Overall a great place to stay. Great space and nice furnishings inside and out. I gave cleanliness a 4 because the outside decking was really dirty. Although there was access to the lake and dock, it was very dangerous and needs repair.

We loved the view of the frozen lake. The fireplace was very cozy and really made the room. Great location with some nice restaurants. Overall and very beautiful and comfortable home.

Beautiful property inside and out! House was very clean upon arrival. Enough beds and baths for everyone. Very comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen. There was even a set of kiddie plates, cups, utensils, which we appreciated. The (private) lake was very clean (we were amazed at the lack of weeds in the water which is typical for most lakes / ponds) and quiet (no motor boats allowed, there were times when we were on the (provided) paddle-boards and kayaks and felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves). Close to grocery and shopping stores and ice cream. We did a hike in a nearby state park and also did a "hike with llama's" which was also very close by. Awesome experience! We had a couple friends, and then our kids, join us for different nights during the week. One of our kids brought their small dog for a couple nights which was very convenient. Another brought their 1 & 1/2 year old baby. Overall great stay! Highly recommended!

The house was in great shape on the inside, plenty of room. The lower level is a bit damp, but overall the place has lots of amenities. Lots of options for paddleboards and kayaks. The outside needs some updating and a power wash on the deck would go a long way. The lake was lovely and Newtown has lots of great options for everything. The management company responded very quickly to all my messages.

This house was perfect for 5 adults, an infant, and 2 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and conducive to making meals, with inside and outside eating options. Great views of the lake from everywhere in the house. One downside was access to the lake. Fairly treacherous getting into the water, although we managed and of course easier for the dogs to jump in from the dock. Also, very close and open to neighbors on one side. We were fortunate to have friendly people in the house next door.

Property and home are beautiful. The larger home on adjacent property (Sunny Day) is close and if a larger group is staying there can be loud in the tranquil setting during the day. Otherwise, the setting is beautiful and the house was perfect for our family of 6 (3 couples). We enjoyed the kayak, paddle board, fishing, evening fire pit and views from upstairs deck and downstairs patio.

The property is as wonderful as the pictures show. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for us to prepare many meals. We ate outside on the deck overlooking the lake. There is plenty of room to spread out. Three full baths were perfect for us and our adult children. Only downside was there is no bathroom on the main living floor- not a problem for us but it could be if you are traveling with someone who has issues with stairs. It was unanimous we will stay here again.

Great location on Taunton Lake. Access to kayaks and fishing poles. I actually caught a fish! Accommodations are comfortable. Please make sure to note ( as described in listing) there is no bathroom on main level. Persons with limited mobility or disability may find this difficult. There is a stair mobility chair going up to master bedroom, but it is not functional. Overall, the cottage is great and I would stay there again.

I spent a week at the Cottage at Sunny Day in mid January and it was just what I was looking for. I wanted a quiet, relaxing retreat in a beautiful location. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Everything was provided, and there was a great fireplace and a beautiful view of Lake Taunton. Jenna and Tony were very nice and easy to deal with and made sure that everything was perfect. It would be a great stay at any time, but would be especially nice in the warm weather with direct access to the Lake. I intend to return and I would certainly recommend the Cottage at Sunny Day for anyone looking for a great getaway. I would also recommend Jenna and Tony as great Premier Hosts.

The Villa was as advertised. The property manager was helpful and on point. The property is beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and tree-ridden. The lake is tranquil. We swam in its chilly waters and kayayed it on an afternoon. We hope to return. :)

My husband and I had the most amazing time at this lake front property. The cottage is in pristine condition, everything was modern and very clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were equiped with everything you could wish for. The location right on the lake was awesome with supermarkets and stores not far away from the cottage. A big "thank you" also to the property managers, who were, once again, very helpful and responsive with all questions that we had. We can absolutely recommend and will definitely book again!

This property was very new and clean. It had everything you needed. Every room was comfortable and had its own TV. The open layout of the main floor made for great socializing and eating, and the 180 views of the frozen lake (in February) were beautifully serene. Would definitely come again and maybe next time in the summer! Thanks you for sharing this lovely property.

Our stay at the Sunny Day Cottage surpassed all expectations. It is a fantastic lake side home and in a beautiful scenic location. The owner has done an amazing job of furnishing, decorating, cleaning and stocking the cottage, with a keen awareness of what guests need and want in a vacation rental. The kitchen in particular was well supplied for all of our culinary needs. A perfect location for various day trips, and a notebook was provided with detailed recommendations for outdoor adventures, sights to see, shopping and places to eat. The house, property and Lake are all beautiful and in a serene, quiet setting. We really enjoyed our time away as a couple. House is recently remodeled, and in excellent condition and property management team was responsive to any questions or minor issues we had. The one item to be noted about this house is that there’s no bathroom on the main level. You must go upstairs or downstairs to access one. Other than that, this was a perfect setting.

