The Helaina is a very high standard of bed and breakfast property. We stayed in a Premium Double room on the top floor. The room was very spacious with an excellent bathroom/shower. This room is reached by 6 flights of stairs of varying lengths (it is on the 3rd floor), so not for the infirm or those with heavy luggage. The breakfast needs to be booked, but is of a very good standard. There is no parking on the premises, but the B&B can supply a 2 day parking pass for £5. You can purchase as many as you need. The Helaina is very well placed for a short walk to the Castle and down the path to the North beach and the promenade which will take you to the main town and South beach in 15 to 20 minutes walking (or you can go via the church next to the castle).

Beautiful room with a lovely view over the sea. Spacious room,modern bathroom. Very nice and welcoming staff. Easy parking on the street outside the hotel for an extra fee. A nice restaurant across the road, a 10 min walk to other restaurants and pubs through a bit wornout and quiet streets (i wouldn't feel completely safe walking there alone at night). Most shops and restaurants are in the opposite end of the town, best to reach by car or taxi (not a problem during daytime to walk if you like a good walk). Will definently recommend this hotel if you're bringing a car, and you don't want to be surrounded by restaurants, cafes and nightclubs.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile by the receptionist who supported us with sorting a parking permit, helped us with our luggage and ensured we were happy. The room was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed and that was specified on our booking. It also comes with the most beautiful view of the scarborough coastline and the castle at the top of the hill. Its only a two minute walk to the actual beach which is just down a path in front of the hotel. The beach is beautiful and very tidy (barely any littler). We didn't get up on time for breakfast, however the menu looked great and from what i could see caters for all (check online). We will definitely be going again as it was also great value for money.

Great location for cricket, Open Air Theatre and Cliff top walks. Friendly welcome. Small but well decorated room. Comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast choice. Great artwork on walls. Handy for shops and restaurants (within 10 minute walk). Spotlessly clean.

We did have the smallest room in The hotel but were aware of this on booking, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with all you would require for a short weekend stay and excellent value for money at a peak time.

Beautiful Guest house. Great location. Exceptionally clean with modern ensuite rooms. Excellent Breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff running the Helaina guest house. Loved it and will definitely be returning.

We had a perfect one night stay at The Helaina, it went so fast though and we were sorry to leave the following morning. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with nice modern decoration. Very nice comfortable bed. The sea view was amazing. Breakfast was delicious, everything cooked to perfection. We would love to stay here again one day soon. Thank you Lucky for making us feel so welcome, and for the great service 👍😊

View out to sea and the curve of the bay and the castle all fabulous. The hotel was scrupulously clean. Only niggle the room No 7 was small it was big enough but only just.

This is a nice place for sure. Well appointed and great views. You can have breakfast added on which was just okay. Our big dislike is the size of the room...very small. We were in #3. The sea view was great. When booking I thought king bed meant a bigger room, given the cost. The bed barely fit in the room. The room was frustratingly small. There are a couple of bigger rooms, but at a higher price point. Staff were great. I would not book there again.

Booked one night in a small room (room 10). Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Everything you could want in the room. Space was a bit tight but adequate for one night for a couple. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend.

This is a fantastic hotel which me and my wife would thoroughly recommend. Owner Jill could not have been more helpful, with a room upgrade. Cooked Breakfast was hot, and the fruit selection first class. You would find some of the other hotels more expensive and offer you a lot less. This hotel was first class all the way.

Room and breakfast Fab as always, Jill and the team friendly and businesslike, always a smile! Only a one night stay, we had to return home urgently( health issue) had booked for 3 so we're disappointed that we had to leave early. It was our fourth visit, and we shall return again.

A hotter more powerful shower would have been better (maybe user incompetence) but i'll still rate as a 5* as well the cleanliness, for me the plus was the b&b operate a hassle free leave you alone to enjoy your stay attitude, but the staff were quickly there when you needed them to be. Neil.

The Helaina is a very high standard of bed and breakfast property. We stayed in a Premium Double room on the top floor. The room was very spacious with an excellent bathroom/shower. This room is reached by 6 flights of stairs of varying lengths (it is on the 3rd floor), so not for the infirm or those with heavy luggage. The breakfast needs to be booked, but is of a very good standard. There is no parking on the premises, but the B&B can supply a 2 day parking pass for £5. You can purchase as many as you need. The Helaina is very well placed for a short walk to the Castle and down the path to the North beach and the promenade which will take you to the main town and South beach in 15 to 20 minutes walking (or you can go via the church next to the castle).

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Haleina. Great location with wonderful views over the North Bay. Choice of breakfast was excellent, although a wider choice of pastries would enhance the continental breakfast.

Beautiful room with a lovely view over the sea. Spacious room,modern bathroom. Very nice and welcoming staff. Easy parking on the street outside the hotel for an extra fee. A nice restaurant across the road, a 10 min walk to other restaurants and pubs through a bit wornout and quiet streets (i wouldn't feel completely safe walking there alone at night). Most shops and restaurants are in the opposite end of the town, best to reach by car or taxi (not a problem during daytime to walk if you like a good walk). Will definently recommend this hotel if you're bringing a car, and you don't want to be surrounded by restaurants, cafes and nightclubs.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile by the receptionist who supported us with sorting a parking permit, helped us with our luggage and ensured we were happy. The room was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed and that was specified on our booking. It also comes with the most beautiful view of the scarborough coastline and the castle at the top of the hill. Its only a two minute walk to the actual beach which is just down a path in front of the hotel. The beach is beautiful and very tidy (barely any littler). We didn't get up on time for breakfast, however the menu looked great and from what i could see caters for all (check online). We will definitely be going again as it was also great value for money.

We had a perfect one night stay at The Helaina, it went so fast though and we were sorry to leave the following morning. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with nice modern decoration. Very nice comfortable bed. The sea view was amazing. Breakfast was delicious, everything cooked to perfection. We would love to stay here again one day soon. Thank you Lucky for making us feel so welcome, and for the great service 👍😊

This is a fantastic hotel which me and my wife would thoroughly recommend. Owner Jill could not have been more helpful, with a room upgrade. Cooked Breakfast was hot, and the fruit selection first class. You would find some of the other hotels more expensive and offer you a lot less. This hotel was first class all the way.

Room and breakfast Fab as always, Jill and the team friendly and businesslike, always a smile! Only a one night stay, we had to return home urgently( health issue) had booked for 3 so we're disappointed that we had to leave early. It was our fourth visit, and we shall return again.

We were greeted by the staff member Henry, he had prepared our key and parking permit. He gave us relevant advice and guidance. He showed us to the room that was clean and tidy. Our room was small. En suite was lovely and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The room was quiet. Lovely uninterrupted views of the Noth Bay. Mother Nature added to our enjoyment with sunshine everyday.
