OYO Hotel Olympia - Tumwater

This was a newly reopened, renovated hotel and I think we were the first guests in the room we were given. We didn't realize at firat that the fridge wasn't working when we put my daughter's insulin in it upon arrival. The desk clerk was kind enough to move the insulin to a fridge they had once we realixwd there was no cord on the fridge. The beds and pillows were very comfortable! Everything was beautiful. That said, the pool was out of order and the breakfast was all carbs and no protein. We still enjoyed our stay very mych.

They should have updated their amenities listed online as closed because the pool was closed. No continental breakfast. No lobby coffee. These are what i look for when i get a motel. I feel cheated from a service i paid for. I have kids they like to swim. So never again at OYO

Very quiet and fantastic big parking lot

Everything was great, the location, easy parking, easy access to the freeway, clean, modern, very comfortable bed. The only negative is the breakfast options, wasn’t good compared to other hotels.

Stay was fine. Breakfast would have been better with hot breakfast. Most of the staff were amazing. One of the front desk ladies was extremely rude. Pool was broken but was able to use the pool next door! Room was clean and beds were very comfortable

Several things didnt work. Heater/ac. Fireplace. Toilet moved. Thread bare curtains. No breakfast, pool, hot tub. Obviously going through renovations in the room, but not at all finished.

Pool closed too early. Nice breakfast but didn't supply many food items when 1/2 hour left for breakfast period.

This hotel was recently updated. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Checked in and non smoking room smelled of both cigarettes and pot. Then went into the bathroom where used towels and soap were still there showing that it hadn’t been cleaned. Asked for another room which the did accommodate but it took us over an hour to have that room cleaned. The staff were very apologetic about it all but it was a long travel day and we wanted to rest. Then she apologized again because the tv wasn’t working. My husband fixed the tv himself. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the room, although it was large and roomy, it needed an update badly.

Property looks very run down, sink had stains, carpet had stains, we found two bug in the bed. It was okay for the price and only one night stay...but next time i'd be happy to pay some extra to stay somewhere else.

Ive never had this happen in a hotel before. I tried to talk with the front desk and suggested that they thoroughly clean the room prior to issuing it to anyone else. They didn't seem interested in talking with me. What I can only assume was the manager, sat in her office with the door open, glancing up occasionally, but refusing to engage in conversation. Then I went out to find that my car had been hit by someone's vehicle door leaving significant damage to my mirror. I went back in to ask if they had a camera, but was told they had no cameras recording, and again were dismissive. The room was comfortable and spacious, but the Manager this morning left much to be desired. Check the beds thoroughly before you get in them.

Disgustingly dirty, unkept. Staff was unfriendly, rude. Building in disrepair, trash in the stairwell. Horrible stay!!!

It was very clean and when your traveling that is very important.

A good solid 3 stars. Average cleanliness. There was an unidentified odor, mold? Not sure. The coffee maker spit mold out. Mold in the water lines of the appliance. The sheets were clean, the beds modestly comfortable. All in all not too bad and the quality of the hospitality was to be expected for that price point.

This is a great value for the money you pay. My room was huge, clean and nice. The only issue is that apparently your neighbor rooms can hear if you have the tv a bit loud, but I guess this is normal in America.

Overall, nice facility with comfy beds. However, the interior doors into the rooms close very loudly. It is disruptive when people enter and exit their rooms.

TV wasn’t working

Property is near Highway so going in and out is easy. But the rooms are not fully isolated from road noise. Service is very delayed. I asked for body lotion that was missing. Took them hours. Even hour+ after reception confirmed they are on their way. Free breakfast is basic: plain bagels, drip coffee, juice, milk, cereals and yo plait yogurt. But the set up was clean and efficient, they have a small sit-in area or you can take it to your room.

Staff was friendly, super nice gentleman. The room was very spacious the bed was comfortable. The room was all renovated and clean. Nice place to stay overnight.

WiFi is not stable. Frequently disconnected.

Clean and quiet, and not too expensive, at least when I stayed there. If I have one complaint it’s that the only jelly they had at breakfast was grape, but hotel breakfast always sucks anyway. Here’s what they nailed, and I don’t understand why every hotel in the world isn’t doing this yet — the TV has streaming services on it, so you can log into your own streaming accounts, watch your own stuff, and it automatically logs you off when you check out. Why on earth are there still places that don’t do this? Why am I still watching cable channels at other hotels? I cut the cord over 20 years ago, so when I stay in a hotel it’s like going back in time. But this place doesn’t do that, and I appreciate it so much, because while I usually just check in, sleep, and get back on the road, this was one of those trips where I had to sit around the room for awhile. I’d prefer a little softer bed and a big fuzzy blanket. I like the pillows though. Signage is a bit lacking — if you drive in on the back side of the building, which is what your GPS is probably going to have you do, you are likely not to see any signs and you’ll end up trying to check into the Holiday Inn. The guy there told me it happens a lot. Overall, a good experience. I don’t know why I’d need to stay in Olympia again, but if I do, I’ll try to stay here.

