The hotel has a tiny reception. When we arrived he told us there will be a wait time of 4 hours before getting a room. After I told him I’m ready to pay to get the room now, he made a room available within 20 min. The room while it was “cleaned” was not really clean as the hotel has issues of smell and humidity due tu the swimming pool inside the suite. The hotel reception behavior was pathetic! We had need up checking out even if we paid for 2 days (no money returned or even offered). I would not recommend staying there.

We had a lovely 5 days at the Conch. It is a 10 minute tuktuk ride into Whitetown in Pondicherry, so very accessible but a little quieter which we preferred. The rooms are clean and spacious with an amazing private pool (can be a bit chilly when you jump in!). We had several meals whilst staying and the food was overall incredible - it’s homemade and full of flavour with plenty of variety. We’d recommend the Conch to anyone looking to visit Pondicherry.
