The hotel is at the very center of a lovely plaza and street. There is plenty of restaurants and super cute shops. The hotel is very old but nicely decorated with a pretty breakfast room. There are fabulous restaurants on site including a special wine cellar.

The location was right in the old town with loads of action and lots of outdoor cafes. not far from the river and lakes. Coop supermarket nearby as was the main station. Only real downside was the entry where you had to carry your heavy bags up some 20 stairs. No porter.

Great location! Walking distance to every spot we could imagine. Lots of restaurants and shops around the hotel + turist attractions. They also had a "doggy" roof top where people bring their dogs, have a beer or cocktail and enjoy. We were very pleased!

Hotel is reasonably priced and in an excellent location for a visit to Zurich. Breakfast served is excellent with fresh pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt and boiled eggs cooked to order. Facilities are clean and staff is accommodating. Rooms and bathrooms are small as to be expected in an historic facility. They are sparse with little decoration, adequate beds and very small televisions located far across the room. Check-in requires navigating a flight of stairs, but an elevator is available up from there. Overall a good choice and value for a visit to the heart of Zurich

The staff at this hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and the basement wine cellar is a great feature. The only downside to this property was that there were about 10 stairs from the ground level up to reception. From there, there is an elevator, but it was a little harder for my father to get around than we realized. The room was clean and comfortable, and the area was quiet at night, but close to the main train station and lots of shopping and restaurants.

It is a boutique hotel right in old town surrounded by manny eting options and close to everything. The entrance has short flight of stairs. Wish there was an elevator to take luggage up. They habe an elevtor but it starts from lobby level.

Staff is very kind. Close to everything. Nice roof top bar area peaceful and wine cellar bar. No fan or AC super hot. Beds not super comfortable, but staff and area great. For super hot summer months maybe not best choice but otherwise great place!!

Family friendly feel. Great customer service. Central to everything. Walk anywhere. No air conditioning but weather was great. Hotel provides a fan. But slept with the window wide open and it was fine. I didn’t mind. Perfectly safe to do so. To access the main lobby, you have to climb a full flight of stairs with your luggage. I also did not mind. But some may have an issue with it. I would certainly stay there again.

The hotel was in a great location. It was very easy to walk anywhere in Zurich or access public transportation. The staff was very friendly (even the pup!). The rooms were very clean, breakfast was satisfying and the rooftop bar was spectacular. When I return to Zurich, I will definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Nice spot in an active part of historic Zurich. Easy access to the train station and restaurants. Enjoyed the wine cellar one evening. Took a cab here from airport. Walked to a nearby port for a lake cruise that we could get on and off to visit the Lindt museum. Then took a train ride to Chur.

Very old hotel which is to be expected in Zurich. but it needs a lot of maintenance & care. We needed to change rooms as the 1st alloted had no toilet seat lid, loose shower head & soap dispenser fell off the wall. It was a total disappointment. The only good thing was its location.

The hotel is an easy walk from the main train station. While the room is a bit small, it was immaculate and had great WiFi, a good breakfast (included) and the staff were very friendly. Nice neighborhood for dining and drinks. All in all a good 'home away from home' in Zürich!

Room 402 during Oct. 5-7. Pros: - good location Cons: - room is tiny, did not match the photos - very old rooms - room was not cleaned properly beforehand. There were still things from the previous occupants in the room (dirty wash cloths) - very loud building, not loud street noise - the reception plays music from the lobby which is very loud as it echos throughout the buildings. It sounds like banging and furniture moving from above within our room. At investigating, we found it was the music and we ask her to turn it off. This ruined the entire first night staying there. Could not sleep without ear plugs as a result. The lack of self awareness that maybe it’s not a good idea to play music that can be herd throughout the building is amazing. Really ruined the first night at over $220/night. It hurts. Terrible night sleep as a result.

Great little B&B in the heart of the Neiderdorf section (which has a fantastic array of restaurants and bars, near the river and Lake and many sites you will want to visit, very quaint). Very helpful and pleasant staff. Nice beakfast!! Our only issue was the room had very strong smell of cigarettes unfortunately. It did have a non-smoking sign on door, but last guest did not care.

