Loved the room, the property, and the super friendly and welcoming staff! We saw parrots, monkeys and these little agouti critters that are adorable around the property, along with tons of flowers and greenery. There are steps everywhere, just FYI in case anyone has trouble getting around.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, lovely location and pool. Plenty of opportunities to enjoy antics of monkeys around the pool in the evenings. Steps could use a little more lighting at night and area can get a little noisy at night. Special shout out to Moses who went out of his way to engage and serve guests!

ECOTICA was clean, with a beautifully maintained pool and breakfast area. We saw more wildlife lounging at the resort than in the national park, including two scarlet macaws that spent the entire morning over the pool, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, and toucans. The food, however, was Americanized. The on-site YOLO restaurant is American food and music, and was quite loud until about 10 pm. While the resort was excellent in terms of service, amenities, etc., I can't recommend visiting Manuel Antonio for more than a day. The park is over-crowded and swarming with men posing as guides with fake badges demanding payment for parking and services. The beach is beautiful and worth a day of exploration. Stay away from the national park.

Rooms was very nice and comforable in a jungle setting. Breakfast (next to the pool) was good. Pool is nice. We were lucky it was very quiet so always beds available. The upstairs restaurant was not as nice as could be, a bit soulless with a grim looking casino inside as well. However, many options outside the hotel. Can recommend.

Ecotica is almost like staying in a hotel that is hidden inside the rain forest. Very friendly staff, all the facilities are readily available including spa, pool, restaurants and even a small casino!

My companion and I stayed August 8-12 - this is a phenomenal spot. It’s a small jewel of a place. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool is beautiful, the breakfast was lovely and the service is so special. Thank you go Robert and Moses for taking great care of us. Such kind people. I loved seeing the monkeys and the macaws! I will definitely return in the future. Thank you for a fabulous couple of days. Cheers!

The bungalows are across from the pool and restaurant that play loud music until 10pm at night. The property was advertised as serene and peaceful which it was not. I had a very bad experience and don’t recommend staying here unless you are ok with hearing loud music and bass thumping in your room at all hours.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! I've never experienced such friendly staff. Truly a joy, all of them! I lost my purse with my ID, money, and credit card and before I reported it, they had it at the front desk because housekeeping had found it and everything was in it. There were howler monkeys right outside my room in the trees, macaws flew overhead, amazing pool area, free breakfast freshly made by Chef, great coffee. The entire menu is so good, we tried almost everything! There was live music by an amazing guitarist/singer every evening.

Multiple stairs on property that were of varying heights and depths. Stairs are not very well lit and are tiled. When it is dark and the stairs are wet, they are deadly. There is a casino on property-no mention of that anywhere. Music from the bar is loud and played constantly. The food is terrible and more than twice the price at any other resort. I stayed at another resort. Ecotica offered a future stay credit but they never delivered it. Quite frankly, I don't want a future credit at this dangerous, noisy, clip joint/rip off establishment. Expedidia didn't make mention of a noisy casino on the property! This is the epitome of a rip off hotel, that using expedia, should make it easy to avoid. Let severely down by the hotel and expedia! Oh yeah, breakfast sucked too!

We had a wonderful stay! It was absolutely beautiful; we loved breakfast by the pool and three beautiful parrots joined almost every morning. The staff were polite and kind, rooms were beautiful and clean.

We travel quite a bit and this is likely the best place we've stayed across 3 continents. We also have never written a review because we're lazy, but this place deserved the shout out. The natural setting is unmatched: rainforest, capuchins, howlers, agoutis, macaws, and so on. The multi-tier layout also offers privacy. The staff was top-notch from the front desk to the on-site bar (YOLO) to the maintenance people. It was also kept very clean and organized. Love this place.

