Stayed 4 nights

An incredible and special place that has filled our hearts over the past 4 days and made the beginning of our trip to Belize something we will never forget. The Treehouse is even MORE impressive than the listing or pictures could ever do justice. Attention to detail is in every corner and the property is so well cared for and located in such a beautiful setting. Ms. Catherine, the owner is a gracious host. She communicated brilliantly and helped us stay organized prior to our arrival (our first time in Belize) and has made sure you will have anything you need in the house once you get here. We booked our tours through her recommendations and she arranged everything on our behalf and the tour guides and operators were so thoughtful and took great care of us. Tito is the care taker of the property. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us everything. He checked on us each night to ensure we were good and didn’t need anything. The house is immaculate and just beautiful.

The Treehouse is attentively designed and furnished. Both the owner and property manager were great with their communication. The design of the house made it less than ideal for us. A few things to consider: the sitting room is a sleeping space, but is contiguous with the kitchen/dining room/office area. So any light or noise in the center of the house will impact the person sleeping on the day bed. Second, the exterior areas were less than ideal in their function. The limited lighting on the upper deck meant that we couldn't eat dinner outside after dark (6pm in March; one LED string and candles for exterior lighting). The pool and pool table are located under the house. To reach them you need to exit by the front door, walk down the only set of stairs, and then walk under the house. This was surprisingly inconvenient for us and we wound up not using the pool as much as we would have if access were easier. Third, the angles of the house meant that each bedroom had a clear view into the other; this was especially apparent at night. Fourth, the house's quiet location (we heard howler monkeys every morning) comes with a cost: a 1.5 mile unpaved road to reach it. Last issue to be aware of: the house's water is pumped directly from the Mopan River. Sediment is filtered, but the water is not purified. It is inexplicable that the house does not have a stand for a 5 gallon purified water bottle (the norm in Belize) and oddly cheap that the house comes only with 1G of H20.

The Treehouse was perfect for the last part of our Belize holiday. Tito, the caretaker was on site when we arrived. He was extremely helpful & communication was prompt. We liked how it is centrally located, so we could enjoy the many activities in and around San Ignacio. Loved hearing all the sounds of the jungle in the mornings and cooling off in the pool late in the day. A rare find for a truly different lodging experience; we would recommend The Treehouse.

Very roomy, nice big showers, beds comfortable, tucked away on a less busy road. Had a little difficulty with dishwasher cleaning good. Nice big fridge.

The caretaker Tito was incredible, the place is fairly large, nicely furnished, kitchen is well equipped and very clean. Peaceful getaway. Road to the Treehouse was rough due to the wet weather conditions, high clearance 4-wheel drive recommended.
