Best Western Teal Lake Inn

No elevator so our room's window overlooked the parking lot where a motorcycle raced the motor around midnight to let us know they had a cycle. Unfortunately management has no control over boorish behavior

My stay at the Best Western Teal Lake Inn was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and efficient, making check-in a breeze. My room was spacious, exceptionally clean, had fast Wi-Fi and a comfortable bed. The hotel is in a central location to stores, restaurants, and gas stations. This location has two floors and no elevator which was disappointing but, there are not many steps to get to 2nd floor and the stairwells are located at both ends and middle of the 2nd floor which makes it convenient to get to either front desk, parking lot or ice machine, also on 1st floor, without doing a lot of walking. (You may request 1st floor accommodations or if needed, an accessible room.) There is a nice pool and workout room conveniently located next to the very spacious rest rooms also on 1st floor. The buffet style breakfast included eggs, link sausage, biscuts, gravy, a waffle maker, muffins, bread, a variety of cereal and instant hot cereal. Fruit and yogurt were also available. The coffee was available 24/7 (which was great), hot water for tea provided and orange juice and apple juice. The lobby has very comfortable sofas and chairs, a large flat screen tv, a faux fireplace and a work station desk with computer and printer! Needless to say, I will definitely be recommending this hotel.

Needs upgrades

Second stay in the suite was much better. Unfortunately, there were Cheetos in the sofa couch. We were able to get new linens for the sofa couch. An elevator is seriously needed for the facility.

For the last 16 years we have visited and stayed at other hotels. Teal Lake is far superior. The pool works. The gym is small but I only use the treadmill. The breakfast was warm and had many options.

Its a nice hotel for small town. However, they don’t have elevator and its hard for us old folks to go upstairs using the high stairs.😩

Currently renovating rooms. Nice new tub and shower surround and countertops. Nice clean room with comfortable beds. Pleasant staff. Waffles are good, coffee and eggs not so much.

Was good except the pool was to cold to get in.

This is a fine hotel to stay in. It's a bit dated but clean, quiet, friendly staff with plenty of parking. There is not much for food in the area.

For the price it was a very pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish the pool was heated but other than that decent place to stay.

For the most part the place was very clean but I marked it down to a 4 because the nightstand had spots on it that just wiped right off, as if they didn’t clean it. There were hairs in the shower and the toilet rim wasn’t cleaned. It just looked like the last clean was deficient so it’s probably not a chronic thing. The breakfast was great. Indoor swimming pool and exercise rooms looked nice. The staff were friendly. It is a great place for the price.

Well the staff was smoking pot outside when we came to check in, the facilities were a bit run down and there was a lady big infestation in our room. Not to mention the sheets had stains…

Room was dirty, bugs found on ceiling and wall. Found a dead bug in bed sheets. Staff at check in was unable to give information as to near by towns. She said was new to area and didn’t know about surroundings. The manager/or maintenance man when call to check on our infestation said absolutely nothing was rude. Surely the last time I will stay at BW. Will drive out of my way for a decent clean room. We got charged 50.00 extra for security that was to be eliminated within 24-36 hours, unfortunately that did not occur.

The rooms were very clean and the staff was amazing! Only issues were the ants that were all over the breakfast area. Climbing on my plate as I was filling it. And the beds were a little uncomfortable!

There were no towels in the room, and when i went to the front desk, they gave me some worn-out, thin old towels. The desk chair in my room looked like they pulled it out of a dumpster. I would attach a pic, but unable to with this review form. Disappointing overall.

Not clean

This hotel was GROSS! the carpet was filthy and the room smelled like wet dog. The towels were so stained and worn out they look like twenty year old towels. We didn't receive one towel that wasn't yellowed and stained. Same with the washclothes and hand towels. That being said the staff was very friendly and the bathtub in the room was brand new and clean, just don't dry off after you shower.

Very clean room!

The room was very clean and comfortable, but there was a disturbance in the room across the hall from us. Cops were called. No fault of the hotel, though. There was also, I'm thinking a child, running and jumping around on the floor above us.