Staff and grounds are really nice. Wild animals observed through property and pool area super relaxing. Hotel lobby and bar area really pretty. Free breakfast was awesome. If we would stay in bungalow then i think my rating would be higher but hotel rooms are so old. Bathroom is straight from 80’s, bathroom door wasn’t locking, bed really uncomfortable with tiny pillows, stained walls, broken baseboards. Very old rooms

We had to move rooms because there was a strong smell of sewer. The fridge didn’t work in both rooms, shower’s water pressure was low. There were constructions going on in the hotel and it was noisy from around 9am. Otherwise the staff was responsive and the pool was nice. The yolo bar which is attached to the hotel was very nice for hanging out at night.

This is a well located and well equipped hotel. However there were various problems with the room. In-room safe was faulty, shower head was faulty and the shower drain was blocked. WiFi signal in room was insufficient for streaming on smart TV. We reported these issues and initially little was done. On third day, I talked directly with maintenance and some issues got resolved. We asked to see the manager but he was too busy. We were given a complimentary meal for our trouble which was appreciated.

The double rooms are not updated. They are clean and spacious but in serious need of a makeover. The wifi is very spotty. The pool area and grounds are very nice and well kept. Staff could be more accommodating.

Property grounds were very maintained which enhanced it's beautification. Monkeys came to visit almost every evening about 5p.m. Free Breakfast was delicious. Great friendly staff. Lots of Great Restaurants were walking distance. The Balcony was great to enjoy morning espresso they provided. Our room was cleaned every day. The only thing that bothered me was that there wasn't a dresser so our clothes were exposed on shelves which I didn't care for..Also no iron in room. Not sure if they would have provided one if I asked. Room was comfortable. and felt safe.The sounds of nature were relaxing. I would recommend staying here.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel grounds were very beautiful. A frog even stayed right outside our bungalow for a while, and we saw capuchin monkeys on our balcony. Downside is that the wifi was very very slow, virtually nonexistent at times. Also beware of bugs.

Thisos a small little boutique hotel that is beautiful. The staff were so helpful, the food was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable. There we only 2 things that were not perfect and really not a big deal. Frist there is not an elevator and there are many steps up to the room with luggage. Secondly in room 17 you could easily here the music from YOLO. There is another gpod sode pf this hotel; MONKEYS!

I booked this property based on rating, photos, and price. Everything was wonderful! Beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast included! The pool area with bar is lovely. We saw many monkeys around the property but they did not interfere. We stayed in the suite rooms building, great room but only issue was some street noise; not a deal breaker! I would certainly recommend Ecotica!

The term "boutique" hotel here is a stretch. For example they also own the "YOLO Social Club and Casino" at the front of the property... Staff were not very responsive on both Expedia and Whatsapp, the latter being the default communication method in Costa Rica. The vast majority of the imagery online is of the bungalows which is a bit misleading in terms of the overall aesthetic, but we stayed in the cheaper Double Queen Suite which is very spacious for a couple. The breakfast also does not look like the images on their own website. The shower water pressure was poor, much like the Wi-Fi. The staff blamed weak signal on the rainy weather, but we connected easily to other Wi-Fi networks everywhere else we went in Manuel Antonio. Lots of parking space and a decent central location, good for using taxis as well. Many Capuchin monkeys and Agoutis roaming the property, which are fun to watch.

The vast majority of the imagery online is of the bungalows which is a bit misleading in terms of the overall aesthetic, but we stayed in the cheaper Double Queen Suite which is very spacious for a couple. The breakfast also does not look like the images on their own website. The shower water pressure was poor, much like the Wi-Fi. The staff blamed weak signal on the rainy weather, but we connected easily to other Wi-Fi networks everywhere else we went in Manuel Antonio. Lots of parking space and a decent central location, good for using taxis as well. Many Capuchin monkeys and Agoutis roaming the property, which are fun to watch.

This is a well located and well equipped hotel. However there were various problems with the room. In-room safe was faulty, shower head was faulty and the shower drain was blocked. WiFi signal in room was insufficient for streaming on smart TV. We reported these issues and initially little was done. On third day, I talked directly with maintenance and some issues got resolved. We asked to see the manager but he was too busy. We were given a complimentary meal for our trouble which was appreciated.

