LAX guest house

We wouldn't stay at LA guest house anymore. There is 1 bathroom sink for 16 people! The bathroom upstairs has NO sink! After using the toilet you'd have to go to the bathroom downstairs which is often occupied. People were told by management to brush their teeth in the kitchen or outside in a filthy utility sink. Unbelievable conditions! We had the private room downstairs, people who had early work shifts talked in the kitchen and hallway right next to our room before 4 am. This place should not be on Expedia!

Parking is hard to find and the local police like to write tickets-there is a sticker/decal program.

Private rooms don't have private baths as advertised. Only two bathrooms at this subpar accommodation. The one on the 2nd fl has no sink, has a shower stall with no shelf for soap & sliding door that doesn't have a real lock. You aren't guaranteed a rm even if you paid in advance b/c it's first come, first served. I saw a traveler sleeping on the old couch in the small common area late at night b/c there were no more beds. Guests aren't permitted to use the washer & dryer, despite them being listed as amenities. There's no 24-hour front desk. Lockers are outside...but property isn't secure & it's not in a safe neighborhood. Rude, unpleasant guy who works there doesn't answer the phone & just watches TV.

The host was really nice and the room was clean. But the second floor bathroom was broken so all the people in the hostel had just one bathroom to use which was a bit uncomfortable and led to long bathroom queues

There was only street parking available. I was told it isnt enforced. I still got a ticket. We were woken up to an actual fight happening in one of the rooms or the hallway. Not entirely sure because i wasnt going to stick my head out to see. No one did anythig to stop it. It was awful. There was only one working shower in the whole place and when we went to get bathed before checking out, an employee told me he was about to get in so my husband wasnt even able to shower before check out. We have stayed in guest houses all over the world and this was one of the worst experiences.

The staff were friendly, and the price was right. Everyone shares one shower, one bathroom sink and two toilets. Not the most convenient set up.

Showers needed a little work, and a sign out front would help during arrival, but it's a nice enough little room for a night or two.

When I check in late, they ask me to sleep on the couch because there are no beds available.I think they are habitually overbooked because there was a person sleeping on the sofa once every 5 days during my stay.The mattress is covered with plastic, so it makes noise when it is moved, but the manager, who is sleeping in the bed below, shouted at me, "Don't move, it's too noisy.We had to leave the inn at 6:00 a.m. and were not even allowed to move.The washing machine was marked as usable, but they did not let us use it.Cleanliness score is also low.No advantage other than cheap price.

This hotel had bed bugs. I literally had to run away at 2:30 in the morning (after a long flight from Europe) and find another hotel. There was no-one to speak to, they don't seem to have any staff just getting their long term residents to run the place. But at any rate it was 2:30 in the morning (which is actually 10.30 am back home) I needed to sleep and wasn't going to get into an argument or risk being moved to another room which would almost certainly have the same issue. They're now refusing to refund the stay, saying it's 'non-refundable' yeah except non-refundable typically means you can't cancel your stay because you feel like it, not no refunds once you find out our property's a health hazard. Utterly disgusting, why hotels.com hosts places like this I will never understand. And btw hotels.com have also refused to refund me, and are trying not to publish this review. So I guess they like sending customers to bed bugs infested hotels.

I stay here when I'm town. Love the staff. Not fancy but it's clean. A great place to grab a bed and a hot shower.

Didn't think it was worth what I paid for. Very unsanitary place. To bad Expedia never had a chance to see property before advertising it on site. I would take it down. Very dirty, trashy, stinky place. Room was not to standard house keeping. Linens were nasty looking. Sad I can't even get a refund of the cost I paid to stay there. False advertising . Thought my vacation was going to be a vacation. But to my surprise, had to find another place to stay Ended up rented at four point hotel, downtown LA.

The hostel was slightly hard to find. Didn’t look like much from the outside, but the host was great and the place was one of the Cleanest that I’ve ever stayed in. The place was cleaned every single day, by the host, and he was very friendly and helpful! The downstairs bathroom was immaculate-no lie! I had a private room(also very clean), and my privacy a big plus! Very reasonable pricing and I did book ahead. I had NO issues with my reservations, as I had read others did. Safety: locks and key codes and always someone on the premise. I walked West Century and Prairie, day & night (midnight after a concert at Kia Forum) and I felt safe as a female. I hardly ran into any sketchy people and I walked a lot in Inglewood and LA, in general. There were 2 toilets, 2 showers, 1 sink, & a kitchenette.( 1 shower was broken, but I was told upfront-so only a clean toilet upstairs.) Really with the amount of people there, I didn’t find this to be a problem. Stayed August 15-18, 2025. Funny: My last night, there was a loud snorer, but my door helped! A/C worked really well. The only issue that I ever had was a food delivery my last night there, but that had absolutely nothing to do with my host and I felt he would have stepped in if the problem had escalated. My time in LA was quite enjoyable and my accommodations added to my great time in LA! I would stay here again! Absolutely! Thank you to my host. :)

Very clean, quiet and excellent staff.

