The hotel has a nice small living room area and a courtyard where one can have drinks in the evening or breakfast. The staff is extremely helpful. The rooms are somewhat on the smaller side but have good mattress & excellent bedding. The area is next-door to many museums. Altogether a great choice.

Excellent hotel. Hotel located in nice residential area in townhouse which was extensively renovated. Rooms were beautifully decorated. Bathroom was spotless with great shower. Hotel provided free drink coupons which we used one of the evenings in hotel self service bar. Bar was well stocked with great selection of drinks. Reception was super friendly with Sasha spending time explaining the hotel and providing coupons. Area has a nice market nearby with artisanal products and food. We walked to museum quarter which is approximately 10 minutes away. Center of Amsterdam is walkable too or accessible via tram. Great stay overall.

Loved this little hotel. One-night stay in a very small room, but perfectly appointed and more than adequate for my needs. Quiet neighbourhood near Museumplein, complimentary drink, complimentary minibar (soft drinks, snacks), good bathroom with great toiletries and excellent shower. High standards of personal service.

This was a nice, small boutique hotel with an elevator! Excellent staff, great breakfast but just make sure to be at breakfast at the time you signed up for or you'll miss it. 5 minute minute walk to the tram. 8 minute walk to the Van Gogh museum. Grocery store near the museum. Nice and quiet!!

The De Ware Jacob Boutique Hotel was a gem in the museum district. We were a group of 8 and they were able to get us in a little early to one of our rooms so that we could enjoy the city. They have a lovely lounge and patio to enjoy drinks. Maria and staff were helpful in suggesting dining and shopping areas nearby. The building is a typical narrow Amsterdam building. There are 3 steep steps to get into the entry reception area. And steep steps to get upstairs. The elevator was a little slow but it was great for my elderly parents. The neighborhood is safe and family friendly. It is about 7 minute walk to the Concertgebow tram stop which is in front of the Rijksmuseum. There are many restaurants nearby. The De Ware also serves breakfast. We did not add that on, but my relatives did and they said it was very generous and filling.

This was a comfortable, lovely property. This was our last stop at the end of a long trip which I booked to give us an opportunity to relax and decompress on the way home. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious. The neighborhood was lovely - close to museums, parks, restaurants, etc. but still quiet. The lounge and honor bar was a nice benefit.

We had an excellent four night stay--four of us in one room. The room was spacious and newly renovated, top to bottom. It was quiet, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice amenities (coffee, snacks, drinks) provided gratis. The air conditioning worked very well. The neighborhood was ideal--easy walking to the main tourist areas, but a pleasant, quiet respite from them. Highly recommended, we'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely property nestled in a quiet, upscale neighborhood. We loved the lounge area to relax at the end of a long day. Our rooms were cleaned daily and the entire hotel was pristine. Staff was very helpful and kind. It was a few minutes walk to the nearest tram to access the center of Amsterdam.

We had a 3 night stay. The girl who checked us in was rather slow, but our room was available to us prior to check-in. Our room, was on the ground floor so a little bit noisy when other guests were coming and going, we had a double comfort room, was very small, bed was comfortable, bathroom was tiny, and shower did not drain so you had to turn off tap and give water time to drain. The lounge area was lovely to sit in during some downtime. Breakfast was available at the hotel for a reasonable price and well worth it!

This is a very pleasant boutique hotel in the museum quarter. On the upside, this property is within easy walking distance of most, if not all, of the major tourist attractions in Amsterdam. It is a smaller hotel, with a friendly front desk and is located on a quiet side street, but within easy reach of the museums and main roads. On the downside, we had trouble with housekeeping-they forgot to empty our trash the first day, and decided not to restock bath tissue and facial tissue, both of which we ran out of and had to make special requests to the front desk. My only complaint is that the economy room was extremely small. It would be very difficult for 2 people in the room. Even a suitcase was difficult to open- I stored it upright near the door which was not convenient. There was very little space for anything. The bathroom was very nice and it was a good size in comparison to the room. I loved everything else about the hotel. The breakfast was very good, with fresh juices, fresh eggs, many coffee styles, etc. the neighborhood is very quiet and residential unlike nearby hotels that are on busy streets. It is very convenient to walk to the Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, modern art museum, concert gebouw. Definitely recommend the hotel. Staff is excellent also. And it is extremely clean.

