We booked a family room for and we got an appertment with two room, a kitchen a sitting area. The place was modern and well presented. It felt very comfortable. There is pub meals served downstairs.

This is a very convenient and easy stay. The room had everything we needed, great powerful shower and all amenities. We were next to the road which was quite loud, and we were the first room at the top of the stairs leading to all rooms, so we could hear people coming and going. It took staff a while to check us in, but we weren’t in a rush so this was okay, and the staff explained they were so busy and only had 2 staff available, and they were very apologetic. Parking round the back was safe and convenient. Overall, staying here for one night was great for us.

Spacious room 9 + 10. Good amenities. Food is good at a reasonable price. Parking is limited. The mattress was a bit soft. Very enjoyable stay, ideal for a family.

We went for are 25th weddings and it was not all we wanted . The day before we went i got a call to say they had a fire in the kitchen. So no food would be served so for breakfast we had to go next door . That was ok . But on the Tuesday only a fish shop was open for something to eat . So my surprise for my wife was not so nice . .then we went into the bar on Wednesday buckets all over the floors they had a water leak so not good

The hotel is perfect. Attached to a pub with a little shop opposite, the staff were so friendly and the room was lovely. Bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean. Also a very short car journey into Scarborough. We will definitely return!

A fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great night’s sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Nice sized room and mostly very clean. I was a little disappointed with the way the food was prepared. The lady making my desert was fishing out the biscuit pieces with her hands and pushing them into my icecream with her fingers. Also the shower heads had not been cleaned in a long time and i felt i was washing in dirty water. Both points where mention to the staff and they said they would sort my issues.

We only stayed the one night the hotel was convenient for visiting Scarborough. When we arrived at the hotel we were given keys for a room which we found on entering the room had not been cleaned from the previous guests. We reported this and were given an alternative room which was nice however this shouldn’t have happened in the first instance and didn’t provide a good impression.

A tidy typical country pub/hotel. The extension was very modern with quality fittings and decently sized rooms.As appears to be the norm nowadays there was room for improvement in the cleaning of the shower unit but the rest of the hotel looked clean.Typical cooked breakfast but the continental offering may have confused our european visitors.

They let themselves down with no house keeping in our room. Stayed for two nights & had to ask for towel changes, coffee, milk, tea. No room cleaning done at all. I’m sure this was an oversight but spoiled our stay. Having said that hotel/rooms & food first class👍

Our room was spotless and I can't find a fault with the hotel. The bed was very comfy and the staff were amazing and very friendly. Will definitely be going back.

The room looked ' tired ' maybe it hadn't been used for a while. The shower had mould on the door fixings, The sink was attractive but impractical and most of the water ended up on the floor. Rust is forming on attachment holding toilet rolls. The evening meal was probably one of the worst I have had in any hotel. I had gammon steak and it looked as if it had been boiled rather than seared in a pan .

The modernized room was very comfortable, spacious & well appointed . One small thing … & I lieteralky mean small was the absurdly tiny washbasin in the bathroom . It was impossible to fill the kettle from the tap & wax so small impossible to wash my face or brush my teeth without banging my forehead on the mirror above the sink . The shower was superb & there is sufficient room in this very large bathroom for a proper washbasin . They’ve made a big mistake fitting what can only be described as a basin no bigger than a large casserole pot !!!

Stayed for one night, room was quite stuffy and warm as there was no aircon so had to open the window. Bathroom was small but over all it was clean. Service from staff was poor, left some jewellery by mistake and even after several phone calls they still haven’t called me so I can collect it. Said they found it but didn’t know where the cleaner had left it. Not very good service.

I feel that the images of the rooms did not reflect my room. It was a double with ensuite but ver small. Every other option looks bigger, I had a sound of what sounded like an extractor running and was not restful without the TV to block it out. Check in was fast but I wouldn't say it was welcoming. All in all, I wont be returning, which is a shame as I am working in the area for a while and could have become a regular.

Stayed for my brothers wedding. Clean comfortable room, friendly staff. Good food reasonably priced. Only downgraded as my wife fell down a step that wasn’t clearly marked, no staff came to check she was ok. Maybe because she picked herself up and said she was ok.