We paid for 7 days but had to sleep in our car because nobody wouldn’t answer the door. If you have any morals about yourself this anit it. People coming in and out like a prison or halfway house. Only one shower for numerous of people. It was insane to have to wait to use the bathroom everytime. I just wouldn’t recommend anybody to stay here not even for one night. Just way too many people in and out. The worst week I had in a long time. The reviews will throw you off but trust me them people that’s willing to stay in those conditions just don’t care where they lay their heads. We woke up one morning to ants everywhere all over our clothes and shoes smh it was just the worst

Every time we visit, the property is exceptionally clean, amazingly clean. This is due to the exceptional work of Mr. Decarlo. Constantly cleaning, sanitizing, washing, he is truely an asset to this housing. This facility is cleaner and more organized than a hospital. Sanitized to the hilt. Thank you DeCarlo

The price was great, the location close to buses and Dollar Store, but, unfortunately, either the bunk below me or my blankets, sheets, pillowcases, had bedbugs.

This property is not very clean. It had quite a bad smell and when I arrived my bed had to be remade with clean linen as it was still dirty from the last occupant. The first towel I was given was covered in paint but the second one I was given was clean. Also, the top bunks offer no privacy as they are not curtained off. Obviously this property is extremely cheap so I cannot complain too much. A warm shower and a bed to lay down on during a 6 hour layover in LAX was adequate and the proximity to the airport is great, however if you book this hostel do not expect it to be up to the standard of other hostels which are more expensive. Expect a dirty house turned into a hostel with a strange crowd in a bad neighbourhood.

We saw the pictures and were super excited about what we were getting! Once we arrived we noticed things were not looking right. Those luggage lockers were rusted. When walking in the entire place was hot. No A/C and the rooms had no fans either not to mention that it says private bathroom. LIE. The bathroom we were told to use was being used by the whole house. There were ugly dirty signs in every room talking about ways to do things with cleanliness and yet the place was dirty. Bathroom had wet floors shower mats wire hanging under the newly installed hand dryer. Our room looked nothing like what the pictures here show. It was completely altered. We had a random dresser shoved in the corner not even properly placed bed with no blankets as shown. Simply a throw blanket and an extra sheet. We asked other guests if the air ever gets turned on and we were told no its like this all the time. There is little air upon entering the front door and thats it. We didnt even stay after checking in, we left a few hours to do stuff and came back to pick up our stuff and leave the keys and go to a hotel. Do not recommend if you want cleanliness, comfort, privacy, and actual cozy habitability.

Great value for money. 2 improvements would be to: - have signage outside the hotel ie hotel name and point to entry - sell cheap earplugs. The traffic is quite loud

I am generally not picky at all and no place is perfect, especially when you are only paying $30. I assumed this place was more like a travel hostel... it was a house in a neighborhood that definitely had some halfway house vibes. The staff seemed friendly enough but seemed generally uncomfortable by my need to sleep all day (I had been traveling all night). I was the only woman that I was aware of other than one staff member, which was also uncomfortable for a woman traveling alone. Only coed rooms. My advice to future travelers - it wont be anything like you expect and you won't get a lot of sleep if you're sleeping in the day, just like most hostels. The area is a bit sketchy but there is an awesome papusaria next door. There is a shared bathroom, shower, kitchen, and wifi...so if the feeling of being a stranger in someone's house doesn’t bother you, it works. If you are picky at all...I promise, you will not enjoy it. If not, it's fine. For me, I ended up going back to the airport and got more rest there.

I do NOT recommend this guesthouse unless absolutely necessary. I stayed one night at the LAX Guesthouse on August 30 in order to catch an early-morning flight the next day. When I made the online booking earlier that day, there was just one bed left. When I arrived at the hostel in the afternoon, I immediately noticed an odor permeating the two-floor structure. It smelled like a combination of urine & laundry soap. (When I complained about the smell later, the staff claimed they couldn't smell anything, but this is ridiculous.) I checked in and was led to Room #3 on the 1st floor. The room was crammed with 3 bunk beds for six people. There was little space to move around. Towels and sheets are provided. There was no air-conditioning in the room, only one window. Unfortunately, directly outside the window is an outdoor space for guests, so it can be a bit noisy if there are people chatting outside (and there were). Although there is some shelving in the room, there is no lock-box for valuables of any kind, nor did the room door have a lock on it. Basically, apart from the front door, the hostel has no security. Other guests have complete access to your stuff. In the doorway of Room #3 sat a large oscillator fan, which was constantly on and set at maximum. It was either used for ventilation or to reduce the foul smell of urine/laundry soap. The fan is LOUD. It sounded like a small airplane propellor. Bring your ear plugs! Sturdy mattress n bed … nice n quiet

It’s fine for a hostel/guesthouse category. I booked a private room; bed had a bottom and top sheet, along with a questionably clean blanket (which I didn’t use). Staff was nice once they came out from hiding. There is no one who wants to answer the phone for service before or during the stay, because, as I was told, “some folks just don’t want to be bothered with the self-explanatory things.” This is the biggest problem for me.

