Hotel Baren is a lovely Swiss hotel right next to the bus stop for skiing in transportation around. It’s right by the bobsled and the skeleton.The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever experienced. The Spa and Pool with both a hot tub and a sauna were wonderful. Don’t forget to book a masseuse right there at the spa. The staff is so helpful. The Mountain View‘s from our balcony and bedroom were lovely.

I booked a few room for family members. The hotel is wonderful with a personal touch, fire in the lobby, great restaurant and very good value. Only suggestion is to consider changing the night key system.

l'hôtel était bien. Juste que nous l'avions choisi car il y avait une piscine intérieure. Malheureusement la piscine était en réparation et pas disponible. Sur le site de hôtel.com la piscine était annoncée comme utilisable

The location of the hotel was amazing right next to the start of the Bob Run. It was so much fun to walk out from our room and watch the World Cup Sledding competition. The hotel also has a beautiful old school Swiss Chalet charm and the onsite restaurant, bar, fireplace and sitting areas were so nice.

The property is under-rated. The room was quite nice. Neither lavish nor large, but clean and quite comfortable. The spa had a good steam room and sauna with robes and towels provided. The indoor pool was closed when we were there but was large with lots of chairs. The staff was uniformly helpful and incredibly pleasant and clearly fluent in several languages. They arranged shuttles to and from the train station. The breakfast was nice -- basic but good food. The on property restaurant was also good. The only downside is that its a bit of a walk from the hotel to most things -- except for bobsledding which is two minutes away. There is a bus stop outside the hotel though we didn't try the bus. We enjoy walking but could see how it would be too much for some people. Overall: we would for sure stay there again.

A lovely hotel, but the room was not well lit. No light on the desk, no reading light over the bed. Bright modern lights in entryway and bathroom, but that is not where I wanted to work and read. Also, very odd way of presenting cheese in the breakfast room. I have not seen this anywhere else in Switzerland. Cheese cut into strips and put in little glasses get stale very fast. Loved the pool!

Lovely historic property - very quaint. The rooms were a little small and the shower was tiny but beautiful views out of our window and te staff was friendly and informative. The door locked at 10 and another room key was necessary for that. Our friend used the pool and loved it but said it wasn't warm. The area was amazing- we were set apart from the noise but were able to easily walk ( 5-10 minutes) to shopping and historical sites. The restaurant was good - although some in our prty thought it was fair so we might venture out if we went back. Very nice hotel.

Lovely experience. First of all: it's the people. the gentleman on the desk was really kind and covered everything well at check in, which was nice as I was arriving late. Others will criticise that it's an older building, but it actually has character and a quirkiness and an authenticity . If you want a chain hotel generic 4 to 5 star experience, then go elsewhere. this actually seemed what I would have thought of as Swiss experience.. The Downsides: The room was small, but you get what you pay for and it was really all I wanted. Breakfast could have been a little more imaginative and a bit more modern - - - but it was only CHF 15. I think in most places an option on Low fat milk would be nice. Scrambled eggs were overdone (but hard to get right anywhere unless cooked from start,) and the tureen was very very oddly placed in the room. Pet peeve, the Orangejuice tasted like "concentrated Orange Juice:, whereas I think most people would expect "not from concentrate". Everything was scrupulously clean, if older, and a nice redevelopment effort within the confines of the building, though I'm not sure I'd have used the log like coffee tables in the room which are more like an obstruction to trip over. Notwithstanding it was St Moritz, the pricing was high, Overall a really really good experience. I'd love to go back sometime. They're very tuned into that a lot of their client group will be for the Glacier Express and they offered I think free transfer for the train time

The room was better than I expected. Very comfortable and clean. Restaurant was wonderful as was the service. One note of caution. If you come on the train, call the hotel to pick you up. The walk to the hotel is steep and strenuous—difficult with even a small suitcase.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and available for questions. The bed was terrible. Old, flannel linens were on the bed. The linens were pilled and scratched my skin. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and probably 20 years old. There were few amenities. The bathroom only included some mystery gel in the shower, which I never determined if it were shampoo, soap, or both. The shower only had half of a door. There was a hinge on the shower door, showing that at one time the door was larger and the hotel never replaced the other half. When asked for an iron, I was told that I could go to the community room to use an iron. I've never stayed at a hotel in which I had to use a shared room, with a shared iron and ironing board. It felt like a hostel.

Centrally located. There is a free shuttle to and from train station. We didn’t realize upon our arrival and ended up on a steep incline walk up to the hotel. I didn’t the shuttle option when booking so be aware. It’s a great service as the town is all hills. Easy to walk through the city center from hotel which was clean and comfortable.

小高い場所にあるため、駅から徒歩では大変だと思いますが、往復とも送迎サービスをしてくれたので助かりました。また到着時刻変更の当日のお願いにも快く対応していただきました。チェックインの時には、英語力が乏しい私達に間違いなく伝わるように、筆談を交えて根気よく、かつフレンドリーに対応していただき感激しました。何と言っても最高だったのは、部屋の窓からの景色が、まるで絵画のように素晴らしかったことです。

The staff at Hotel Bären was friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We liked the high up location and enjoyed exploring the Olympic bobsled run next door. Only downside was extremely small shower and radiator heat that was hard to control.

Lovely historic property - very quaint. The rooms were a little small and the shower was tiny but beautiful views out of our window and te staff was friendly and informative. The door locked at 10 and another room key was necessary for that. Our friend used the pool and loved it but said it wasn't warm. The area was amazing- we were set apart from the noise but were able to easily walk ( 5-10 minutes) to shopping and historical sites. The restaurant was good - although some in our prty thought it was fair so we might venture out if we went back. Very nice hotel.

