This is an underrated property in Manitowoc. Pros: Clean, recently remodeled rooms and free breakfast. Friendly staff and super fast check-in. Cons: Breakfast is right next to the check-in desk, so if you want to sit and eat, you have to walk all the way to the dining room on the other side of the pool and bar. Oh, and the bar is not open, nor is there any food service. Otherwise, if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the downtown area, this is the place.

We would have liked to see more options at breakfast especially some hot options. They had a broken glass skylight in the pool area. Very conveniently located next to the lake and within walking distance to many local businesses. We would stay there again.

I was really happy with this hotel! The bed and pillows were really comfortable - lots of full size pillows lol! Nice waterfront location on the marina, walking paths & a couple restaurants within a few minutes. Since it was summer I went to the beautiful local beaches & did not use the pool or hot tub. I did skip the continental breakfast & opted for the brunch place one block away. Parking was great. They could clean up the exterior doorways as there are a lot of spiderwebs on the outside in the summer - like lots! Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

Great location and would happily stay here again! The continental breakfast was disappointing so don't count on eating it but that did not ruin our stay as we packed food for ourselves. Place was very clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you get a room that faces the balcony towards the pool do note that you will hear kids frolicking early in the morning. We turned on our AC to drown out the sound. The little arcade downstairs was fun! We did not get to take advantage of the hotel bar that was open on Saturday night but we will next time. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the rooms were very clean!

I was very disappointed. The upper levels smelled like cigarette smoke. Ice machine broke. Hot tub cold, sand in it and the water was the color of dirty mop water. Also sauna was broke.

Main elevator was out of service. Continental breakfast was minimal & underwhelming. Comforter on bed was dirty. Room was frigid and couldn't use heater since it smelled like something burning and we couldn't ventilate the room because the windows didn't open. Sauna was out of service. Lobby, room, and pool area were otherwise clean.

Nice rooms. Super comfy bed. Decent view. Couldn’t help but notice how dirty all the windows were, though. We paid extra for a lake view room and could hardly see it through the dirty glass and bug-filled cobwebs. The atrium and elevator windows were really dirty too. It seems an oversight with all of the other improvements they made. The continental breakfast wasn’t great. We ended up going to a local diner instead.

We paid extra for a harbor view room but the window was so filthy we could hardly see out and definitely not get pictures like I was hoping. Air conditioner is antique and hard to keep the room a constant temp. Bathroom was so small we had to take turns and it took longer to get ready Clerk suggested we park on the side of the building where sea gulls made a mess of my car!

We had stayed here every year for about 40 years but stopped going about 4 years ago after the place was not kept up and was really deteriorating. We heard it was bought out and upgraded. We were sorry to see most of the windows were still not cleaned so it is difficult to get a lake view looking through the white film, cobwebs, and bugs covering the glass. The toilet had a black ring around the water line which would have been easy to clean with a quick swipe of a toilet brush. It looks like the bathroom was redone but already had mold on the tub caulking. Overall we did not see much improvement over the previous owners.

Lobby and halls hadn’t been refreshed in decades, and it didn’t feel clean. Room was fine. Breakfast had changed dramatically since my last visit. Selection was less than minimal. Also, no cups available for the beverages offered.

We have stayed here many times and enjoy the upgrades. We love staying here However this time - there was no ice as the ice machine was broke and the front desk ran out before we could get any and our room was not cleaned - there was someone socks left on the floor when we checked in and the room was very musty and the floor needed to be vacuumed

The hotel location is quite good. It is right on the river in a central area. The view is beautiful. The hotel has been around awhile and appears to have been well outfitted. The current managers are bringing it up to date. Our room was fresh, colorful and clean. Our biggest concern was the small, low to the floor toilet. I am a retired teacher and the toilet was exactly like those used in our kindergarten rooms at school. We are in our 70s and getting up and down was difficult. In contrast the bath tub had a bar to hold and an excellent shower head. The tv, microwave, and refrigerator were very useful and nice to have. When I asked the desk for help, the response was quick and effective. There was a large area that had meeting rooms and a dining area. Breakfast was served from the main lobby. I foresee a time when you could use the dining room for breakfast and dinners for groups using the meeting rooms. You seem to have enough space, you could rent it to an restaurant group to run for you. Your location would bring in people to dine only. You could use more workers so you could keep up the hallways and sidewalks outside. Everybody at the Inn were working and attentive to the guests.We had overall a pleasant experience. Our son has just moved to the area and we look forward to coming to stay at the Inn on Maritime Bay in the future. Can't wait to see your future use of the buildings.

