What a beautiful hotel! I did not expect this having stayed in other Best Western Hotels. The staff was super kind and the property is just beautiful with its lush garden and the beautiful poolside. Loved the food in the restaurant too and the staff was very accomodating with our special nutritional requests. We only had one challenge with the express breakfast (literally three pieces of bread) on the day of check out. We had informed the reception the day ahead but the chef seemed to be upset and not want food to be taken away. Maybe a misunderstanding but maybe worth looking into how the hotel wants to communicate this offering. Other than that we'd definitely recommend and be back. Thank you for looking after us so well!

This property is so beautiful & the staff is warm & welcoming. Free, on-site, self parking is so convenient. The rooms are clean & spacious. The restaurant is superb. Pool area is beautiful. We loved our stay here!

The pool and outdoor areas are stunning. Our room was very small and quite outdated. You can tell they have been making upgrades and modernising the hotel but our room just felt a bit old still and in need of renovation. The bed was clean and comfortable. The food was ok but massively overpriced, as was breakfast. It is a ok hotel but believe it was too expensive for what it was.

This is a beautiful retreat to get away from it all. There is almost nothing in the surrounding area, so people seemed to either stay fully at the relaxing resort, or head on ~30min to the Verdon gorge. The roads are VERY windy and narrow, so be prepared for some careful driving in the area. The pool and garden areas were lovely and we enjoyed relaxing with cocktails and books both day and night. Both our dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious with lots of options and fabulous service. Parking was easy and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed our one night stay very much!

Gardens are absolutely stunning, heated swimming pool and tennis court available. There is a resident cat which made our stay even better, he's very sweet. Rooms were quaint, air con didn't quite work and the drinks were expsiv(€6 for a Coca Cola) but overall, amazing. I hope to return one day.

It's a beautiful place and it created a pleasant atmosphere. It's seems they are lacking workers.The pool wasn't clean, it was full of leaves. Our bathroom was not so clean . The hotel has potential but they need some adjustment.

We didn't get the room type we paid for, the room was tiny and worn down, didn't look like a 4* hotel, more a 2* hotel max judging on the room. The only reason why this scores better is the pool. The tennis court reservations are completely messed up, courts were double-booked 2 out of 4 times we (and others) booked - and by the way had planned our day to come back and play tennis. You don't get value for money here compared to other hotels on our vacation in better locations, more helpful staff and better (much) rooms. The room smelled of sewer almost all the time and staff knew immediate, so couldn't be a new problem, and the "solution" was air refresher to being able to handle the smell. That is not fixing the root cause but just a plaster on the wound. This is simply just unacceptable. We were very amazed. Neither in absolute terms compared to the price would I recommend this hotel, and absolutely not in relative terms to what the nightly price should be in France/Italy - even for better and more touristed locations than here. Almost forgot to mention that the internet didn't work in 2 out of 4 days. Again, staff knew but took several days to fix. Not okay for this class hotel (apparently).

Service impeccable pour l'hôtel, beaucoup moins pour le restaurant. Le bastion sympa mais beaucoup de fourmis. Les équipements du jardin a nettoyer régulièrement car en letat cela ne donne pas envie. Restaurant : les prix chers ne sont pas bien justifiés par rapport à la qualite des plats. Limite pas tres généreux. Le cadre est superbe

Beautiful hotel. My wife and I had a wonderful 5 day stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds of the hotel are really nice. There is a wonderful restaurant on the premises, too. The room was a bit small, but nice and clean. I highly recommend.

Tout! La gentillesse de l’accueil, la bastide elle-même , les salons, la chambre (son confort, la salle de bains), le formidable petit-déjeuner, le formidable dîner …une belle découverte !

We didn't get the room type we paid for, the room was tiny and worn down, didn't look like a 4* hotel, more a 2* hotel max judging on the room. The only reason why this scores better is the pool. The tennis court reservations are completely messed up, courts were double-booked 2 out of 4 times we (and others) booked - and by the way had planned our day to come back and play tennis. You don't get value for money here compared to other hotels on our vacation in better locations, more helpful staff and better (much) rooms. The room smelled of sewer almost all the time and staff knew immediate, so couldn't be a new problem, and the "solution" was air refresher to being able to handle the smell. That is not fixing the root cause but just a plaster on the wound. This is simply just unacceptable. We were very amazed. Neither in absolute terms compared to the price would I recommend this hotel, and absolutely not in relative terms to what the nightly price should be in France/Italy - even for better and more touristed locations than here. Almost forgot to mention that the internet didn't work in 2 out of 4 days. Again, staff knew but took several days to fix. Not okay for this class hotel (apparently).

Was a superb stay- all of the staff front desk and restaurant (Cecil!) was so welcoming, professional and made us feel at home. Dinner was delicious and room was super. Very recommended!

What a beautiful hotel! I did not expect this having stayed in other Best Western Hotels. The staff was super kind and the property is just beautiful with its lush garden and the beautiful poolside. Loved the food in the restaurant too and the staff was very accomodating with our special nutritional requests. We only had one challenge with the express breakfast (literally three pieces of bread) on the day of check out. We had informed the reception the day ahead but the chef seemed to be upset and not want food to be taken away. Maybe a misunderstanding but maybe worth looking into how the hotel wants to communicate this offering. Other than that we'd definitely recommend and be back. Thank you for looking after us so well!

