There are so many resort hotels in Helen i believe they have a maid service problem. I liked the hotel, good value for the money. Management was very helpful when there was a problem. Hotel room and exterior looked very good, just landscaping andgrounds could use some TLC. Pool was not open, in terrible shape but would be a great asset to the hotel.

No working ice machine on property. Was told it works sometimes by manager. No ashtrays for smoking room. Room was dusty and had gnats flying around. Was told there was nothing they could do. Ac worked great is about the only positive part of our stay.

The guys running the front desk were great, very apologetic with the conditions at the property. With the said, pool had been closed for 2 years due to White County regulations, according to the staff. Bathroom door wouldn't close, one of my most dissatisfied stays in a motel and ive been in close to 100 in my life.

Hmmmmm. A towel and a sock in one of the drawers. Interior front door lock wouldn't lock (Rm 214). Pot smokers underneath or next door. Pool hasn't been opened this year at all (according to staff). Short distance to the festhalle and downtown shops which are easily walkable. You're going to get what you paid for here. Room is cheap and really need to be updated

Heater was working great. Room was clean and in good condition. Bathroom was clean and lots of towels. Check in and out were easy and quick and staff was friendly. Close to attractions and Festhalle, great spot. Lots of parking space. Awesome TV and a ton of services and channels. Would recommend and will stay again!

The area was nice. It said they had a pool which they did but there was a cover over it so it couldnt be used. Spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else. Not a good experience

I was upset that it says i could pay at check in, but he ran my card before i got there. I was paying with cash. Still hasnt been refunded to my card. The pool was not open & was green with filth. The so called continential breakfast is just waffles, apples & oranges. Had trouble with the A/C unit as well.

It says there is a pool….the pool is green with frogs in it! The first room they put us in smelled like dog pee…the second room didn’t smell but the floor was very soft and felt like you would fall through in certain areas. The shower was disgusting the shower head had mildew in it and was barely hanging on. Do not stay here!

We arrived on a Thursday at 3 am and the check in was easy, we went to room and it was mostly clean but had a horrible musky or moldy smell. I had to go get fabrize and run the ac cold and constantly ti keep the smell away. The shower had other people's hair in it. Towels were very thin. The next day they came in to clean but did not make the bed or clean shower, only replaced towels and took trash out. On sat they never came in the room to clean, no trash taken out and no clean towels i called when we got back to our room and got told they were still working and they had a lot of rooms to clean. I specifically asked for the trash to be taken out and dirty towels replaced. No one came. On sunday before we left for the day i spoke to house keeper and asked for trash and dirty towels to be removed. They handed me clean towels. When we returned around 4 pm still no one had come to clean, take out trash or get dirty towels out. I called and they said they would send someone over. They came in and took trash and dirty towels but nothing else was cleaned. The people working the lobby were nice, the location was convenient but i will not stay again due to house keeping and smell.

Do not believe any positive reviews. Simply put, this place is disgusting. Not just dirty. Not just rundown. Not just outdated. I would perfectly be fine with any of that. I don't need white glove service or top tier amenities. But this place is putrid. And it is grossly misrepresented here on hotels.com. I stayed exactly 15 minutes before packing up and leaving. And I've been fighting with this website ever since for a refund. For starters, the hotel looks completely abandoned. So much so that you'll think you're in the wrong place. My non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Not a faint tobacco smell. People were absolutely smoking in there. Probably for years. None of the lights worked. The door frame and molding were pulled away from the wall. Everything was filthy and the sheets were covered in brown stains. Read that again....the sheets were covered in brown stains. Check other more reliable sources (Google reviews) for a more accurate representation. The reviews here are not just phony, they are ridiculous. Do not stay at this motel.

The room was just yucky, mold in the shower and on shower curtain. Held together by caulk and whatever. Dog barking all night above me. Lobby door locked in AM so no real coffee to be had.

This is an old property which I knew… age showing, lamp shades deteriorating, shower showing some age stains. TV would not work. Rooms vaguely smelled of smoke and mildew. Noisy environment.. could here the neighbors on their phones. Traffic noise.. but I did have a street facing room. No number on the door to the room. I was told that they may not have breakfast since they were out of food. Breakfast: waffle machine worked. A few packaged muffins and honey buns. Grit packages.. no butter or margarine. No milk. This may just be what breakfast their consists of.. It shouldn’t be advertised as a breakfast .. just minimal snacks.No one available at the front desk in the AM so couldn't talk to any one.