The hotel was fine and the people were friendly. My ratings are based on the lack of air conditioning. It was really really hot and sleeping was difficult even with a fan. It was an unusual heat wave but if you are going to Zurich in the summer just keep in mind that this hotel is not air conditioned.

This is a quaint hotel right on the street in the middle of everything in Old Town (oldest hotel in Zurich). But with that comes a few things to be aware of: 20 stairs to climb to get to the lobby. Tough with big luggage. 2. No air conditioning, just a table top fan. Beware if you go in the hot season. 3. Room is very small (#502). I know there are some big rooms ( ones ending in “1”), but we didn’t have it. All things considered, nice place to stay for only one or two nights.

Great location in the old town area. Walkable from the main train station and many dining options around the area. The only thing is that there’s no ac since none of the old buildings in the old town area have ac, so it can get pretty hot in the room.

Very good location, but please be aware that there is no air conditioning and the bathroom is quite small. Be aware that the hotel requires prepayment even though it is marked as "pay later" at expedia.

This hotel is in an excellent location which is the center of the old town. There is a lot of restaurants around. One main problem is that the hotel does not have air-conditioning. This is challenging in the summer. The sink is too small. The shower area is also very small. This condition may or may not be compatible to the price of the hotel since I did not compare it with other nearby hotels. Therefore, I recommend you compare nearby hotels in terms of room size and air-conditioning when making a reservation

The room was clean , staff very nice and friendly. But the shower wasn’t pleasant at all. It was getting either so hot or so cold. We couldn’t enjoy the shower to get relaxed , a minute got very hot to the boiling point and a minute after got very cold.

Conveniently located on a square so easy access to restaurants, sites, and transportation. With that being said, there was a 10 piece orchestra playing until later in the evening. There was no AC so lots of noise (you could hear people talking late at night even with the window closed. More importantly, there was no hot water in the mornings, so if you want to shower later than 7:30 or 8 am - it will be cool water at best. When we told this to the front desk - their reply was - yes, the hotel is full, you’ll need to shower in the evening. The room was strangely decorated as well, which just added to the oddity of it all.

We were not greeted warmly at all - the receptionist was unfriendly and very abrupt in his manner. The check in process was slow, manual and antiquated and overall we were not made to feel welcome.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hirschen. Right in the heart of Zurich, you can walk anywhere and even walk from the Train Station (Zurich HB) to the hotel. There are so many restaurants and shopping around the hotel. The staff was always so kind and very welcoming. The highlight of this place was the cute dogs always around reception. Chloe and Hector really made our stay at Hotel Hirschen so much more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

So VERY conveniently located. The building which was 600 years old was full of history! It even had a well in the cellar that was still functioning! But even more so Sylvia (the owner) and her son Lorenzo were so welcoming and accommodating. Thank you so much for all you did to make our stay in Zurich wonderful!

I can stay anywhere but when it’s horrible customer service nothing is worth it. The front desk staff was rude. She began debating with me about everything, when I asked if I could use my drivers license versus visa. She told me she could wait all night for me to get it and that it was what I used to get in the country. I was fully aware that I used it, terrible when checking in and very condescending. And you have to carry your luggage up and down a flight of stairs. My bag was heavy and I was struggling and no one came to help until I began dragging it and they only wanted to help because he said it was ruining the stairs. Shower curtain was old and grimy and shower doesn’t lip up for the water to stay in so the floor got completely wet.

The hotel is an easy walk from the main train station. While the room is a bit small, it was immaculate and had great WiFi, a good breakfast (included) and the staff were very friendly. Nice neighborhood for dining and drinks. All in all a good 'home away from home' in Zürich!

Great location in the square and very close to many cool spots. Old Town has charm, and is a short walk (5 mins) to the new town area. If you have a car, parking is a bit challenging, but fairly close by.

The hotel is at the very center of a lovely plaza and street. There is plenty of restaurants and super cute shops. The hotel is very old but nicely decorated with a pretty breakfast room. There are fabulous restaurants on site including a special wine cellar.