We stayed in this cottage over a long weekend in August and it was exactly what we had hoped for - clean, spacious, and full of lakefront beauty (and activities). Communication with the management co was easy and relatively quick…we’d definitely rebook this cottage! Only bummer was that we had one wildlife visitor we hadn’t expected appear in one of the downstairs bedrooms but otherwise we all had a great time.

A lovely place but a lot of stairs - there is a broken stair lift for the upstairs bedroom - no bathroom on the main floor so for anyone with knee etc issues, this is not the place to stay- beautiful home and location - fully equipped kitchen and comfortable stay otherwise - perfect for warmer months with lake activities

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Cottage during our recent visit to CT for our son's college graduation. The views of the lake from the living room, the deck and the patio with fire pit are great and very peaceful. The kitchen was nicely outfitted with everything needed to cook and prepare meals. The only drawback was that there were no closets or chest of drawers in the (2) basement bedrooms. There was no place to unpack and hang our clothes for the 4 days we were there; the only closet was in the loft bedroom which had a large walk-in. Overall, a nice play to stay for a family when in the Newton area.

House is recently remodeled, and in excellent condition and property management team was responsive to any questions or minor issues we had. The one item to be noted about this house is that there’s no bathroom on the main level. You must go upstairs or downstairs to access one. Other than that, this was a perfect setting.

The property is as wonderful as the pictures show. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for us to prepare many meals. We ate outside on the deck overlooking the lake. There is plenty of room to spread out. Three full baths were perfect for us and our adult children. Only downside was there is no bathroom on the main living floor- not a problem for us but it could be if you are traveling with someone who has issues with stairs. It was unanimous we will stay here again.

Newtown is a special New England village that was founded in 1705. This 3-bedroom house on a small lake was perfect for 6 of us to relax in between family activities around the area. Best for folks who can handle steps. Gorgeous main, open living space takes up entire main floor where we played games, watched tv, cooked, ate and read. Recommended.

the Cottage at Sunny Day was very lovely...we had a fantastic time riding our motorcycles throughout the state and beyond to upper NY as well....A great THANK YOU to our hosts who supplied the "Perfect Weather" for the week. It was and extremely peaceful and relaxing vacation and the house was spacious enough for us all!! The hosts were extremely responsive to our queries and any assistance we may have needed. If we get back into the area would love to book another stay.

The house was beautiful! The setting was serene with lake views from every window. The house was fully stocked with kitchen supplies! We enjoyed our stay! Communication woth the property was easy. The location was close to town so we also ventured out to some great local restaurants.

We were in town for 4 days visiting family in late October, 4 adults. House is extremely nice, right on the lake with gorgeous views. Very quite area. We had a fire alarm go off and the property manager called us within seconds and helped us figure it out. Still not sure why it went off but it was nice knowing they were in contact immediately. House has everything you could possibly need. Beds were super comfortable. We will hopefully be back next fall.

The house was in great shape on the inside, plenty of room. The lower level is a bit damp, but overall the place has lots of amenities. Lots of options for paddleboards and kayaks. The outside needs some updating and a power wash on the deck would go a long way. The lake was lovely and Newtown has lots of great options for everything. The management company responded very quickly to all my messages.

Our stay at the Sunny Day Cottage surpassed all expectations. It is a fantastic lake side home and in a beautiful scenic location. The owner has done an amazing job of furnishing, decorating, cleaning and stocking the cottage, with a keen awareness of what guests need and want in a vacation rental. The kitchen in particular was well supplied for all of our culinary needs. A perfect location for various day trips, and a notebook was provided with detailed recommendations for outdoor adventures, sights to see, shopping and places to eat. I spent a week at the Cottage at Sunny Day in mid January and it was just what I was looking for. I wanted a quiet, relaxing retreat in a beautiful location. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Everything was provided, and there was a great fireplace and a beautiful view of Lake Taunton. Jenna and Tony were very nice and easy to deal with and made sure that everything was perfect. It would be a great stay at any time, but would be especially nice in the warm weather with direct access to the Lake. I intend to return and I would certainly recommend the Cottage at Sunny Day for anyone looking for a great getaway. I would also recommend Jenna and Tony as great Premier Hosts.