Staff was friendly. Did not get the rooms we signed up for. We signed up for 2 Kings and he said they didn’t have anymore. He said Expedia was suppose to let us know that we would have 2 queens. We were never notified. Showers in both rooms the knob to turn on were broken. Very hard to adjust the temperature with knobs broken. Hotel rooms were old. Best part is it is close to all the activities in Helen and you are only in your room to sleep.

Staff was friendly. Did not get the rooms we signed up for. We signed up for 2 Kings and he said they didn’t have anymore. He said Expedia was suppose to let us know that we would have 2 queens. My family and i stayed here 1 night before continuing on to Cherokee. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The beds are very firm, not my preference, but my husband loved it. You get free parking with your stay and your close enough to walk to the stores in Helen. The building is very old so you could hear every step and children running around the rooms upstairs. If they walked/ ran too hard it kinda sounded like the roof was going to come down. When they were running up and down the upstairs balcony at 1am it echoed around our room.

I am basing my feedback on value and location. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel the breakfast area only had a few tables but it was available. My room had not been updated and was not as nice as the 2 rooms which I stayed in twice last year but the location was great. There are several newer hotels in close proximity for those who need new.

Very old hotel. But it looks like they have made some updates. The carpet looked new and linens. The bathroom really needs some love. The first room didn't have a mirror. So they had to move us. But, it looks like they are making small strides toward improvement.

The staff was super friendly. The properties location was very convenient. We stayed two nights. The first night the room we had there was cigarette burns in the comforter. The room smelled extremely musty. You can hear every step the upstairs guest makes, and apparently the group was insomniacs because when I say all night and into the morning they never stopped pacing back and forth. Then for the best part, we got in the shower and were getting leaked on from the bathroom above. The ceiling started bulging in from all the water. We showed the lady in the office and they offered us a different room for the second night. They swapped our room when it became available that evening. When I say totally different room and experience I mean it. Clean comfortable and this review would have been totally different if we had stayed in this room first. The owner needs to fix and update this property, and then I would say this is the go to place. The staff was very apologetic and nice though.

I was told that they may not have breakfast since they were out of food. Breakfast: waffle machine worked. A few packaged muffins and honey buns. Grit packages.. no butter or margarine. No milk. This may just be what breakfast their consists of.. It shouldn’t be advertised as a breakfast .. just minimal snacks.No one available at the front desk in the AM so couldn't talk to any one.

We arrived on a Thursday at 3 am and the check in was easy, we went to room and it was mostly clean but had a horrible musky or moldy smell. I had to go get fabrize and run the ac cold and constantly ti keep the smell away. The shower had other people's hair in it. Towels were very thin. The next day they came in to clean but did not make the bed or clean shower, only replaced towels and took trash out. On sat they never came in the room to clean, no trash taken out and no clean towels i called when we got back to our room and got told they were still working and they had a lot of rooms to clean. I specifically asked for the trash to be taken out and dirty towels replaced. No one came. On sunday before we left for the day i spoke to house keeper and asked for trash and dirty towels to be removed. They handed me clean towels. When we returned around 4 pm still no one had come to clean, take out trash or get dirty towels out. I called and they said they would send someone over. They came in and took trash and dirty towels but nothing else was cleaned. The people working the lobby were nice, the location was convenient but i will not stay again due to house keeping and smell.

Management staff- so very nice and helpful! Room was clean and bed comfy! Very few choices due to limitation of stations but of course that is no fault of on-site management. Overall a very pleasant stay with the best part being the staff!

Exelent staff.. After checking out we decided to take a walk and grab some lunch before driving home. While eating we realized we had left a favorite hat in the room. Most cleaning staff would have probably thrown that away. They didn't. To our surprise, the staff found our car and stuck the hat in the windshield wiper blades. We will be back. Very nice stay.