Hotel is reasonably priced and in an excellent location for a visit to Zurich. Breakfast served is excellent with fresh pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt and boiled eggs cooked to order. Facilities are clean and staff is accommodating. Rooms and bathrooms are small as to be expected in an historic facility. They are sparse with little decoration, adequate beds and very small televisions located far across the room. Check-in requires navigating a flight of stairs, but an elevator is available up from there. Overall a good choice and value for a visit to the heart of Zurich

very centrally situated a few minutes walk from the main railway station.surrounded by many bars and restaurants.the hotel itself...breakfast I rank "0"..I'll give you a clue:the first breakfast ..the reception clerk tells me:-only 4 people having breakfast so the display is minimal..minimal is a huge word to describe.terrible more suitable.even coffee..the clerk made me coffee from a room style coffeemaker.(not even in the dining room) hotwater(room) in the shower and sink suddenly goes icecold and comes and goes..unpleasant and infuriating especially in the cold weather.roomrate very expensive for what the hotel offers.

super zentral gelegen, 5 Minuten vom Bahnhof entfernt, 10 Minuten vom See. direkt im Zentrum der Altstadt mit Restaurants und Ausgehmöglichkeit. Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer könnte renoviert werden. Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichhaltig.

This is a really lovely, simple hotel, in the heart of Zürich's old town. It took me about 10 minutes to walk there from the main station. The room was perfectly clean, and comfortable. I booked a small room, which had an en-suite, double bed, wardrobe and table and chairs, but I can't comment on the larger rooms and suites. Breakfast was simple, but nice. Pastries, bread, some muesli (of course), fruit, yoghurt, salami, cheese, and eggs you could boil up in their little machine. What more do you really need? (obviously there was coffee and tea too) I've stayed in 3 Hotels in Zürich now, and this is the one I'll be using again, as it has the right balance between price and comfort. The staff are lovely and helpful.

Hotel in an excellent location and amazingly friendly staff. Room was smaller than Expedia pictures but had a lovely view over a courtyard. Bathroom small and breakfast basic but adequate. Waterpressure in shower fluctuates affecting hot and cold water so maybe not ideal for kids. Despite a few flaws the hotel is very good value and had some very nice touches. Ideal location and super friendly staff make this hotel.

Hotel bien situado pero con un servicio de desayuno extremadamente pobre. La habitación es pequeña y sobre todo el baño, muy pequeño y muy incomodo. Habitaciones muy ruidosas tanto del exterior como el ruido de las habitaciones contiguas.

Staff is very kind. Close to everything. Nice roof top bar area peaceful and wine cellar bar. No fan or AC super hot. Beds not super comfortable, but staff and area great. For super hot summer months maybe not best choice but otherwise great place!!

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Nice spot in an active part of historic Zurich. Easy access to the train station and restaurants. Enjoyed the wine cellar one evening. Took a cab here from airport. Walked to a nearby port for a lake cruise that we could get on and off to visit the Lindt museum. Then took a train ride to Chur.

Hotel in zona centralissima, in pieno centro storico, molto bello e caratteristico. Certamente non moderno, ma sicuramente ambiente più familiare e accogliente. Personale alla reception sempre molto gentile e cordiale. Camere semplici, un po’ datate forse, ma confortevoli, con letto comodo. Bagno un po’ striminzito, più che altro lavandino piccolo piccolo e doccia ancora con la tenda.. bagno sicuramente migliorabile, con lavandino anche solo leggermente più grande e un box doccia e soffione nuovo. Colazione semplice, con soliti affettati e formaggi tipo tedesco, pane, burro e marmellata e qualche brioche di dolce. Non molta varietà, ma il pane con burro e marmellata (di ottima qualità) basta e avanza. Tutto sommato soggiorno buono ad un prezzo mediamente basso per Zurigo.

The hotel is delightful. It’s in a terrific central location, a short walk from the train station and v close to trams, the river, lake and shops. The area has a huge variety of restaurants and if you explore the side streets there are many quirky original shops. The rooms are minimalist and clean with scandi type decor. The breakfast is good with a choice of cereals as well as cold cuts cheese, fruit and a coffee machine that makes very good coffee. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend and we will be back

Hotel was very basic. The breakfast was mediocre and not a lot of variety. However, the girl that was serving breakfast was awesome. The room was clean however it was small and value for the money was not there. That was not that comfortable with no AC, which is common in the area however the front desk did allow us to keep our bags after checkout while we wandered it around the city. History of the hotel was very cool. Wish they would’ve had that written down somewhere overall would stay again in a pinch.
