Floyd diner was an excellent place for breakfast or brunch. The game room kept the kids occupied with the board games, table tennis, foos ball and free popcorn. Good and safe place to hangout. Staffs was excellent. Bed was great. Room was clean. We will come back to this hotel.

Loved this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the property is very clean. The pool is great and there is a nice patio with bbq. The parkimg lit is brightly lit for safety and there is also underground parking. The restaurant attached is diner style food open from 8-3

Limited parking on Wednesday evenings. Small parking spaces in front of hotel. Not a lot of food options in evenings. Pool wasn’t open for the season yet. Great lounge with free popcorn and huge screen for the hockey games.

spacious, clean gym area, receiving area in orderly, clean and spacious, entertainment/area is spacious, clean lounge area. Staff provides excellent service, prompt to answer needs and helpful. Ease in check in and check out. Room is clean, sheets and towels are clean and did not have smell as I am particular especially with pillows. Bath toiletries for shower smells good and good quality was provided. Good layout of bath/toilet separated from sink area. Great location. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay and would go back there again. Easy to recommend to others for short or long stay.

Great location just 20min by bus away from downtown and most of the city attractions. Good boutique decor. Great amenities complete with foosball and ping pong tables and self-serve popcorn. Our family of 2 adults, 1 kid & 2 dogs had a superb stay while exploring the city and attending a work meeting here in Victoria.

The hotel is nice. The staff weren't super accomodating in terms of we wanted to shift our stay by 1 day. I get that, I wish they were a bit more flexible but the policy is policy so whatever. My bad. But the bathroom shower was not clean. There were literal footprints in it and there were crumbs on the carpet. Didnt give the greatest confidence it was cleaned. Had to wash the shower so I could bathe my kids. Anyways, mixed experience.

I don't like putting really bad reviews but the hallways smelled strongly like body odour. The room smelled like body odour and a whiff of mould unfortunately. The room looked clean enough. Our second story window faced the parking lot, and unfortunately we could hear drunk people talking out loud outside.

Not a great option for a hotel in terms of cleanliness, specifically beddings - they clearly are not changed between stays. Took pictures and front desk said they’ll bring it to the attention of the cleaning staff for the future.

The room and service were good—overall decent for a 3-star hotel. However, I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness. The room, particularly the bathroom, was quite dirty. There was visible mold on a piece of wall art, which was concerning. While the common areas had a cool and unique vibe, they also lacked proper cleaning and didn’t feel sanitary. The most unpleasant part was the strong smell of marijuana throughout my room and the hallway. I was traveling with my 3.5-year-old child, and the conditions made me uncomfortable enough that I didn’t even want him to use the shower. I like the property, the staff is nice, it's quit and family friendly but I think they should work a little more on the cleanliness, we found hair in our bed and around the washroom door had some mold. Also, i dropped some water on their carpet which is black and dark already, but when i used some paper towel to clean it up, the paper was completly black just like the carpet. Needs a deep carpet clean. Other than that.. the location is good, and the Floyd Diner downstairs is a must go to have breakfast or lunch.

I had an amazing stay at The Vic, an Ascend Hotel Collection in Victoria! From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and comfortable. Generally, it was ok - but at $400 plus per night it was way over priced. This should have been around $250 a night at most. The room was tight - could not even pull out the chair at the desk and the air conditioner was so loud only ran it when we were not in the room. The bathroom was good - the shower was nice and the sink was located outside the bathroom so could use the bathroom privately. The housekeeping was ok - Sometimes we would not get any face clothes. Also parts of the area around the TV were stained. The room looked old and tired. The area outside the balcony was disgusting. Again at $250 a night I would not have complained but at $400 plus a night it was not justified. Also the location is not great - way out of the downtown area and not close to anything. On the weekend parking is at a premium in the evening.