Room air condition did not react to settings. WiFi practically dead / unusable. Fan in toilet did not work at all. poor breakfast hotel needs refurbishment

Great room! King size bed with full size sofa, microwave and fridge.

My daughter is in a wheelchair so we needed an accessible room. We got 111 i believe, did not sleep for three night bc the bed was against the wall for the exit door. Slammed so loudly it would wake both of us. All day and all night and the stairs right beside sounded like cattle stampede all night. It was a horrible couple of nights. If the staff had not been so nice and there had been anywhere else to stay in Mexico, Missouri, i would have left. That inconvenience should include a HUGE DISCOUNT I’m waiting

The only negative was the pillows. They were awful. Everything else was great.

The pillows were all thicker and firmer than what we preferred, but otherwise the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the hot breakfast served from 6 to 9 AM in the lobby that included tea or coffee, waffles made fresh with a waffle maker, scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, muffins, toast with butter and jelly, bagels with cream cheese, 3 cold cereals to select from, oranges and apples, and even ketchup packets and peanut butter!

Hotel doesnt have enough internet broadband for all customers. No lift. Outdated in general. The city doesn’t offer any better option. :-(

Property was well cared for and the staff was very kind. The down side, the beds were extra firm, so not comfortable at all to say the least. If you have back or neck pain, I would not recommend staying at this location for that reason solely.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. The room was located by a exit door so all you heard was the door slamming all hours. That was a bit annoying.

Close to an event I was attending. I did not like the fact that I left my electric toothbrush, called the next day, left a message and no one called me back. I am disappointed because I know exactly where I left it.

The staff was more than accommodating for anything that was lacking. We really appreciate the lengths they went to make our experience enjoyable.

The reservation system was down when we arrived but the front desk manager was a pro in getting our information and into our room while he worked through processing out payment. AWESOMENESS!

We were staying here cause we were passing through to go to a family funeral. We chose this hotel because it was a little cheaper and we were only going to be there about 6 hours. We got to this hotel at midnight after traveling several hours. We were tired. Upon check in I was asked the ages of our children. I booked on hotels.com and according to them kids are 17 and under. The front desk told me that they consider kids to be 12 and under and there would be extra charges. I was charged extra for each of my kids. The reason is because we were going to be using more water. This need to be listed on the website. We have never had this problem and will never stay here again. Next time I will drive an extra 10 minutes stay in a hotel that will treat you better.

The staff was very helpful, and our room was well stocked—the bed and pillows were very nice, and we slept well. The shower was hot and clean. Thanks.

Check-in staff was SO rude. We waited at the desk for almost 20 minutes and then she literally said “what do you want.” There were also unexpected fees that were supposed to be refunded, and even after cleaning the room before we left, I never got that money back….. totaling our room at a little over $200. Definitely not worth a $200 stay. Room was clean, but the bed was hard and pillows were flat, and the AC didn’t work right. This isn’t mentioned anywhere on the site, but there is only one way in/out, it’s the driveway, load-in zone, only entrance to the parking lot behind the building, barely wide enough for two cars, and they had pallets of mulch taking up half of the loading zone. When we came back from our event there was someone parked there, and we had to wait there for 30-45 minutes, just to get into the parking lot.

Not the Best Western I’m used to! The front desk was very rude, offered little help.

We loved our 2 night stay. Ruby at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful! Beds were super comfy and the water pressure in the shower was amazing!! Very clean hotel!

Best place in Mexico because there is no competition (no other hotels in this class). Price was OK. Breakfast was typical but decent. Quiet. Comfortable. Clean. Front desk staff at checkin must have been having a bad day as she barely talked. Morning staff was much better.

Older facility younger staff limited things to do. Good restaurant selection if you like steak I recommend 581 $$

Easy access off highway

Always clean, staff is friendly, easy access to shopping & highway, pet friendly.

Comfortable and clean. Near dining options and a lovely lake for a walk. Just a few minutes off I-70

The grounds and the building itself were clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Beds are comfortable also. Location was not far from the interstate, and near to shopping nearby. Overall, a good experience and would stay here again in the future.