Receptionist when booking in no people skills … The single beds really hard and way too small… the width was tiny … no air conditioning…. There was no where for feminine hygiene waste disposal … no shelf in the wet room for products .. especially shampoo and fair conditioners… the television was a waste of time as it kept freezing…. In fact the receptionist who checked us in was bordering on being exceptionally rude

Fantastic stay, check in was smooth and very cheerful member of staff, room was of a very high standard, with large comfy bed and amazing shower. Breakfast was superb with proper fresh ingredients. Every member of staff we interacted with was professional and very helpful. Shame it was only one night, will definitely return.

We only stayed the one night the hotel was convenient for visiting Scarborough. When we arrived at the hotel we were given keys for a room which we found on entering the room had not been cleaned from the previous guests. We reported this and were given an alternative room which was nice however this shouldn’t have happened in the first instance and didn’t provide a good impression.

We only stayed for one night as we were attending a funeral but would definitely stay longer when we visit Scarborough again.

We stayed in the apartment (room 9 and 10). Great facilities although didn’t have the heed to use much of them. Would definitely stay again. Great place to stay if visiting Scarborough - leave the car there and get the bus into Scarborough.

The hotel is perfect. Attached to a pub with a little shop opposite, the staff were so friendly and the room was lovely. Bed was so comfortable and everything was very clean. Also a very short car journey into Scarborough. We will definitely return!

A fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy to find with ample car parking at the rear. Warm welcome at reception and friendly efficient service. Room was immaculate and very well maintained. Great night’s sleep, quiet location and comfortable bed. Breakfast was fab, staff friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and would happily stay there again. Thank you to all the staff at the Mayfield for a very comfortable stay.

Nice sized room and mostly very clean. I was a little disappointed with the way the food was prepared. The lady making my desert was fishing out the biscuit pieces with her hands and pushing them into my icecream with her fingers. Also the shower heads had not been cleaned in a long time and i felt i was washing in dirty water. Both points where mention to the staff and they said they would sort my issues.

Rooms very comfortable however shower pressure not very good. Also breakfast start time of 8 is no good for business people. Fortunately this time was able to leave a bit later

Amazing find. The room and bathroom were very spacious with a separate bath and shower. Incredibly comfortable beds and overall a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was very good at £10 per person and the only downside overall if I could find one was the weather and.... no ironing board, but apart from that, it was just superb.

Stayed for my brothers wedding. Clean comfortable room, friendly staff. Good food reasonably priced. Only downgraded as my wife fell down a step that wasn’t clearly marked, no staff came to check she was ok. Maybe because she picked herself up and said she was ok.

The room looked ' tired ' maybe it hadn't been used for a while. The shower had mould on the door fixings, The sink was attractive but impractical and most of the water ended up on the floor. Rust is forming on attachment holding toilet rolls. The evening meal was probably one of the worst I have had in any hotel. I had gammon steak and it looked as if it had been boiled rather than seared in a pan .

Fantastic stay, check in was smooth and very cheerful member of staff, room was of a very high standard, with large comfy bed and amazing shower. Breakfast was superb with proper fresh ingredients. Every member of staff we interacted with was professional and very helpful. Shame it was only one night, will definitely return.

Lovely clean room, had everything I needed. Comfy bed . Only negative comment I have is the room was very hot and the Dyson fan didn't work properly. Everything else was perfect and I would definitely stay again

Lovely, lovely place. Comfortable bed and great shower in our beautifully decorated room. Two very slight downsides... The creaking of the laminate floor in the room and the full english breakfast could've used another egg, another slice of toast and another hash brown. Those are the most minor of gripes, though, and no way would either stop us returning. Excellent pub food served downstairs from a very extensive menu. Only a 15 minute bus ride into Scarborough centre - bus stop directly outside - where I'd expect to pay more than double for this standard of accommodation.

Room cleaned and serviced every day. Staff were always friendly and helpful with any request. Good full English breakfast but only a limited continental option available. Good selection of beers at the bar. There is also locally made ice cream available all day long. Restaurant meals from midday to 9pm. A carvery roast on Sunday is not to be missed. We were there for a week long touring holiday and would be happy to stay there again. Dave & Pam Bradley

Stayed 1 night to go to the open air in Scarborough. Although a few miles away there’s a bus stop across the road that goes into Scarborough, and also a bus at the open air that takes you back, so ideal.