When i made the reservation i thought i was sharing a room with 1 bunk bed but instead there were 3 bunkbeds.

Very friendly host, guest house was slightly hard to find. Was only given a thin sheet and blanket so it was a cold sleep. You get what you paid for.

Though the website said the desk was open 24 hours, when I got there around 1am no one was there to check me in, and all the beds were taken so I went and stayed somewhere else.

I booked with LAX guest house, paid for a room, but when I went to check-in they had my reservation, but had given up my room to someone else. The front desk attendant seemed disinterested and had a hard time communicating in English to do anything about the issue, I had to go find a room elsewhere.

I turned up out of hours after making a note in my booking about it to find no 24/7 front desk as advertised. Nobody to check me in, no note or key left. Another guest let me in while I tried to figure out another hotel to stay at - at 1.30am. All the while some guy is on his phone talking about taking people out so everyone’s scared of him. Expedia couldn’t help much and the hotel is refusing a refund even though we didn’t stay there. The place was filthy when I went in, super basic and not a professional service. 0/10.

If you must book here, don\'t arrive early or late, & bring toilet paper! I was arriving at LAX at 12:30 a.m. so I needed a secure bed to crash in. Expedia said "24-hour reception", so I paid for a reservation & added a note that I would be coming in late & to save my bed. When I arrived at 3, there was no staff, but the door was open, so I went in. There was no welcome note or explanation, but I found my name on a board under room #4, so I searched & found room #4 - all 4 beds were occupied! It was looking like another Uber & trying to find another hotel --at 3 a.m. On a whim, I opened another room and found an empty bed. The window was open, so it was 45 degrees, but by doubling one blanket & leaving all my clothes on, I could sleep. The following day, nature called, and I went to the bathroom to poop, only to discover there was no toilet paper. Downstairs, I met Alex, the dayshift worker, and mentioned the lack of T.P. His response was he didn\'t work nights, so it was not his responsibility. I mentioned the absence of a night-time receptionist and that my dorm bed seemed to have been given to someone else, and his response was: "It\'s first come, first serve & if you want better service, I should have booked a hotel." At 9:30 a.m., as I was leaving, a new guest arrived & Alex said, "You are too early; you have to leave & come back after 3 p.m. without offering to store luggage, which most hostels offer. So now you know the reasons for my first sentence!

The staff sold my son's room. the people were rude and we never got a response from them and Hotels.com had to find my son other accomadations

When i arrived, they declined my reservation due to overbooking. They helped me find a place closer by.

When I arrived they told me they didn't have the room I booked even though I booked it over a month in advance. I had to find somewhere else to stay. I saw the whiteboard they were using where they had scheduled three people to each private room and I guess they just gave it to whoever shows up first. Very rude.

Be prepared to be unwelcomed. Don’t be surprised if they’ve overbooked and you’re left in limbo. There’s an assistant manager, a black guy named Dee that is unapproachable, quick with you, and passive aggressive. There’s a manager that’s unwelcoming and walks around in a wife beater mean mugging guests. You won’t know she’s the manager until you address their mistreatment. Then she’ll be more than happy to tell you she’s the manager, and go on her power trip to put you out on the streets. They have NO empathy whatsoever.

The front desk receptionist was very kind , truely world class customer service he provided ,thank you for making me feel welcome!

We did not check in because the neighborhood was unsafe and there was no parking. Had to find another hotel. We are very disappointed and would like a refund.

My stay at the LA Guest House was pleasant over all. It is a Hostel with the usual hostel accommodations. Clean, comfy, casual. International travelers prevailed. Host was polite and watchful. Most challenging was finding the place...it is set back from Century Blvd by a small brick fenced parking lot. It is in the west corner of the cross street and the entry is in the cross street. But Google Maps helped. Parking is street parking . It is possible, but watch for the signs indicating no overnight parking or only 2 hours for a quick trip to LAit was perfect. It is central to public transportation as well as the freeways. When we stay at a hotel we expect friendliness over style. This one had it in spades.

The area is unsafe and the property hard to find. I walked in to someone’s living room in a building with the same number as the guest house. I was asked to go to a building in the back. It was unkempt and the shared space is untidy. No parking on the street for at least 4 blocks.

At first I didn’t know what to expect, but the hostel was nice. I was able to catch up on sleep on my 12 hour layover. There’s quite a few eateries and CVS within walking distance! Very convenient too.

You get what you pay for which is a place to sleep and shower. Pretty decent place, just don't expect too much. Was confused about the check in but I figured it out. And only a 20 minute walk to sofi stadium.