The staff was super friendly. The properties location was very convenient. We stayed two nights. The first night the room we had there was cigarette burns in the comforter. The room smelled extremely musty. You can hear every step the upstairs guest makes, and apparently the group was insomniacs because when I say all night and into the morning they never stopped pacing back and forth. Then for the best part, we got in the shower and were getting leaked on from the bathroom above. The ceiling started bulging in from all the water. We showed the lady in the office and they offered us a different room for the second night. They swapped our room when it became available that evening. When I say totally different room and experience I mean it. Clean comfortable and this review would have been totally different if we had stayed in this room first. The owner needs to fix and update this property, and then I would say this is the go to place. The staff was very apologetic and nice though.

It was ok it's close to town and Expedia got it cheap but the pool is out of order a d there's some garbage and debre around the back over allmitneas cozy comfortable and close to everything

Everything was good. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Room was clean. Looks like it had been remodeled/updated. Tub is not new, but it works just fine. No complaints; we enjoyed our stay. Hotel is right on the main road so it is easy to find. Close to shopping and restaurants; walkable. Check-in was quick and easy.

My family and i stayed here 1 night before continuing on to Cherokee. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The beds are very firm, not my preference, but my husband loved it. You get free parking with your stay and your close enough to walk to the stores in Helen. The building is very old so you could hear every step and children running around the rooms upstairs. If they walked/ ran too hard it kinda sounded like the roof was going to come down. When they were running up and down the upstairs balcony at 1am it echoed around our room.

Heater was working great. Room was clean and in good condition. Bathroom was clean and lots of towels. Check in and out were easy and quick and staff was friendly. Close to attractions and Festhalle, great spot. Lots of parking space. Awesome TV and a ton of services and channels. Would recommend and will stay again!

I am basing my feedback on value and location. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel the breakfast area only had a few tables but it was available. My room had not been updated and was not as nice as the 2 rooms which I stayed in twice last year but the location was great. There are several newer hotels in close proximity for those who need new.

This is an old property which I knew… age showing, lamp shades deteriorating, shower showing some age stains. TV would not work. Rooms vaguely smelled of smoke and mildew. Noisy environment.. could here the neighbors on their phones. Traffic noise.. but I did have a street facing room. No number on the door to the room. This place was a dump! The bathroom was gross. The shower head was an after thought. There were no safety bars, no shelves for soap, red mold in two places. Often there was no one at the front desk. There were only two tables in the breakfast area

I was upset that it says i could pay at check in, but he ran my card before i got there. I was paying with cash. Still hasnt been refunded to my card. The pool was not open & was green with filth. The so called continential breakfast is just waffles, apples & oranges. Had trouble with the A/C unit as well.

We had a great time. Location was perfect, room was warm, had a good continental breakfast each morning. Coffee available anytime. The town was decorated all up for Christmas. It was cold outside. The desk clerk was extremely nice❤️

Our room smelled like a dog kennel, the smoke detector appeared to have been ripped off the wall, stains on the bedding, carpet was nasty, old broken furniture in the parking lot, paint peeling off of the ceiling. The property as a whole was in deplorable condition

The people were nice at check in and through our stay BUT our handicap room was supposedly new renovation. There was only ONE ELECTRICAL OUTLET but the nightstands required electricity to operate lamps, charging stations etc and there was only one outlet to plug in one nightstand!! The outlet was on the far side of the room so we had to go purchase extension cord to reach only one nightstand! It was the single light in the entire room!!! This “newly renovated handicap room “ had zero ADA requirements! The shower was NOT ADA! It did have handrails but the high tub/ shower prevented handicap access! The shower had no handheld shower head, the handicap rail for the toilet was mounted BEHIND THE TOILET TANK! Not ADA REGULATIONS! The single chair in the room tipped backwards when you sit and landed you in the floor! Dangerous!! The desk had zero electrical connection and zero lighting. The room was clean, freshly painted but lacked being ready for guests. There was only 1/2 roll of toilet paper, no lid for ice bucket, ironing board with no iron, no lights over bathroom vanity and only two small bath towels for a three day stay. To get ice you had to enter lobby and give your contacts desk clerk to take to a back room to fill when they had time. There was NO WORKING SWIMMING POOL IN 93 degree weather the first week of JULY!! Clerk apologized for inconvenience and seemed embarrassed by the problems we encountered. However, the airconditioning unit worked well Would not sta
