Clean and quiet, and staff were friendly and accommodating. Had a nice pool that was not heated and you had to request the staff to turn the heat on in their hot tub but it was only lukewarm at best. Close to beach.

Easy access, walkable area. Seemed safe to local spots. Hot tub had no railings, making it unsafe getting in and out easily. Late opening of pool and hot tub. We were looking forward to a brief swim and soak before checking out, but couldn’t. Room clean but air conditioner very noisy, difficult to sleep with noise level.

The property amenities stated there was a bar, unfortunately there’s no bar. So if you’re looking for hotels with bars this is not the one. Everything else was good clean and comfortable. Always someone in front. Would definitely book again for the comfort.

The room and bathroom where overall fairly clean. The pool area looked nice but we did not use it.

The entire place smelled like mold- from the moment we walked into the lobby, in the halls leading to our room, as well as in our room. The room hadn’t been cleaned well since the last guest had either. There was a used spoon on the bedside, and sticky candy all over the remote and tables. Then there was mold in the walls and ceiling, inside the lamp shade, even the bed was damp. It was non refundable due to last minute booking but we couldn’t stay there. We chose to leave and pay for a different hotel for the night. The worst part was we were already in a tight situation with money because of car trouble so we didn’t really have the money to waste but staying there would’ve been a health hazard.

These hotel room are covered in black mold. The smell of mold is overwhelming upon entering the rooms. The ceilings and floors both have black mold. Besides that, our room was not clean when we first checked in. The bed was made but that was about it. There was hair in the shower and floor, the toilet was still dirty. Upon walking in, it smells like mold and mildew. Like when you forget when towels in the washing machine. It smelled like that everywhere, including the rooms. Beds are on terrible coils you can hear screeching with any turn in bed. Room 202 is infested with bed bugs. My daughter is all bit up and I have video proof. It is all on her arms and torso. She is so uncomfortable. I demand a refund for both rooms.

As soon as we stepped off the elevator the smell of maybe mold would knock you down. It was no better in our room. Our sheets were stained. They had a feeling of damp when you laid down. Our commode would not flush, the rude gentleman at the check in said he could provide us with a bucket to put water in to flush it. When I was trying to talk to the gentleman on the phone he kept interrupting me and talking over me. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. I 10/10 do NOT recommend this place to stay!

The outside is nice. It's in a good location and real close to the seawall. The beds were not comfortable, the shower rod was coming out of the wall in the restroom, some other cosmetics that needed attention in the restroom and the door to the restroom would not shut all of the way. If you forced it closed, you may not get out.

The front desk guy was completely unprofessional. He even cussed at me and called me a name. He also didn’t want to do anything about the horrible throw up stain in our room and on the side of our bed. Wouldn’t give us his name either and wasn’t wearing a name tag.

I called the hotel several times in the morning to find out whether rooms have microwaves and fridges but no one answered the phone. Check in went smoothly. Found comforter soiled with food stains. Called front desk to get a new comforter but I was told there is housekeeping staff and we have to bring the comforter down to the front desk ourselves. We did that but we had to prove that we were telling truth about stains - had to show the stains before we got a new comforter. We also had to bring luggage cart back to lobby so that front desk guy doesn’t have to leave the front desk. For their defense, they did have notices in the elevators asking guests to bring the luggage carts down. Hotel was short staffed. We travel a lot but never had hotels telling guests to bring the luggage carts down or having to prove that bedding is actually soiled by carrying it to the front desk. Terrible customer service

Day and night it seemed like they were working on the floor above us, there was heavy stomping. I'm glad I wasn't there a lot. The lobby is humid I broke a sweat getting ice on my floor. I did have the TV on which you could bearly hear on blast and there Bluetooth speaker dint work. The staff WAS REAL NICE, BUT THE NIGHT GUY HAD AN ATTITUDE LIKE IF WE GOT THE ROOM FOR FREE OR SOMETHING.