Cons: lots of stairs (which was not made clear on the website. Was ok for us but would be an issue for some ppl), not the most comfortable bed, VERY noisy. Except for the bungalows set further inside the property by the pool, I believe all suites would be noisy since the windows/terraces face the main street. If you are a light sleeper, all the truck traffic noise will keep you up.

Beautiful boutique hotel about a 5 min taxi from Manuel Antonio. Lots of monkeys and macaws to be seen around the lovely pool. Very relaxing spot, fun bar/restaurant and another one by the pool. Fabulous staff and the rooms are stunning and very spacious

We stayed at the Ecotica hotel for our honeymoon. The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The hotel staff customer service was excellent and they went above and beyond to meet our needs. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the YOLO bar & restaurant was very yummy and convenient. We would definitely come back and stay again.

The property has a beautiful garden that brings about a lot of animals. Most of the staff we interacted with was wonderful, but there was one bartender at the pool that was so horrible to us it’s hard to forgive. The pool towel service was nonexistent. They took the two we were given and then there weren’t any ever available again during our 3 night stay. We also think they might have bad plumbing issue? Every time we turn on the shower there was an awful sewer smell that would just linger for a long time. It wasn’t helpful that the bathroom didn’t have an air vent. Typically, these are small complaints I’d keep to myself but the amount we paid to stay here, we were expecting it to be a tad bit better.

Beautiful place with an abundance of wildlife. The whole staff was so helpful especially Hilary who helped us daily with reservations and travel. Moses also made us feel very welcome right from the start. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

This place blew away my expectations. We stayed for a week. The staff is excellent. Shout out to Moises who is the best! Pool area is great with good drinks and food as well as service. Yolo had some of the best food in the area and super convenient. Guest services was super helpful and arranged all of our activities and even let my son borrow a wireless phone charger for a few days since he was having problems. Rooms are clean and maid service was daily and great. Felt super safe. Monkeys rolling in a few times a day was a treat as well. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was great. Stayed in a Signature Bungalow for 5 nights. Great location. Breakfast was good. 5 or 6 options on the menu. Good coffee, juice & water. The staff made the stay great. Especially Robert and Moy. My only complaint was the check in process we arrived from San Jose by car 3.5 hour drive. Arrived at the Hotel at 2pm, check in is 3pm. The young woman working reception told us that the bungalow was still being cleaned.. which was not true, I walked over and looked. No early check in. Unbelievable! The hotel was not booked plenty of vacancy. Slow rainy season. Reception made us wait until after 3 to check in. Never offered to take are bags and store them while we explored town. My opinion is reception needs better customer service skills/people skills. Reception is the first people you typically meet at a hotel. Further, there are sooo many places to stay in Manual Antonio.

This is an incredibly beautiful hotel with an amazing staff. Moses is awesome and greets you with a smile every time he sees you. The bar is convenient, although the drinks are very expensive outside of happy hour. There is wildlife all around the hotel, from three different species of monkeys to scarlet macaws, to iguanas and frogs. It's in a great location within walking distance from anything you might need. Highly recommend.

My 12 year old twins & I stayed for 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer!! I actually booked other hotels and as soon as I found this resort, I was sold. This property is amazing! It’s spread out on a hill in the jungle, right in the heart of Manuel Antonio. We saw monkeys jumping around in the tree canopy every evening.The pool area is more beautiful than the pictures show. The restaurant and sports bar in the middle of the property is great food, drinks, live music, games and very family friendly! The delicious breakfast was included and not to be missed. Rooms are really comfortable and spacious.

Great experience overall. Best part is a lot of monkeys and birds are visible from their facility which has a lot of wooded area around it. Spotted capachin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, red macaws, bananaquit, Agoutis and iguana. The hotel is 5 mins from National park and beautiful beaches. A lot of restaurant choices around and a bus shuttle runs every 15 mins to National park.

