Auberge de Jeunesse HI Annecy

Säkert bra boende för ungdomar men för en barnfamilj var detta inget optimalt alternativ. Låg bekvämlighet och smidighet. Snål frukost.

The facility was advertised with 'Restaurant' and 'Bar'. After a long day on the motorbike all we wanted, was a meal with a beer. Not able to speak french we didn't realize 'Auberge de Jeunesse' means 'Youth hostel'. Being a hostel NO towels were provided. Absolute disaster and I wouldn't recommend the accommodation to anyone.

I appreciated that the staff allowed me to store my luggage and also offered me a shower, which was helpful. However, overall the experience was very disappointing in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The common shower area was not clean, and even the one in my room did not feel comfortable to use barefoot. It felt more like a poorly maintained shared space than a proper bathroom. The bed sheets appeared clean at first, but there were small hairs, which gave an impression of poor hygiene. The floor (including the hallway/étage) had a strong unpleasant smell and seemed affected by humidity and lack of maintenance. The floor in my room also did not feel clean. The building itself is very old and poorly maintained. While the location is beautiful, with a nice view and terrace, the condition of the property does not reflect that. Breakfast was included but very limited. Some staff interactions also felt quite strict, such as being told not to take more than one croissant. In my opinion, the place may be acceptable for a very short stay, but it is not comfortable or good value for more than one night. Unfortunately, I would not choose to book this accommodation again.

Very cosy! Breakfast could have a little more variety but in general, great experience! Would come back, Annecy is amazing