Inexperienced receptionist when checking in. Overpriced for what is was. Bed and duvet was lumpy. Poor beds for the kids. Une attitude commerciale au dessous de tout… Habitant Lyon, j’avais réservé une chambre fin octobre (non annulable)…pour me rendre à Lorgues chez Bruno (restaurant 1 étoile) afin de fêter l’anniversaire de mon compagnon. Or, à cette date, une vigilance orange avec un épisode Cévenol violent était annoncé dans ce département et les instances météorologiques préconisaient de ne pas se déplacer dans les zones concernés car cela pouvait être dangereux…et nous avions plus de 4 heures de route pour nous rendre sur place !!! Craignant, des crues importantes comme celles que nous avions subies dans la région lyonnaise la semaine précédente (inondations de villes, voitures emportées par les crues, morts etc…), j’ai préféré appeler l’hôtel afin que nous puissions reporter notre séjour à une date ultérieure avec majoration de prix si nécessaire… Le directeur de la Bastide du Calalou n’a rien voulu entendre et à maintenu la réservation… L’attitude de ce directeur,pour cette catégorie d’établissement est inacceptable, et irresponsable (en raison des crues annoncées) J’ai fait appel à Hôtels.com qui n’ont pu rien faire non plus et n’ont pas compris l’inflexibilité de cet hôtelier… Pour info, ce week-end là, il y a eu 1 mort dans le Var en raison des intempéries ! PS: le restaurant Chez Bruno (1 étoile Michelin) à quant à lui bien compris mon annulation et l’a même encouragé m’indiquant que des routes étaient d’ores et déjà bloquées à la circulation !

Beautiful hotel. My wife and I had a wonderful 5 day stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds of the hotel are really nice. There is a wonderful restaurant on the premises, too. The room was a bit small, but nice and clean. I highly recommend.

This hotel setting reminded us of a Poirot setting. It was elegant, peaceful and the staff were very nice. We only stayed one night and did not get to enjoy dinner but the restaurant looked quite beautiful. Breakfast was quite a spread with the most delicious options. This hotel is about 35 minutes to Gorges du Verdon and a few more minutes to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie which are both a must see!

This is a beautiful retreat to get away from it all. There is almost nothing in the surrounding area, so people seemed to either stay fully at the relaxing resort, or head on ~30min to the Verdon gorge. The roads are VERY windy and narrow, so be prepared for some careful driving in the area. The pool and garden areas were lovely and we enjoyed relaxing with cocktails and books both day and night. Both our dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious with lots of options and fabulous service. Parking was easy and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed our one night stay very much!

Hotel seats on foothill of a beautiful village Moissac-Bellevue. The restaurants feed us excellent meals, the wonderful local cuisine for dinner and a full great breakfast buffet were so convenient to starting a day and finishing up with a delicious meal in high notes! We love this stylish hotel and highly recommended for travelers who come to this part of France!!

La Bastide du Calamou is a tranquil haven in the lovely hills of Provence. The location is idyllic, the swimming pool wonderful, the staff attentive and helpful and the food outstanding. The pool and outdoor areas are stunning. Our room was very small and quite outdated. You can tell they have been making upgrades and modernising the hotel but our room just felt a bit old still and in need of renovation. The bed was clean and comfortable. The food was ok but massively overpriced, as was breakfast. It is a ok hotel but believe it was too expensive for what it was.

We did not know what to expect but we’re very happy and delighted with the quality of the property. It’s a gorgeous setting. Excellent facilities with tennis court and spa. Outdoor pool area was very clean and tidy with lots of sun loungers under the shade. There is a fantastic waiter service serving drinks and fruit platters to the poolside although the little call buzzer wasn’t working when we stayed. The staff are very helpful and work very hard but it can feel like no one works here at times as they stay in the background. The food was really good and they have a great wine selection. We dined twice in the restaurant which was bustling and had a great atmosphere. Glad we booked at table. We didn’t opt for breakfast every morning instead found little Boulangeries for croissants and coffees which is all we needed. We had the junior suite on the first floor which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children as there was a changing area and large bathroom with walk in shower and bath and a separate toilet. Loads of places to put clothes. The little village nearby is very small and has no shops or bars except one restaurant which doesn’t open for breakfasts or morning coffees.

The staff are very helpful and work very hard but it can feel like no one works here at times as they stay in the background. The food was really good and they have a great wine selection. We dined twice in the restaurant which was bustling and had a great atmosphere. Glad we booked at table. We didn’t opt for breakfast every morning instead found little Boulangeries for croissants and coffees which is all we needed. We had the junior suite on the first floor which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children as there was a changing area and large bathroom with walk in shower and bath and a separate toilet. Loads of places to put clothes. The little village nearby is very small and has no shops or bars except one restaurant which doesn’t open for breakfasts or morning coffees.
