14 Beachwood East

This property was awesome for our first family vacation with our children & our grandchildren - two 4 year olds, one 2 yr old & a 1 yr old. Having the pool on property was so very convenient & a great supplement to the beach which was a convenient walk of about a block. The set up of the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, pool, etc. were very conducive for the families & their children. The layout allowed for the adults to enjoy time together after the kids were in bed without disturbing them from sleeping. Just a great all-around experience!

Door to porch was barely movable. Rooms weren’t like pictures showed Kitchen was well stocked. Liked the double sinks in bathrooms.

The house was very nice and all my family could ask for during our time at Wild Dunes. It was everything that it was advertised to be and as shown in the photos. I appreciate the host going the extra mile to find a place to leave my boat. One thing to remember is to make reservations at the marina well in advance to park your boat. Thanks to the owner for sharing this house to benefit others. I feel the review on October 31 was very unfair and misleading.

We rarely have a bad stay with VRBO properties but if I could give 0 stars I would for this house. When you spend this amount of hard earned money(north of 10K) you expect to have a functioning house that has been maintained. This was NOT the case with this property. Upon check in the door code provided didn't work but they were quick to send one that did work so not a big issue, however, below is a list of items we encountered. 1. House was very misrepresented by pics taken. It states 6 BR's but is really only 4. The 5th & 6th BR's were made from knee walls on other side of closet. They may have measured 5' x 8'. 2. There were 2 sliding glass doors but only one was functional. There was a sign stating the one door wasnt operating properly but you could tell the sign had been up quite some time. When you have 14 people staying in a house it makes using 1 door pretty inconvenient. 3. Washing machine sounded like a plane taking off. It was the loudest noise I have ever heard from a washing machine. 4. In the bunk bed room there is a sign on the wall under window in listing pics. Kind of an odd place for a sign I thought and when we checked in I saw why. There was a hole in the wall about the size of a baseball which I could stick my hand right through. There were also 2 other smaller holes. 5. Kitchen island was literally falling apart. The drawers would slide straight through and towel bar was hanging straight down as one side came undone. 6. We had a decent rain one night and in one of the upstairs BR my son and DIL said water began sripping on them in middle of the night. Again, this wasnt first time it had happened as there were brown circles on the ceiling. Overall, the house was very poorly maintained and dirty and Im sure an eye sore to the beautiful homes surrounding it. The pool was nice as we had 3 grand kids with us and they had a great time playing in it and the view from deck and LR is very good as well. Honestly, that is all I can say positive about this house. If you only value an ocean view then your OK but if you value suitable accommodations as well then STAY AWAY. I only hope someone else doesnt spend their hard earned money on this very poorly maintained, misrepresented house.

The pool ended up being everyone in our group's favorite thing about our stay! It is a lot nicer than it looks in the pictures with lots of green landscaping all around, and you cannot see it from the beach. Also it has a deep end! The house is on a perfect stretch of the beach, away from the many condos in both directions, so there were never many people around us on the beach all week. Everything in the house was very clean, well-kept, and in working order (except they really do need to do something about the sliding doors that are so hard to open and close). We were disappointed to see the late check-in time of "from 4-6pm," but at 2pm, we got a text that the house was ready! The rental company could not have been nicer or more professional or more accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
