We always stay at the Pontiac during off season, so we've been there at least 50 times, and we've never had a problem or complaint. It's always very clean with scalding hot water. Each room has a wet bar, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and I like the small touch of a roll of paper towel by the sink. The alley can be tight on space if in-season, if you have a bike. Pop and ice machine. Accessible by stairs only, no elevator, and all rooms are upstairs (it's above a store).

We had a great stay at the Pontiac Lodge. We arrived on the island early and they allowed us to drop off our luggage. When our room was ready, they sent a text to let us know. The room was clean and spacious. Our view overlooked the main street below so it was great for people-watching. My only criticism would be it could use a dedicated/secure space for bicycle storage.

The location and the staff makes this property five stars. There were some kind of steep stairs getting to the room making it little difficult for some in our group, and I’d suggest a topper for the mattress, as it was little hard for my liking but overall it was a very nice stay.

This hotel requires a walk up a flight of stairs, I don’t believe they have an elevator. It’s right next to the Kingston kitchen at the village inn which has great food. It’s also close to other restaurants and shops, right downtown. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. It was very comfortable. I have zero complaints about the hotel. They had a dockporter bring our bags to and from the ferry and up to our room. We had a great stay.

Charming decor. Outstanding location. One building away from Main Street; very walkable to the Grand Hotel. I only gave it a 4 b/c there was no elevator (and no valet to tip to haul your suitcase up the stairs) and no noise insulation. The next building was only a few feet outside our window, and there was a half inch opening under our room door allowing in all noise from the hallway as if the people were right in your room. This opening also let in light, keeping the room from getting fully dark at night. But overall it was good and I would stay there again. Suggestion: When you get off the ferry, tip the ferry dockworkers and they will carry your suitcases up the stairs to your room. But you still have to carry it down yourself.

This is our third time on the island. We’ve stayed at some nice big Rizzi expensive places, but this place for the dollar and the location was absolutely perfect. You don’t have a nice foyer to lounge in or rocking chairs out front, but nobody’s gonna know if you use somebody down the street. Lol! We would definitely stay here again, especially if we made last-minute reservations as we did this time.

The room was spacious and the cool/ heat was nice to be able to control for each space. It’s nicely decorated with a nautical theme. It has an outside covered stairs, that looked well used. No elevator!

The room was small but just enough room for us all to sleep. However the sheets on one of our beds was dirty with hairs all over inside it and didn’t fine out until bedtime and couldn’t get in touch with anyone to get new sheets. There were dust bunnies under the trundle bed. One lady at the front desk was very rude and snarky to us. The other one was really kind and helpful. No windows besides a skylight in the room. Felt we should have had better service for the amount of money it cost to stay there.

Internet was good, TV was glitchy, air conditioner had a loud noise when in operation. The room was very clean, accommodating and comfortable. It was easy access to everything downtown. Our room was facing street side, so there was outside noise at night and could hear the horses all during the night. We enjoyed our stay on the island regardless.

Good stay for the price. The check-in lady was meh. The cleaning staff was very pleasant. Very convenient location. Check-in was confusing where it was located. Wish they had some hooks to hang towels. There is plenty of room behind toilet, wall next to vanity and back of door for towel hooks. Big missed convenience that would cost only a few dollars. Carpet seemed sticky/dirty. My socks got black real quick. Should pull up and put in a laminate. Beds were very bouncy and shook you every time your partner moves. So other than the beds and the floor, the place was great.

The room was furnished quite nicely, but the room was very small and lacking outlets. Also, this appears to be an amateur remodeling job, as the bathroom door hits the sink when trying to close it. Aldo, there were noisy kids

Good location right across from Shepler’s Ferry Dock. Clean and comfortable. Large room. Only drawback, it was right above the busy street so with the windows open we heard people walking by until @ 2 am, and horse hoofs clomping by (kind of charming, but…). The second night with the windows closed, it didn’t bother us. I would stay here again.

Hotel room was outstanding. The front desk was incredible, she let us drop our bags and enjoy the day while they were getting the room ready. The location is directly across from the ferry landing so easy to get there and to go home. We had a corner room overlooking the main street and had a view of Lake Huron also. All the restaurants are just fown the street an easy walk. Taxi was available to go up to the Fort or the Grand. Highly recommend the Pontiac Lodge.

Great location. Right at the base of downtown. 2 minutes from ferry. 15 min. to walk to Grand hotel. Staff very kind & helpful Our rm had a skylight (no windows) which I thought might be a bit creepy but it was nice. My only negative is all the bath towels were way past there intended use. Rough, grey, tattered and ready for the rag bag They shoud be SOFT and white

I had a room with a skylight only. I had not expect that for $250+ a night. I do not believe this meets the standard. Also, no maid service. Location is great. Staff was OK, not overly friendly. All in all a mediocre experience. would not recommend

Took my mother for her 80th birthday to the island.We reserved a two beds in a room and ended up with the room having a furniture change without our knowlege. A loveseat is not a bed. Mom had difficulty getting out of bed all night and moving around room due to this change. Told upon arrival that this was not going to be acceptable and all front desk lady said waa she would change reservation picture on the site. Told her again at check out and on the message and they did nothing but say sorry. Very disappointed. If you reserve two beds in a room you should get two beds. Had i known early on prior to arrival i would have gone elsewhere.

Great management! We went to Pontiac Lodge after the season ended and most businesses were closed down. The room was as expected - clean and nice. We originally booked for 2 nights but canceled 2nd night due to everything being closed (I should have done my research first). The owner/manager was gracious and allowed us to cancel and she was very pleasant. She made the hotel choice worth the experience. Much appreciated. I would stay here again.

The location is perfect since it is directly across the street from Sheplers dock, it’s in the center of town and right on Main st. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Will probably stay again.

Lovely modern and spacious room with comfortable beds and lots of natural light. We stayed during the off season and Pontiac Lodge was next door to the only restaurant that was open on the island.