Day and night it seemed like they were working on the floor above us, there was heavy stomping. I'm glad I wasn't there a lot. The lobby is humid I broke a sweat getting ice on my floor. I did have the TV on which you could bearly hear on blast and there Bluetooth speaker dint work. The staff WAS REAL NICE, BUT THE NIGHT GUY HAD AN ATTITUDE LIKE IF WE GOT THE ROOM FOR FREE OR SOMETHING.

The manager when we checked in was unfriendly After leaving/returning that evening no one was staffing the front desk. TV kept turning on & off Absolutely no one at the front desk the morning we left. Several people looking for mgr, no one around. Sorry we stayed

This property was very hard to access…. Only one route into the parking lot from the Seawall It’s in a kind of secluded area somewhat like a maze….and almost hidden…… but a very nice and clean property

We had people in room above us having some type of party going on until 1:30 in morning. There was a large amount of what sounded like construction going on. I called desk numerous times but noise continued until about 1:45am when entire area lost power. WE GOT LITTLE SLEEP. I THINK WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED THE ONE NIGHT ROOM CHARGE.

Staff was great. Other people getting waffles in the morning suck. Waited 30 mins day one and had to leave because one person was making 20 for all their family (bet they didn’t even eat them all). No one else could get one!

This Galveston location provided a good one night stay. The staff was courteous and friendly. The room was cold, and provided a safe place for the night. Breakfast was provided as well. Delicious waffles to make. Would have loved some options for fresh fruit to choose from. Overall a good stay for my family, people were friendly as well.

The moment I walked into the lobby, it smelled amazing — a clear sign that the hotel is clean and well-maintained. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The main pool is warm, which is definitely a plus 😀, and the hot tub was clean as well. However, there are a few downsides. The breakfast was disappointing. For the price we paid, I expected more variety — instead, we were served just a sausage or patty with egg. The only fruit option available was an apple, and there weren’t even simple offerings like hot chocolate. Other hotels at similar price points manage to provide a much better breakfast spread. I truly hope they invest in upgrading the breakfast experience, because the hotel itself is wonderful, and I would love to return. One more thing — the pool towels need attention. They were handed out neatly folded, but still visibly stained. If a towel looks worn or dirty, it should be discarded. As paying guests looking to relax, we shouldn’t feel like we’re being served with the bare minimum.

Our stay was good. Breakfast was good. Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. The bar was closed - a main reason of booking this hotel! They should have that taken off as an amenity if it's unavailable.

My wife and I used this location for a 2 day get a way and here is our honest review of the experience. The building itself appears to be brand new. The lobby is very clean and the check in process was very simple. Took less than 5 minutes and there were others in front of me in line. Our room was on the 5th floor. The halls were clean and relatively quiet. You could hear other doors closing but that’s about it. My only complaint about the room would be the shower head water pressure wasn’t strong enough to our liking. However, everything else was nice and the bed was comfortable. The experience overall was a good one but my second complaint would be that the breakfast wasn’t what I hoped for. The two days we were there your options are eggs, sausage patties, and the waffle maker. They do also have a setup for toast and 3 cereal options. It wasn’t bad just very simple. For a short term stay we would definitely stay here again.

We normally choose to stay at La Quinta's because they are usually clean, safe, smell great and have a great breakfast choice. Unfortunately, that is not the case with the Galveston La Quinta. We found that the hotel had a smell that resembled cat urine. I am not sure if the hotel has plans to renovate or just completed a renovation, but it is apparent that the hotel needs a few updates. My family was disappointed with the breakfast options as the selection of items were very slim as compared to other La Quinta hotel breakfasts we have experienced. In addition, the doors to the breakfast area closed at 9:00a.m SHARP so if you were still eating or needed additional condiments during this time, you were out of luck. I found the front desk night staff to be friendly. We decided that for the price we paid for our one night stay, we should have had a better experience especially since there are several other comparable hotels in the area with better rates and better experiences. I am not sure if this stay changes our view on the La Quinta chain as a whole, but I can guarantee that we will be exploring other hotel options when staying in Galveston.