Property grounds were very maintained which enhanced it's beautification. Monkeys came to visit almost every evening about 5p.m. Free Breakfast was delicious. Great friendly staff. Lots of Great Restaurants were walking distance. The Balcony was great to enjoy morning espresso they provided. Our room was cleaned every day. The only thing that bothered me was that there wasn't a dresser so our clothes were exposed on shelves which I didn't care for..Also no iron in room. Not sure if they would have provided one if I asked. Room was comfortable. and felt safe.The sounds of nature were relaxing. I would recommend staying here.

We felt like we were immersed in the jungle. This place is family-friendly and safe. There’s not many sidewalks to walk to everywhere, but it was easy to walk to a few nice restaurants. There are monkeys, macaws, tucanes and other wildlife all over the place.

The food, however, was Americanized. The on-site YOLO restaurant is American food and music, and was quite loud until about 10 pm. While the resort was excellent in terms of service, amenities, etc., I can't recommend visiting Manuel Antonio for more than a day. The park is over-crowded and swarming with men posing as guides with fake badges demanding payment for parking and services. The beach is beautiful and worth a day of exploration. Stay away from the national park.

My companion and I stayed August 8-12 - this is a phenomenal spot. It’s a small jewel of a place. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool is beautiful, the breakfast was lovely and the service is so special. Thank you go Robert and Moses for taking great care of us. Such kind people. The hotel was very nice and the pool area was beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting by the pool for breakfast and then going for a swim. They also made some really good cocktails. All the staff were so friendly and very polite. The food and service at the YOLO restaurant was top notch. They had either live music or a DJ which we loved. Joshua at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. He helped us make all our plans and made sure we always had what we needed. Only complaint I would have is the thin walls in the main building. We could hear everything in the next room. That being said, we will be back. Thanks for the great stay!!

While the breakfast is made-to-order, the pre-set savory options do not include fruit and service was very slow. The front desk personnel were responsive on WhatsApp and were able to swap out our bottle of sparkling wine welcome amenity for smoothies at their restaurant (appreciated as we were not drinking on this trip). The property is clean, beautiful, and in excellent condition. It is also within walking distance to grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. The laundry service is on a per-item basis, not per kilogram.

The bungalow was lovely and the grounds of the hotel were beautiful. We loved seeing the wildlife around the hotel and it was great that the music stopped at 10pm so the grounds were quiet. The only downside was the very high cost of drinks and food (other than the included breakfast which was delicious).
The bungalow was lovely and the grounds of the hotel were beautiful. We loved seeing the wildlife around the hotel and it was great that the music stopped at 10pm so the grounds were quiet. The only downside was the very high cost of drinks and food (other than the included breakfast which was delicious).

This was our first time in Costa Rica and Ecotica delivered to our expectations. The social bar connected to the hotel (YOLO social) had amazing food and drinks. The property of ecotica is beautiful and makes you feel like you are walking through the rain forest. The rooms were clean and had a fresh modern look. Every staff member we encountered was so kind and helpful. I would stay here again when I visit Costa Rica and recommend any of my friends to stay here if they come to MA

Our stay here was amazing. Moses was a joy & ensured our trip was fantastic. The grounds are beautiful. We saw monkeys, parrots & all kinds of wildlife on the property. The daily breakfast, which is included was very yummy. This place is 10 out 10 💗

This is an amazing property!! Everything is fantastic. It’s full of stairs so take your knees into consideration. It’s on the main road but in the Jungle… very beautiful. When it rains it pours and thats also something to experience! The pool is beautiful and the local dining options are endless.a

This hotel was perfect! The property is beautiful, the 2 restaurants were very good. Breakfast was included and you have so many full choicees. The food was so good at the other restaurant that we ate there 3 times! We stayed in the bungalow and it was super nice. The bed and pillowes and bedding were clean and cozy and comfy. We slept as we do at home. Outside of the momekeys everywhere, the staff were the best part. They were so hlepful when it came to booking excursions and directions to stores an even secret beaches. We would definitely stay here again and again. Along with the espresso cup machine there is also a tea kettle, full ,fridge, microwave and a 2 burner stove. In the roomIn the room.