Beautiful property, excellent communication with property manager, responses back to us within minutes. He helped me with some VRBO charges that were not in the original quote. Guests should note there is no bathroom on main level, only upstairs and downstairs. Thanks for a great stay!

The Villa was as advertised. The property manager was helpful and on point. The property is beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and tree-ridden. The lake is tranquil. We swam in its chilly waters and kayayed it on an afternoon. We hope to return. :)

This home is a lovely place to relax and the living room was the perfect spot to unwind. It is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, with a lovely lakefront view and quick access to Newtown's shops and restaurants. The owner was very responsive and kind. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood with pretty lake vistas all along the way. A great place to stay with family.

Beautiful property inside and out! House was very clean upon arrival. Enough beds and baths for everyone. Very comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen. There was even a set of kiddie plates, cups, utensils, which we appreciated. The (private) lake was very clean (we were amazed at the lack of weeds in the water which is typical for most lakes / ponds) and quiet (no motor boats allowed, there were times when we were on the (provided) paddle-boards and kayaks and felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves). Close to grocery and shopping stores and ice cream. We did a hike in a nearby state park and also did a "hike with llama's" which was also very close by. Awesome experience! We had a couple friends, and then our kids, join us for different nights during the week. One of our kids brought their small dog for a couple nights which was very convenient. Another brought their 1 & 1/2 year old baby. Overall great stay! Highly recommended!

The cottage is in pristine condition, everything was modern and very clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were equiped with everything you could wish for. The location right on the lake was awesome with supermarkets and stores not far away from the cottage. A big "thank you" also to the property managers, who were, once again, very helpful and responsive with all questions that we had. We can absolutely recommend and will definitely book again!

This house was perfect for 5 adults, an infant, and 2 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and conducive to making meals, with inside and outside eating options. Great views of the lake from everywhere in the house. One downside was access to the lake. Fairly treacherous getting into the water, although we managed and of course easier for the dogs to jump in from the dock. Also, very close and open to neighbors on one side. We were fortunate to have friendly people in the house next door.

Property and home are beautiful. The larger home on adjacent property (Sunny Day) is close and if a larger group is staying there can be loud in the tranquil setting during the day. Otherwise, the setting is beautiful and the house was perfect for our family of 6 (3 couples). We enjoyed the kayak, paddle board, fishing, evening fire pit and views from upstairs deck and downstairs patio.

The best appointed kitchen ever. Comfortable furniture and beds There are four tv’s but only the great room tv was usable because we attached our lap top via an hdmi cord. There was no way we could reach the back of the bedroom tv’s to properly insert our streaming stick. TV’s are too difficult to manage due to the need to use our own streaming sticks. Instructions to make this connection especially in the bedrooms would have been helpful. Also, we would have enjoyed the surround sound experience if instructions had been available as to how to connect to the Bluetooth speakers. The views from the house and patio are wonderful. We all had a great time. Thank you for opening your cottage for our enjoyment. We highly recommend this property for hearty folks who can easily walk up and down stairs Dinner 4-6.

We stayed in early May, so didn't get to enjoy the lake, other than the serene view from the many windows in the house. Bird lovers will enjoy the many, many birds observable through the sliding glass doors and audible constantly. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked with what we needed to cook our meals. We found plenty of places to hike. We found the description on vrbo a little confusing because the house next door was also pictured. We figured it out, though.

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Cottage during our recent visit to CT for our son's college graduation. The views of the lake from the living room, the deck and the patio with fire pit are great and very peaceful. The kitchen was nicely outfitted with everything needed to cook and prepare meals. The only drawback was that there were no closets or chest of drawers in the (2) basement bedrooms. There was no place to unpack and hang our clothes for the 4 days we were there; the only closet was in the loft bedroom which had a large walk-in. Overall, a nice play to stay for a family when in the Newton area.

It is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, with a lovely lakefront view and quick access to Newtown's shops and restaurants. The owner was very responsive and kind. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood with pretty lake vistas all along the way. A great place to stay with family.
This home is a lovely place to relax and the living room was the perfect spot to unwind. The kitchen was amazing and well laid out. House was very clean and spacious. One downside of rental is no bathroom on main floor but they were clean and well stocked. I brought a folding cart with me that made it easier to unload car since parking is above the house. The path to the house was paved and was handicap accessible.(made things much easier). I would recommend the place to friends and family .

The house and property are very well maintained. It snowed during our stay and within hours the driveway and parking area were plowed. We will definitely stay here again.
