was told that management would call me. That has not happened. There is also a lack of maintainence and clean up. Trash piles and overflowing garbage cans are scattered around. The former owners kept the facility worthy of its Historic Designation and a delightful place to stay. I hope the new owners can resolve the safety issues and restore the property condition. It is scary to stay there now, not knowing who has a key to your room and when they will use it.

I tried to call with a late check in due to working in that area after traveling from Phoenix to lake havasu and then to stay here. Noone answered at the dook. I pressed the ring button 2x and finally the guy who answered told me they were closed at 430am. Mind you i reserved the room days agead.... i need a refund!!!

Staff were informative and helpful. Allocated a different room further from the road when requested

The front desk check in clerk was so very kind. I had arrived around 9pm and never been to Yuma before. She made check I super smooth and even offered me coffee which is exactly what I needed after a long drive. I will be staying at this property every time I am in town!

Stayed here before some great service

Checking in late is a nightmare because you have to call a phone number and hope they answer, then later someone shows up to give you the key. Card key also stopped working and I couldn’t get back in to my room, and again had to call the number and no answer. I finally got a call back after I had called the non-emergency police since my belongings where in the room.

There was no one there to check us in. It said push the ring bell I did three times no one came. There was a phone number to call that number was not operable and was unable to take any more messages. I called the number on the hotel.com reservation and they said they needed my confirmation number which I didn’t have. All I had was a itinerary number. By the time a half hour went by. I’m trying to figure it out. Some guy walked out of one of the hotel rooms and said can I help you and I said well we’re trying to check in. He said oh the guys in the room over here he’ll be right out 15 minutes later he was not out and we drove away. By then the seven year old was crying.

The property has recently changed ownership so there are probably some things to work out as they mature. They don’t seem to have enough staff to keep all the rooms and surrounding areas always clean. There were piles of dirt and cigarette butts near my room almost the entire stay. Other rooms had trash in front of them for days. The breakfast buffet is not nearly as appealing as the breakfast that was previously offered in the restaurant next door. The buffet is actually the poorest buffet I have seen at any restaurant, whereas the previous restaurant choices were excellent. The price is lower so that helps compensate for changes. The front desk staff was excellent too and they all tried to solve the problems.

I have stayed here numerous times, and I would like to commend two employees who deserve a 10 star for their customer service! Nancy and Jennifer are two amazing, caring and totally customer focused when it comes to anyone who stays here! Amazing employees who deserved to be recognized for their dedication! The property really needs to be cleaned up! Trash barrels overflowing, grass clippings all over and having to ask to get the trash emptied is not the customers responsibility! You need to bring back the breakfast at the bar across the street if you want all the loyal customers who have stayed here for years to return! I have seen a decline in the regulars who I have stayed with for a long time! Bring it back and your rooms will fill up!! I stay here 4-5 times a year 3-4 days at a time and what brought me here was the nice breakfast and friendly staff! If you want business, then you need to look at the old owners' ways that kept loyal customers coming back. She always had a pretty full house with the perks, staff and better groundskeeping! I recommended numerous friends to stay here because of the nice breakfast that was offered! Now that you have discontinued it, I may go elsewhere since I can get a better continental breakfast down the street at a cleaner place! I am just one of many loyal customers that is upset about the changes that have been made. Spend a buck make more bucks!

We stayed here because it was a good location near good restaurants and dog friendly. It is an older property, next to a main street, so was quite noisy at times. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, but the outdoor trash cans were overflowing. It is likely due for some exterior renovation. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

We love the location bar and diner within walking distance.

Great location, close to the freeway.

I was comfortable and slept well for my one-night stay at the Coronado Motor Hotel. I appreciate that they are refurbishing the hotel, and it appears to be still in process. It is a very good location, and I walked into the historic downtown for shopping and dinner. The hotel itself is quite large, and the room perfectly suited my needs. I would consider staying here again when I pass through Yuma because of it's location and fair pricing.

This is an older drive in motel, so the car was close to the room which was nice. My room had not been recently renovated but was very comfortable and everything worked including the WiFi, and the hot water was almost instant. The hotel breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. The only real disappointment was that the pool was closed. The historic Landing Restaurant across the street was friendly with good food (and all day breakfast). The Coronado Hotel is close to all the Yuma Historic Main Street restaurants which was a big plus. The nearby river front park is a great place for a morning run from the hotel. If you like the character of an older facility this is a great option.

It's a historic building, room a bit of tight, easy access within the town with ample parking. Excellent complimentary breakfast with sit in and order in the next building which also owned by the hotel.

Close to downtown Yuma

Room was good. Needs renovation. Bring back the full breakfast at Yuma Landing. Continental breakfast not good.

This is my third year staying here. The interior of the room is getting tired. DEFINITELY need the carpets replaced or CLEANED. Not impressed with the continental breakfast compared to previous years which was excellent. Again, a definite let down.

The room was extremely outdated. The shower was small with a broken drain plate and it would not drain. The shower head was low. The exterior of the hotel needed some attention. It had debris blown around the entrance of the room and the tiles had not been cleaned in a very long time. Exterior taps were leaking. Pool was empty, not one drop of water in it. Breakfast was not there when told it would be available. No one was in the lobby at 6:40. Was told it would be ready at 6:30. Doors were locked and dark inside. Do not stay here. Upon looking at the reviews and analyzing what we could have missed, most of the reviews were from a Lisa or an Eva, leaving 10 out of 10 reviews.

Really showing its age. Very nice bed and bedding. Breakfast was yogurt, packaged muffins, frozen pancakes, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, and choice of fruit - apple, banana, or orange. Orange juice also was available. Miss the free breakfast at the corner restaurant!
