The rooms themselves are very clean and updated but the outside of the building needs work. It is not a draw if you were just passing by the motel on the road looking for a place to stay. Had a lovely view of the water from our window. Would have been nice to have quick access to the shore.

What a great little motel. Cute rooms with lots of room and clean. Nice little chairs to sit on outside and a wonderful view, especially as the sun went down. Great value too!

We had a great stay. The garden in front of the ocean has an amazing view. Vince is super friendly and funny. The beds are very comfortable. Room was better than the pictures. We would definitely stay here again!

The couple who own the place are super nice and gave us many hints of what to see and do around the Cape Breton Highlands park. The room was very clean and the view of the water was gorgeous. Plenty of chairs positioned around so that you can sit back and relax and watch the rides rise and fall. The internet router was down so we had a sketchy connection in our room which was at the very end, but near the office the signal was pretty strong. Keep in mind there is no air conditioning but there are windows on both sides to get cross ventilation during the cool nights in the summer. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Great location, very comfortable and impeccably clean room at the waters edge. The views of the bay are fantastic. The owner was very friendly and informative and shows that she truly cares for her guests. She volunteered great information for area attractions and restaurants all around the Cabot Trail. Nice sea food restaurant right next door. We stayed two nights and highly recommend this motel to anyone with highest of standards and expectations. This is an example of what the authentic Cabot Trail hospitality is all about. We WILL be back. Thank you Tina!

The property is right on the water. You can actually swim from the back of the property. The owners are always present and are extremely helpful. I would stay there again just because of them! The rooms are a bit dated, but they are working to improve them. We loved our stay. The only thing that was missing was air-conditioning, but we knew that ahead of time, and they are working at adding it.

The motel is a bit old with limited electrical outlets in the room and the WiFi is poor. We have to sit outside the room for streaming but the view from the window is spectacular. It’s great the restaurant Lobest Galley is tight next to it.

Yes, the property is a bit dated. But it’s clean and budget friendly. And you’re looking out over the water from your room or right outside. The owners were hilarious and shared multiple ideas of things to do and see on the Cabot trail that we not have otherwise known. Great advice and we appreciated that.

This a small single story motel. The water views are gorgeous and literally right outside the windows of the rooms. The rooms were all super clean. Beds were comfy. Room had fridge and microwave.We appreciated the real coffee cups and wineglasses provided. Owner was friendly and super helpful with tips on food and irony recommendations.

The staff is amazing a wealth of information and comical to boot. The rooms were clean and quaint. The view was amazing and easy access to Cabot’s Trail . Theygave many recommendations on where to eat visit ect that made our stay that much more enjoyable .

Nice motel at the start of the Cabot Trail. Room was clean. Bed was good. Room was well equipped with coffee, toaster microwave and kettle. Bathroom fan did little to cycle out the moisture in the air but rest was perfect.

The property was difficult to find and there was no cell reception on the roads getting there so my GPS wasn't working, better signage from the main highway would be helpful. The fan was broken in my room and the room hadn't been vacuumed as I found a pill on the carpet and dead bugs on the floor and the remote was super sticky..ick. but other than that it was lovely.

I stayed at your motel in room 4 this weekend (oct 27 to 29) and 1. Safety. The door window does not lock. Brought to owners attention. He put a 1 inch square piece of stick in the track. He said there was no point fixing it because it keeps breaking. 2. Heat. I froze! I could not get the heat to work. I had to bring my own blanket in because there were no spare blankets in the closet. When I did get the heat to work it was too hot. Sauna hot. thermostats must be from the 50s. 3. Tub mats are moldy, cracked and very old. It is so gross. Tub had a 3/4" sized hole in the upper back side. He said he put a rubber duckie on it to hide it but some kid took it. 4. Bed: Lumpy, very uncomfortable, feels like it will fall apart. What is with the hand cuff handles on the head board. Creeped me out. Bed smelled like pee. And i woke with bug bites..... also flying bugs in room...ew. 5. Plugs: no bedside table phone to call for help if needed, no access to a wall plug for cell phone recharging . I felt uncomfortable having my phone closer to the door than me. As a woman travelling alone, having the phone beside me is very comforting. The plugs behind the headboard were inaccessible. 6. Water : none to drink. Water from tap was brown. No bottled water or access to a local store for same. 30 minute drive to store. 7. Satellite tv: very few channels worked. Kept saying not included in plan. Nothing to watch. Cell reception too weak for data. Manager no where to be found at checkout

St. Ann’s Motel was a wonderful stay! Owner Vince was warm, friendly, and gave us excellent travel and food recommendations. The location at the start of the Cabot Trail is perfect, and the Atlantic Ocean views from our room were absolutely stunning. Rooms were clean and comfortable, we’d love to come back!