Although the property was older from the exterior, the interior rooms are tastefully remodeled and decorated. You can tell they took a lot of care into renovating the rooms for ultimate comfort, space and convenience. I liked that the double queen room is separate from the living room giving us extra space after the kids go to bed earlier. The kitchen had good appliances and was very tidy and clean

I had a # of flights cancelled and had to quickly “day of stay” book a room at the Vic, Ascend Hotel through Expedia. The reservation was non-cancellable. Then my flight to Victoria was cancelled! I called the hotel and asked if I could cancel the room with no penalty or get a hotel credit. The reservation desk was very nice. Initially, they said “no”. I asked them to consult with the manager. The reservation desk called me back saying the manager’s decision was “no”. The hotel is in the right to charge me, but no flexibility. “It’s the policy”. Frustrating day. Would have been good to get a break. I’ll remember the treatment next time I book in Victoria.

spacious, clean gym area, receiving area in orderly, clean and spacious, entertainment/area is spacious, clean lounge area. Staff provides excellent service, prompt to answer needs and helpful. Ease in check in and check out. Room is clean, sheets and towels are clean and did not have smell as I am particular especially with pillows. Bath toiletries for shower smells good and good quality was provided. Good layout of bath/toilet separated from sink area. Great location. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay and would go back there again. Easy to recommend to others for short or long stay.

Was not as pictured on line but was ok. Staff was very nice & helpful. Restaurant was good although a bit expensive. Construction right next to hotel - noisy & dirty. Not in a location I would feel safe in walking.

The Vic is by far my favourite place to stay when I’m in Victoria. The location is perfect being not to far from downtown and has a beautiful place to walk on the water close by. The staff is always so welcoming and always go out of their way to make my stay the best it can be! Thanks and I’ll be back very soon

Very relaxing,, comfortable beds, clean room, amazing food choices close to the hotel. The only downside is it isn’t very close to downtown Victoria but there’s a short bus ride to get you there.

For the price, it was perfect for our 2 day trip. Nice to have a common room and outdoor pool. Everything was clean. We had booked another hotel first but then changed to the Vic because it was $125 less per night and I'm sure we had just as good of an experience. Only minor issue is that the individual room air conditioners are a bit loud. Otherwise perfect and close to town.

Great location just 20min by bus away from downtown and most of the city attractions. Good boutique decor. Great amenities complete with foosball and ping pong tables and self-serve popcorn. Our family of 2 adults, 1 kid & 2 dogs had a superb stay while exploring the city and attending a work meeting here in Victoria.

We stayed for 3 nights and were extremely happy with the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was nice and big and the shower was great. Having Floyds right there and 10% off for guests is a bonus! Would stay at The Vic again for sure.

Had a good stay thanks to the helpful staff. The hotel has floyd's diner which served a good breakfast of eggs benedict for us on our last morning. We would be happy sat here again.

We were impressed with our stay at The Vic. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room has been nicely redecorated, bathroom in particular has a lovely rainfall shower and great light up vanity area. We would’ve taken advantage of more amenities had our stay been longer but we were only there for one night. It’s also lovely having Floyd’s for breakfast on site. Definitely would stay again.

Staff and service were exceptionally good. We enjoyed the amenities and even the popcorn in the evening!🍿 also enjoyed the dinning on site and how close to downtown this hotel is located. 😊

All and all the Vic was a good place to lay our heads. Location is a bit off from where we wanted to be, but the parking was free, so that was nice. The bar patrons take up most of the parking so when returning from an evening out, there was no parking which was inconvenient for us and the staff trying to make it work. The bar patrons took priority which was annoying. The pillows were not great, if you have the option to bring your own, I would. The beds however were comfortable. The fan in the room was super loud, it was a window style air conditioner unit. If you kept it on it was loud and cold, and if you put it on Auto it was on and off constantly, which made for a restless sleep, but we managed. The diner downstairs was lovely, breat staff and decent food. The games room was fun, my teenagers had fun, which I was surprised at, I didn't think they'd bother. At times the hallways had an old musty smell, our room was fine (239), but I suspect there may be some that are not. We considered other hotels, however the price for his long weekend was way out of budget. We paid $430 / night compared to upwards of $750 in the core. So I'm happy. However on a regular weekend, during the off-season, I wouldn't pay more than $200 (+/-) for this hotel.