The room was adequate. The location was great for the holiday weekend. The room was promoted as a "lake view" but the window was so small (and high) that you really did not have a view of the lake.

This property is a bit tired, but the rooms are updated and relatively nice. Comfortable bed. The rates are competitive and the location cannot be beat. Definitely the best location in Manitowoc.

Our stay was nice....but the air conditioner was really loud. Someone should definitely look at that. Therefore our room was very warm because it was too loud to run at night. Also, I wish they had OJ as an option for the breakfast. Only Milk and coffee offered.

The staff was very helpful, the pool was lovely, and the beds were quite comfortable. The room's heating system filled the space with smoke and a burning smell. It would be good to make upgrading this system a top priority.

The staff was friendly and the building was very clean. The bathrooms are really small and the toilet was very loud upon flushing. The only trash bin was a small bin next to the bowl room desk. The area of the hotel is perfect. It is next to the maritime museum, along Lake Michigan, and choose to downtown shopping.

Reserved online in the morning, when we arrived and checked in, I was told I had 2 rooms ordered. When I said it must be a mistake, I only booked one, I was told I'd have to work with the 3rd party with whom I reserved with. Long story short, Maritime Bay wouldn't cancel, Hotels and Expedia wouldn't cancel, said I had to work with the Motel. Run around from both ends and was basically told by everyone, "Oh well, you booked it." Great customer service all the way around (Being sarcastic here). They place wasn't that great. The breakfast was about as tight wad as you could get (for the money paid for the night). One type of bagel or English muffin, one type yogurt, a couple types of cereal in the small box, milk or OJ, that's it. Was in town for a funeral, and left there to attend another, so tough times + a bad experience and again, no sympathy or relief from anyone to get it right. Only reason we stayed there is that it was on the lake and thought to try to relax a bit between funerals. Not so much in the end. Ahhhhh.
Reserved online in the morning, when we arrived and checked in, I was told I had 2 rooms ordered. When I said it must be a mistake, I only booked one, I was told I'd have to work with the 3rd party with whom I reserved with. Long story short, Maritime Bay wouldn't cancel, Hotels and Expedia wouldn't cancel, said I had to work with the Motel. Run around from both ends and was basically told by everyone, "Oh well, you booked it." Great customer service all the way around (Being sarcastic here). They place wasn't that great. The breakfast was about as tight wad as you could get (for the money paid for the night). One type of bagel or English muffin, one type yogurt, a couple types of cereal in the small box, milk or OJ, that's it. We love coming over to the Maritime Inn. Enjoy the closeness to everything. Park car and able to walk to many things. Lots of music in the area for the 4th weekend. Guess unless you ask they don’t clean or stock your room. Also upon checkin asked if we could pay cash at checkout. Was already charged to card before we checked out.

Beginning nearly a week before our reservation I inquired through Expedia for a one day change due to my wife's surgery date being moved up. No response. I then inquired about a credit for a later date. Still no response. I watched the reservation page and there were always rooms available. After the actual reservation date Expedia let me know that the Inn declined my request and I will be charged full rate for the room I didn't use. I've never had a hotel deny a date change before. When we do make it back to Manitowoc we won't be considering the Inn again. I'm not as disappointed in the refusal to reschedule as I am the refusal to communicate. Poor customer service.