The location is but bad. Right on the corner of the Cabot Trail but a bit noisy. The decor is circa 1980 with broken tiles in the bathroom and a lamp shade that is also broken. The decor is so old. It needs to be replaced as I’m sure it has been like that for over 40 years. Bathtub was new but I wouldn’t walk in the carpet in bare feet. The bed was softer but was passable but old as well. Towels old and the sink did not have a stopper so you could look down at the gross black hole. I stayed in cabin 5. And the internet did not work. Just a really bad experience and probably the worst I have ever stayed and I have travelled all over the world.

Incredible, friendly welcome from the host when we checked in. The view was absolutely spectacular. Be mindful there is no air conditioning, which was our only issue. The fan provided was a saving grace. The toaster and kettle came in handy. The bed was comfortable and overall we had a good stay!

Small owner-managed motel with approx 8 units. Purchased by owners during COVID and they are slowly renovating the rooms. I started out in an older room. It appeared very clean, but the mattress showed caverns where two bodies would lie, showing wear in the mattress. I requested a different room and was given a partially renovated room. This room also showed the caverns for two bodies on the mattress but it seemed like they weren’t so deep. I swatted one and it was white so I have no idea what it was. The owner pointed to the swamp across the street as the source. Owner had a lovely disposition, the ocean view was fantastic. However the bugs, worn mattresses and lack of A/C would prevent me from returning.

We chose to stay here because of its location at the start of the Cabot trail and the lake views. It also offered the self catering facilities we like-microwave, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. However, the price indicated that the accommodation could be basic and it was. The furniture was a bit of a hotch potch and it could all do with redesigning and renewing. Then we would have been happy to pay double the price.

Yes, the property is a bit dated. But it’s clean and budget friendly. And you’re looking out over the water from your room or right outside. The owners were hilarious and shared multiple ideas of things to do and see on the Cabot trail that we not have otherwise known. Great advice and we appreciated that.

The staff is amazing a wealth of information and comical to boot. The rooms were clean and quaint. The view was amazing and easy access to Cabot’s Trail . Theygave many recommendations on where to eat visit ect that made our stay that much more enjoyable .

The property was very convenient for our travels on the Cabot Trail. Our room had an ezcellent view, and was righr on, the St. Annes Bay. Owner Vince was awesome. Surpassed every expectation.

Vince was very accommodating when we arrived later than expected, and he took the time to recommend must-see stops and eateries along the trail. The room décor is dated, but it has the cozy feel of a sleepover at Grandma’s house. Everything was clean and quiet, and the views made for a truly pleasant stay.

Nice motel at the start of the Cabot Trail. Room was clean. Bed was good. Room was well equipped with coffee, toaster microwave and kettle. Bathroom fan did little to cycle out the moisture in the air but rest was perfect.

The property was difficult to find and there was no cell reception on the roads getting there so my GPS wasn't working, better signage from the main highway would be helpful. The fan was broken in my room and the room hadn't been vacuumed as I found a pill on the carpet and dead bugs on the floor and the remote was super sticky..ick. but other than that it was lovely.

Wunderschöne Aussicht auf den See und direkt am Cabot Trail. Leider gibt es in der Nähe keine Möglichkeit zu frühstücken und man muss mindestens eine halbe Stunde fahren, bis man etwas zu essen bekommt. Abends gibt es ein Restaurant direkt daneben.

The motel is a bit old with limited electrical outlets in the room and the WiFi is poor. We have to sit outside the room for streaming but the view from the window is spectacular. It’s great the restaurant Lobest Galley is tight next to it.

The location and view can't be beat. Easy off the highway and can sit in front of our picture window and be right next to the ocean water gazing across the bay. The owners were beyond helpful giving us suggestions on places to eat, see and do. They were a big help.

Host Vince was fantastic—very friendly, helpful and full of great information about the area. The property is a little dated from the outside, and a new sign would definitely give it a fresher look. Also, bring bug spray if you're staying here! The lobster restaurant right next door was excellent, which was an added bonus. 🦞 Overall, a great value, beautiful location and a wonderful host. We’d happily stay again!

Vince was so helpful and friendly. Room was small although well equipped. No air conditioning but with windows open together with a very powerful and large fan we found in the closet did the trick. Fantastic location and view.
