Jardín de los Monos

Don't pass this place up! Lettika, the owner, and Dama and Teddy, the staff, all did everything necessary to make us feel welcome and to make our stay(s) perfect in every way. We stayed three nights, then left to head south. Our room there didn't work out, so we returned for another two nights. Both rooms we had were wonderful. Clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Dama has a flair for decorating using the towels and fresh flowers that made us feel like special guests and cooked delicious breakfasts to order. Teddy made delicious drinks to enjoy at the pool and gave us guided tours around the grounds to see the local sloths each day! Lettika oversaw every detail of our stay and offered great input about local places to eat and things to see. We hated to leave!

This is a cute little property off the beaten path. Lots of tico places to eat in the area but you need a car. We don’t recommend the seafood place across the highway though. Breakfast was amazing, especially the homemade bread and condiments. The laminated note in the room about not getting sand in the beach towels was a little odd!

Wir haben bei Lettika und Teddy eine wunderbare Zeit gehabt. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Der Strand ist in unmittelbarer Nähe und bietet wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge. Unser Zimmer war klasse, mit einer großen Terrasse, alles sehr sauber, das Bett bequem, das Bad großzügig, alles neuwertig. Restaurants sind fußläufig erreichbar. Von hier aus lassen sich viele Ausflüge unternehmen (Manuel Antonio, Uvita, Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Hacienda Barú, Cataratas Nauyaca, etc.). Wir haben hier mehr Tiere gesehen als in den Nationalparks. Eine absolute Empfehlung. Wir waren 3 Nächte zu Gast und würden beim nächsten Mal einen längeren Aufenthalt einplanen.

Heise (sp?) and Lattika were the perfect hosts. Lattika made sure that everything we needed was taken care of . She was also very knowledgable about the various native animals who live in the neighborhood (how she could spot sloths is a mystery to me ). Breakfast was amazing !

We enjoyed our stay at Jardin over Christmas. The room was perfectly sized for two people. We appreciated the air conditioning at night and the bed was comfortable. Plus, how can you go wrong when there are sloths and monkeys near you! The breakfast is outstanding! Don't miss it. We had activities planned each day while we stayed and it was a great location to keep driving each day to a reasonable amount of time. We went diving/snorkeling in Uvita, hiking in Manuel Antonio, and white water rafting with Rafiki Lodge. There were a lot of really great restaurants near by too. The staff was wonderful! If you are looking for a quiet area to stay in, search no further!