Terrible, I was informed I had double booked somehow through Hotels.com. From there, a complete run around, couldn't cancel one because "policy" says must cancel within 24 hours. How is that possible when I made the reservations that morning? Hotels was no help either as they said work through the hotel. Basically told, "Oh well, You made the reservation." Was in town for a funeral, then had to leave from there to attend another funeral. Not empathy, no trying to make it right, no working with you, etc. Breakfast was a joke, no were to sit except inside the pool area. I've spent a lot of nights in less expensive hotels/motels that were less expensive, nicer facilities and way better breakfast offerings. would never stay again, would never come back. You folks are very heartless but do know how t squeeze every dollar possible out of a night's stay. What I wished I knew before ever considering your place. You managed to make a bad situation way worse. I didn't sleep well that night as a result of the customer service i DIDN'T receive, wondering how you manage to sleep at all with such things on your conscience.

Two rooms and upon arriving to our rooms one room had some guy in the bed. Pretty terrifying after coming off the us badger late at night and trying to get a room to sleep. The front desk the next morning was notified and they said the management would contact me. We were terrified about our room as we still have not been contacted. Dont go here!

The hotel is on Lake Michigan with beautiful views of the harbor. Recent renovations look very nice. However, when we arrived the receptionist tried to put us in a cheaper room than what we'd prepaid for. When we complained she said that they were out of the Lakeview rooms that we'd reserved but after we persisted, she found one available. Breakfast is a very limited continental breakfast with very few low sugar options. New renovation is very nice but not complete and I tripped and fell on some unmarked uneven flooring between the stairwell and second floor.

It was okay, for the room cost I was expecting something a little better. I booked an accessible room and when we checked in, we were given a regular room. We went out for dinner and when we came back we couldn't get back in our room. The door latch was sticking, the front person came up and was able to get the room open, we also told him that we booked an accessible room, he did switch us, so that was nice. The breakfast was nothing special, I've had better breakfast's at Super 8's.

I was really happy with this hotel! The bed and pillows were really comfortable - lots of full size pillows lol! Nice waterfront location on the marina, walking paths & a couple restaurants within a few minutes. Since it was summer I went to the beautiful local beaches & did not use the pool or hot tub. I did skip the continental breakfast & opted for the brunch place one block away. Parking was great. They could clean up the exterior doorways as there are a lot of spiderwebs on the outside in the summer - like lots! Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

The building is a bit dated but has been maintained. The property has a nice view of Lake Michigan and is close to restaurants and the museum in downtown Manitowoc. We'll definitely consider the property again if we're in the area.

Reception staff was welcoming and informative. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Nice view of the lake from our room window. Pleasant evening sunset walk along the lake shore and around the harbor.

This is an underrated property in Manitowoc. Pros: Clean, recently remodeled rooms and free breakfast. Friendly staff and super fast check-in. Cons: Breakfast is right next to the check-in desk, so if you want to sit and eat, you have to walk all the way to the dining room on the other side of the pool and bar. Oh, and the bar is not open, nor is there any food service. Otherwise, if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the downtown area, this is the place.

Great location. Could walk to a lot of places, including the lighthouse. The breakfast was pretty basic. It included yogurt, bagels, granola bars and cereal. The bed was super comfy. I have issues sleeping at most hotels but not this one. Would definitely stay again.

Main elevator was out of service. Continental breakfast was minimal & underwhelming. Comforter on bed was dirty. Room was frigid and couldn't use heater since it smelled like something burning and we couldn't ventilate the room because the windows didn't open. Sauna was out of service. Lobby, room, and pool area were otherwise clean.

We were a little disappointed with what was offered for the breakfast. It was nice eating breakfast outside seeing both the lake and river. We would stay again!

An older property past its prime with everything feeling 25 years out of date. In addition, both rooms we booked did not have clean toilets, with obvious evidence of the previous guests, if you catch my drift. An instant fail for me, but the front desk did change the rooms without a problem.

Our toilet had so much pee buildup behind the toilet seat and some on the base of the toilet. There was a red straw under the table and a different guests key card holder on the floor. In the hallways, if you looked in the corners, it looked like no one had ever vacuumed before. This place was so gross, which is very unfortunate as they just re-branded and remodeled.

Great hotel, nice staff, a nice area for a small town. Locals were friendly, food is great, and drinks are cheap! 2nd year here and enjoyed how clean the hotel is.