Comfortable beds and spacious room!!

I got there and they had over sold rooms and turned me away. I was with my son and couldn’t find any hotels within my price range. We ended up staying in Olympia for $214. A complete disappointment. I need my refund.

Front desk staff was really nice. Gave us the room at the end of the hall when he saw our luggage (we got in and out easier and could run back out to the car as needed). Beds were comfy, shower was great, shampoo made me smell nice. Close to Farelli's, Fred Meyer, that cute Royal Bean coffee shack (hi, Sally!). It was great!

I arrived around 1030 pm to the property. Tried to check in and was informed i didnt have a reservation and was getting the feeling from her was just leave cause i dont have any open rooms. But had to keep insisting that i had a one and it was weird i received a email at 830 saying how was my check in. I told her the money was out of my account. After over thirty minutes she found out. She ussed my reservation and checked someone else in under it. Got my things to the room and my friend into the room. I left cause i needed to square up her things she has been honeless for nine months. I made it back at 1030nin the morning. Told the cleaning person that i needed a little cause i just got back and needed to shower and pack. She came back every ten minutes harrassing me. Then while checking out the front desk was in arguement with another guest. Room had useed soap on the coubter and trash in the can. Look like it was being used .

Staff was amazing people were friendly they were great about switching my rooms to issue me that suited my family as self better.

Unfortunately, Expedia booked a room when none were available. We drove an hour and a half from our home on the WA coast in anticipation of the tsunami from the 8.8 Russian earthquake. We arrived at midnight to find no room available. Nonetheless, the night clerk let us use their facilities to reach out to Expedia to arrange another room. He was so kind and helpful, I would want to stay at Spark next time I need to spend a night inland. Kudos to this property for such pleasant and accommodating staff on a stressful night!

The staff, specifically Roland, was kind, professional, helpful, respectful, professional, and - always present. The cleanliness of the rooms and bedding was outstanding, especially considering it's a dog friendly facility. Seems like Hilton could support the facility a little more (pool was out of order both times over stayed over 2 year timespan). Amenities and not really there, boiled egg instant oats for breakfast. Good coffee. Tons of food options within a mile. Roland went above and beyond, finding us rooms, and provided guidance when our Expedia booking failed after we had to delay our trip one day (purchased the high end converge so no cost but we showed up and Expedia had no rooms booked for that night).

The breakfast was really bad, very few vegetarian options. Also the service was poor.

Close to everything but felt secluded and quiet

Nice and clean, modern, but strange location for a hotel. Need to drive to get anywhere, but lots of restaurants within 10 drive.

The parking lot was host to questionable characters hanging around. Hallway lighting is inadequate. The hotel is in overall poor condition. The one bright light was the staff. They were welcoming and helpful. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is relatively new and in good condition, but a bit removed from Olympia (4 to 5 miles). Nothing within walking distance. We stayed 3 nights in a spacious room and were comfortable. Breakfast was average, but overall, a nice place to stay.

The hotel was lovely! Clean, comfortable, and safe. It’s a pretty new hotel. The location was beautiful with all the trees surrounding the hotel. Only problem is that aren’t any restaurants walking distance if you wanted a quick bite. The breakfast is more like a continental breakfast. Hardly anything was left as we came down at the tail end.

Actually, really comfortable and quiet. The forest surrounding the property was nice and there is a free EV charging station by L&I next door! Shhh…our secret.

out in the boonies...no amenities close

It was very basic, breakfast was quite limited. Bagels, toaster, pre packaged muffins, hard boiled eggs weren’t good. Milk was not cold.

This place was disgusting. Run down and drug addicts hanging all over the property. Our room was dirty, bed sheets on the floor and bathroom dirty with things strewn about. If you care about yourself don't stay here.

Stain on rug. Electric plug fell out of receptacle. No breakfast provided. Towel rack fell apart. Drab and dingy. They overcharged me (I will dispute the charge.)

When we arrived the piece was not ready we had to wait. Like. Since we had a married couple, we asked to stop by anyway because we needed the room and the bathroom was dirty. In the morning at breakfast it was 9 o'clock and there were not many things left and neither to replace

Beds were comfortable and staff was pleasant. Amenities were good. Parking was ample and it was right off the highway. Breakfast was lacklustre. Bagels, kids cereals, boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt. Even having a loaf of sliced bread for those who just want a slice of toast would be helpful. Would also be great to have cups (glasses and coffee cups) in the room, but there was coffee 24/7 in the lobby.