Hotel Baren is a lovely Swiss hotel right next to the bus stop for skiing in transportation around. It’s right by the bobsled and the skeleton.The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever experienced. The Spa and Pool with both a hot tub and a sauna were wonderful. Don’t forget to book a masseuse right there at the spa. The staff is so helpful. The Mountain View‘s from our balcony and bedroom were lovely.

The staff at Hotel Bären was friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We liked the high up location and enjoyed exploring the Olympic bobsled run next door. Only downside was extremely small shower and radiator heat that was hard to control.

Centrally located. There is a free shuttle to and from train station. We didn’t realize upon our arrival and ended up on a steep incline walk up to the hotel. I didn’t the shuttle option when booking so be aware. It’s a great service as the town is all hills. Easy to walk through the city center from hotel which was clean and comfortable.

All the staff were very nice & helpful. Maria & Ronald were great. Food was wonderful! The small gathering for Christmas Eve was so nice to see. The owners should be very proud of their entire staff and business. Thank you again!

The property is under-rated. The room was quite nice. Neither lavish nor large, but clean and quite comfortable. The spa had a good steam room and sauna with robes and towels provided. The indoor pool was closed when we were there but was large with lots of chairs. The staff was uniformly helpful and incredibly pleasant and clearly fluent in several languages. They arranged shuttles to and from the train station. The breakfast was nice -- basic but good food. The on property restaurant was also good. The only downside is that its a bit of a walk from the hotel to most things -- except for bobsledding which is two minutes away. There is a bus stop outside the hotel though we didn't try the bus. We enjoy walking but could see how it would be too much for some people. Overall: we would for sure stay there again.

The location of the hotel was amazing right next to the start of the Bob Run. It was so much fun to walk out from our room and watch the World Cup Sledding competition. The hotel also has a beautiful old school Swiss Chalet charm and the onsite restaurant, bar, fireplace and sitting areas were so nice.

This hotel is on top of a mountain. Arriving guests can call the front desk for a pickup at the train station and save an exhausting climb up. Very much wish that feature had been listed or mentioned somewhere before my trip. I found out about it only after the long hike.

El Hotel es acogedor, bonito, buen desayuno, atención, sin embargo, es lejos de la estación de tren vs. lo que informa en hoteles.com. dice 400 mts y son en realidad diria kilometro largo. El hotel cuenta con un shuttle pero hasta 6.30 pm, si llegas despues, como suelen llegar los trenes de la tarde - noche toca coger bus que ya en la tarde -noche deja a mitad de camino.

The room was better than I expected. Very comfortable and clean. Restaurant was wonderful as was the service. One note of caution. If you come on the train, call the hotel to pick you up. The walk to the hotel is steep and strenuous—difficult with even a small suitcase.

I booked a few room for family members. The hotel is wonderful with a personal touch, fire in the lobby, great restaurant and very good value. Only suggestion is to consider changing the night key system.

A lovely hotel, but the room was not well lit. No light on the desk, no reading light over the bed. Bright modern lights in entryway and bathroom, but that is not where I wanted to work and read. Also, very odd way of presenting cheese in the breakfast room. I have not seen this anywhere else in Switzerland. Cheese cut into strips and put in little glasses get stale very fast. Loved the pool!

最低最悪です！お勧めしません！！ 4人で2部屋エコノミーダブルルームを予約しました。現地では階数違いの2部屋でした。私が泊まった部屋は、狭くスーツケースを2つ開ける場所が無い、バスタブなし、0.2畳くらいの小さいシャワーボックス？洗面台は古いタイプがひとつ、トイレも古く流すときはタンクの棒を持ち上げて流すタイプでした。そしてこのシャワーボックスの扉のジャバラが切れており、水が外に出てトイレ周りがビシャビシャ。これで1泊一部屋7万円弱です！サンモリッツは高いのでしょうがないのかな、、と思っていたのですが・・・そして、夜にもうひとつの部屋に行ったらビックリ！全然違うのです！部屋もバスルームも広く、バスタブあり、トイレはボタン押し、洗面台は2個。まさにこちらが予約した部屋。ありえない！朝、左右の部屋がチェックアウト済みでドアが開いていたので覗いたら、なんと同じ部屋の作りでシングルルームでした。私たちはシングルルームにツインのベッドを入れられたようです。 2部屋なぜ同じ部屋じゃないのか、そして部屋が無いのならその料金を払っているので通常はアップグレードになるかと。なぜ料金以下の部屋に泊まらされたのか。本当に酷い対応をされました。返金して欲しいくらいです。 1週間のスイスの楽しい思い出が台無しとなりました。

The common areas (lobby, restaurants, etc.) are quite nice: four stars. The rooms, however, are pretty basic: 3 stars at best. But it's a pricy town and the rooms are reasonable. The sledding center and Bob Sled tracks are nearby, a big plus in the winter time. Easy downhill walk to the lake. We ate at the restaurant twice and were very pleased with our meals. Tour groups occupy the large dining room and can get quite loud. But we were happy to have some privacy in the smaller dining room. Our quarter-circle shower had a major leak due to torn gaskets in the doors. Should have been addressed long ago. A big plus is the local travel card. We rode buses, furniculars and ski lifts for free during our August stay. That alone saved us more than 160 CHF in just one day.