Great location 5 minute walk from museum square. Very quiet with the best of Amsterdam very walkable from the hotel. Close to public transit. The hotel was very clean and the beds and room were comfortable. Our room (we had the family room with 2 kings) was spacious and modern. Enjoyed the breakfasts - buffet style with eggs made to order. One free drink per person from their lounge with an honor bar. Would highly recommend and for sure to stay there again when back in Amsterdam.

The De Ware Jacob Hotel is a beautifully renovated early 1900 building that has been tastefully decorated and setup to make you feel at home. It is clean with everything needed. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is just a ten minute walk to the Van Gogh museum and the #12 tram that takes you to Dam Square and central station. We have already recommended it to friends!

The De Ware Jacob Hotel is a beautifully renovated early 1900 building that has been tastefully decorated and setup to make you feel at home. It is clean with everything needed. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is just a ten minute walk to the Van Gogh museum and the #12 tram that takes you to Dam Square and central station. We have already recommended it to friends!

Our stay here felt like we were spending time with family. The staff is kind and friendly, they give you your space, the property is beautiful and the location is perfect. The rooms are quite large and the water pressure is excellent- perfect for sore muscles after walking and shopping all day. 10/10 recommend. We will definitely stay here again on future visits.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet part of town. A few niggles for the price point - the service was a bit bureaucratic and slow with lots of processes that didnt actually save any time (such as “check in” before arrival to the hotel); hot water in breakfast room difficult to operate and unclear. They have the very best staff at the hotel desk, and we stayed in a spacious quiet superior room, with very comfortable chairs and bed, and a great shower in the bathroom. The neighborhood is close enough to walk to the museums and the beautiful streets and canals of Amsterdam. Will certainly stay here again. Front desk staff are 10 stars!

Great location near Rijksmuseum and VanGogh Museum However there is little or no staff to help getting luggage up or down the front steps. Beds were super comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Stairs are very steep and narrow. There is an elevator. Front desk will supply a list of neighborhood restaurants. The one we tried was great.

we had a wonderful stay - the staff were friendly, super helpful and efficient. They provided recommendations (which were fantastic), kept our bags for us until our room was ready and even delivered them to our room for us. The location was perfect for us - short walk to the museums and an easy bus or tram ride for other attractions. We'd definitely stay here again!

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The location was excellent - near the museum district and also just minutes from a tram stop. The room was perfectly clean and the shower was amazing. There is a beautiful lounge area where you can have wine, snacks, coffee, tea. These are available all day. But the best part was the staff. Claudia greeted us on arrival and I felt so welcome. And poor Claudia, I plagued her with questions and she was always helpful and seemed to enjoy helping. Makes such a difference.

This hotel is really thoughtfully laid out and has everything you need-street is very quiet (enough that I could keep my window open at night) and the lounge/breakfast area is very cozy. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, the museums, the Albert Cuyp market-all very easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and I hope to be back.

Great location 5 minute walk from museum square. Very quiet with the best of Amsterdam very walkable from the hotel. Close to public transit. The hotel is very updated and nicely kept. The staff were very kind and helpful. The room was very clean. The area around the hotel was quiet and felt safe. They offer king size beds, which was perfect for a family of four. The location was a bit out of the center of Amsterdam. But this gave you a quiet and peaceful retreat. But if you are looking for more centrally located this wouldn’t be it.

Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is just a ten minute walk to the Van Gogh museum and the #12 tram that takes you to Dam Square and central station. We have already recommended it to friends!

This was a nice, small boutique hotel with an elevator! Excellent staff, great breakfast but just make sure to be at breakfast at the time you signed up for or you'll miss it. 5 minute minute walk to the tram. 8 minute walk to the Van Gogh museum. Grocery store near the museum. Nice and quiet!!

This was a great hotel! Small, comfortable and very nice. In a great location away from all the noise. My only complaint is that breakfast is very overpriced for what is available. $22.50 a person. Maybe like 5 things to choose from. The person running breakfast asked if we wanted eggs but that is the only thing she offered from the kitchen. There was no menu anywhere of options to choose from. We then noticed another table getting omelettes. It would’ve been nice to see a menu of what is available from the kitchen.
