Rodeway Inn La Crosse

The hotel refused to let me cancel a 3 night stay within 24 hours of booking when my plans changed. It was weeks before the trip was planned. I wasn't going to lose all of that money & pay for another hotel so I decided to stay there anyway. The office was infested with fruit flies. The room was filthy with a sticky floor and the bathroom was dirty. There was no ice machine. The staff had a freezer in the office where they made their own ice. They wouldn't let me take a full bucket of ice, just what I needed for my cup. The ice cubes were all frozen together so we had break them up. Then the staff member touched the ice with his bare hands to give it to me. I declined that ice. I slept in my clothes and left first thing the next morning. My friends that I was meeting in town had much nicer accommodations and were nice enough to let me stay with them the rest of the weekend.

I wasn't expecting a palace here. The price was low - but still, there's lots of room for improvement. The bathroom was like walking into a 5 x 5 closet. No room for anything. Shower worked but water pressure not great and the shower was dirty. No fan in the bathroom so you get a foggy mirror and humid bathroom. The AC worked but was super loud and seemed it had to run constantly to do anything. Probably has never been cleaned. The bed was surprisingly comfortable - the only real plus. Room had a 40" LCD TV but the cable service (Spectrum) was horrible - you couldn't use the built in "guide" - pressing the arrow keys to scroll up or down on the guide would just change channels. The Wi-Fi was okay but disconnected me often. Sketchy people hanging around the property. There were also several disabled cars (one had no wheels and was on a jack like they were using the parking lot as a junkyard) parked in spots supposed to be for guests. And while they claim to be smoke free, the 1st thing I smelled when I walked in my room was weed (pot). Walking out my door, greeted by a guy with no shirt on smoking like a chimney in the morning is not my idea of a good time or inviting environment. Very noisy neighbors, talking loudly and slamming doors all hours of the night. I'd stay here again if it was JUST me - but no way would I bring my kids here.

Clean

There was mold and dirt in the shower, dead bugs and live spiders in the room. Spilled drinks from whoever stayed in the room before us on the nightstand, that we cleaned up. If you can stay somewhere else, do it.

Beds were comfortable but had a very strong bleach smell that gave me a headache. The picture on Expedia makes it look better than it actually was and on their website. There were bugs in the corner by the bathtub on the floor, caulk around sink looked terrible. We heard from family the reputation this motel had but it looks like they’re trying to clean it up. We would not stay here again.

NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE. This place looks like a transient place and it was disgusting. Floors not cleaned, bathroom like a subway station one, shower was gross. I have never stayed so horrible of a place in my life.

Property was dirty. Room was dirty...from floor to dresser to bathroom. Definitely do not reccomend.

First of all, this is 'long term' rental/flop facility. The pictures and the write up on Hotels.com were almost all false, w/ the exception of the location. The lobby was filthy and messy, our room had green mold in the tub and every towel was dirty and scattered, as though they'd been used and not replaced. We slept in our clothes and left at the very first sign of daylight. We used the stool and bathroom sink, that was all. We did not have any other options for places to stay that were under $600 (this was an unplanned stop) and to think that we paid a NON-refundable $222 before we saw the place should be considered some sort of theft. I would steer so far clear of this place. And Hotels.com should NOT affiliate w/ them - bad business. Way too deceiving. The picture that is on this page looks like a 1/2 way decent room. It's photoshopped to appear 'soft/clean'. Steer Clear!

The room was dirty, the showerhead didn’t work correctly, there was only one lamp in the whole room, but the room was large.

Room - especially floor, was not clean. Toilet was crooked and not properly attached. Very run down.

Very old and outdated rooms. Not worth $63 at all. Should be $35 at most.

The owners were so nice I wish I could have better things to say about the stay. Hoping they cab get assistance to bring this place up to par - it clearly had not been maintain before they came along. The room had been smoked in and the had not been fully cleaned (hair in the bathroom, dirty floor etc). But the bed sheets were clean which is the most important, so it was fine for one night. I know this was on the affordable end ($80), but I’ve stayed in places for the same rate in great condition and super clean.

It was good. A/c worked great!!

It's a dive motel but it was clean and the showers had good water pressure. The bed and pillows were comfortable as well. There was a little smell of stale cigarette smoke but that's typical of somewhere this inexpensive. If you really want to save money, this place is an acceptable option for visiting La Crosse.

I am in a wheelchair. The listing said it was accessible, but when I got there I couldn't even access the lobby (step up) and the bathroom was too small for someone in a wheelchair tto use. Also the bed was too high to be able to transfer onto.

Noisy is an understatement. We were given a first floor room near the office. And the amount of noise that came from the upstairs place was awful. The curtains were not dark enough. We covered them up with towels. The TV was another story. The remote and tv didn't work together at all.

I found a used needle in my room with blood still in it (ON TOP OF THE MINI FRIDGE), a pair or dirty socks and dirty floors that have not been mopped. Probably was barely swept but certainly not mopped. Was also threatened with a police call for not checking out at 11am. I tried to speak with the owner about my dissatisfaction but was refused a conversation with management.

This facility is NOT as described. We checked in went to our room and immediately started calling around for a different place to stay. I went to the office to let the clerk know we were leaving . He was understanding and said he would refund my deposit. I later found out from an Uber driver that motel is where people are given vouchers to stay after release from jail or other institutions. Overall , we did not feel safe.

I have had a horrible stay here. Refrigerator too loud ac way too loud. Power went out out in iutlet and not worth money paid. They’ve been giving me hard time bout leaving today. I’ve t this. This is not good for my mental health! Please they are going to kick me out! Help! I’ve been dealing with harassment from them about this. It would really help me if you can honor a night for me because I haven’t been able to set up anywhere else to stay yet today. I’ve been dealing with this since last night. Please honor a night for me cuz they want me to checkout. My nerves are going to start on fire. I need to figure this out. I will take business elsewhere if not honored another night. I hope you do respectable thing. Thank you! I will take business

Staff is very friendly

You get what you pay for. I thought I had really gotten a good deal price wise, but I got what I paid for. Nothing wrong with the room, we only slept there. If I want anything more, I need to pay for it. Staff was friendly.

Great place a taco johns right next door and a smoke shop near it

I didn’t actually stay and sadly could not get a refund. We felt so unsafe just pulling up to the motel.

Liked that we could get a room...after midnight..surrounding area run down..unit was fine...but could use an update to room. Served our needs..slept fine.
