This place is absolutely a hidden gem. It is close enough to town to walk anywhere. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of nice pillows. Hotel sized refrigerator with separate freezer space was nice. The room had some small packaged snacks and 2 bottles of water when we arrived. There is a nice small balcony with 2 chairs that faces the creek that runs behind the hotel. We spent our evenings relaxing there each day after site seeing and hiking. Nice sized room. One (small) drawback, no clothes rack or hangers. Lots of drawer space but if something needs hung up you have to use the back of a chair. No problem for us though. Ironing board and iron provided and hairdryer and soap, shampoo, etc. Building is exactly as pictured on website. 4 floors of rooms with stairways and an elevator that works well. Clean, comfortable, no frills, but nice. We will definitely stay here again. Don't let the low price deter you.

I was skeptical about booking this location. I'm so glad we continued to stay bc I almost cancelled despite the cancellation fee. It was only for one night so we stayed. The pillows were small and I laughed and still laugh today about them. We had just settled in for the night and heard a loud noise and discovered it was a bear in the creek. He didn't bother us but it was nice to see. We saw a raccoon, a squirrel, possum and a bear all in that creek behind our balcony. We will definitely stay again. It was definitely not boujee but all the essentials were there and food was close by..and it was affordable. Parking lot is small. But no problems to big to handle. We will be back.

The creek behind the property was peaceful and beautiful. Our rooms were very clean. But, the water when showering didn’t stay warm/hot long at all. My family rented 3 rooms total and everyone had the same complaint. I also didn’t like that staff wasn’t available 24 hours they left in the evening. While we were there the elevator broke once, the ice machine was out of service, and the laundry room wasn’t available either. Overall, if your just looking for a clean place to sleep it’s the place for you.

You will see bears! I expected to see a few but shortly after checking in they were right there on the other side of my balcony. I love how the hotel sits on the rivers and you can hear the choppy waters. Walking distance from Anakeesta without all the busy traffic and free parking. Very clean and staff was friendly.

Get what you pay for - I did like the peaceful rolling creek when setting on your room porch. Only thing is no dividers between balconies of your next store neighbor

We were only booked for one night and glad for it. The one staff person we met was nice and check in went smoothly. The rooms had balconies with a beautiful view of the creek running behind the hotel. The location is good, within walking distance to the attractions. The cleanliness of the room was disappointing. One of the beds did not look like the sheets had been changed from the last guest. There was a strong, unpleasant chemical smell in the room and there was no deadbolt on the door. The lighting inside the room was poor. The ice machine was out of order. We would not stay there again.

The hotel's bathroom had been recently remodeled and was nice. The view of the creek was lovely. The rest of the room was clean and fine. The air conditioner was a little loud and sounded like it needed maintenance, and the room was a bit dark. I would have liked choices between soft and firm pillows. There were 3 soft pillows on each bed. 4 total, with 2 soft and 2 firm would be better. There is also a place where water pools next to the elevator, which makes rolling suitcases to the elevator problematic. In general, a great deal for what you get in this area.

The room was dirty. The bathroom vent cover was so dirty that moldy dust strands were hanging out. The room smelled so bad. Everything had to be washed and deep cleaned once we got home. The carpet was disgusting. It was close to downtown Gatlinburg, so it had that going for it.

Check in was great and gentleman was very nice and informative. Room much have been just cleaned as it was very strong smelling. The floor was not cleaned. Took a shower and by time I walked to bed feet were already dirty. Spider webs with spider in corner of bathroom. Bed comfortable. Patio nice with chairs. Quiet. Close to everything.

This property seemed like it was cheaply brought back to life. The rooms themselves aren’t horrible but the location surroundings need some serious TCL, overgrown trees, and super dark. The room smelled cleaned so it seems as if they provided clean sheets and wiped the necessities. The worst part was the floors, seems as if they haven’t been cleaned in months. We accidentally spilled a water bottle and was provided an additional towel to clean it that was turned black in the process. As I cleaned the spilled water I began to notice the cob webs and all the dirt that’s been collecting on the floor, doors and sink. I myself tried to clean it and couldn’t get off the caked on dirt. A cool feature is the balcony I assume every room has over looking the river but the bugs and active spider webs were so bad we unfortunately couldn’t even enjoy it. From reading previous reviews you can tell they are actively trying to do better, this place has so much potential. We would return as a last resort but would not seek out this property as a first or even second choice.

The room had dirty floors, dead bugs on the curtains the chair is the room had a large stain on the seat cushion. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and it was a non smoking room. The towels smelled, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were tiles open. The vending machine was out of water and there was no complimentary water or options for water to drink. The sheets were not clean looking. Would not stay again for $160 a night this was terrible.

The room was very hot and must when we arrived. The floors needed to be moped, they were dirty so we didn't walk without shoes on. The balcony was very nice but also needed cleaning there were cobwebs in the rails everywhere and on the chairs. They need to uncover more electrial outlets you had to move coffee maker to bathroom sink area or across the room with the table to sit it on outlets had plates over them. They didn't replace coffee everyday. It was in a nice area very peaceful and walking distance to eating and shopping Needs a good cleaning.

The location is off setting and felt somewhat uncomfortable, also absolutely no hot water and water pressure was so bad you could not get a shower, we were there for 1 night only and had to wait until we got back home to shower. Room was very nice and the creek behind us was very relaxing but I would not stay there again.

There was no hot water in the shower. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. Bathroom had a cover plate on an electrical box and was missing a screw, so thebhole was stuffed withbtoilet paper.

Water pressure in shower stinks. Having long, thick hair, took forever to get shampoo/conditioner rinsed out. And temp of shower not very hot. Bathroom sink water got hotter than shower. A dirty washcloth from previous guest was on shower curtain rod behind curtain (maid missed) Other than that, for the price, you can't beat it. Nice location on creek. Easy walk to Gatlinburg strip. Clean enough. Staff friendly.

The beds were wonderfully comfortable. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the creek was very relaxing. The area is quiet, and the walls must be thick, so the rooms are quier also. The shower head was great, but there are no shelves to set soap or shampoo.The room was rather dark with only a small overhead light at the entrancee and two small wall lamps between the beds. The only mirror was over the batthroom sink. Our stay was great because we were not there very much; we just needed a good place to sleep, shower, and dress. We were there for the Gaither Fest. I do think the price was a bit too much!

Hotel was clean, staff was nice, at the price point it was a great place. I would definitely stay here again. The only bad thing I can say is bring your own pillow. The pillows on our bed were very small and flat.

Very clean room. Beds/pillows were not very comfortable and shower had zero pressure so it took forever to rinse shampoo out. No closet at all for clothes. Other than that, the room was nice for the price. It is a little bit of a walk up to the strip but not much of an issue.

The room was pretty dark as the only lights in the bed area were the two wall mounted lights between the beds. Asked for a floor lamp but they didn't have any. No hangars on the closet rack so unable to hang any of our clothes. The room was pretty plain. Was fine for a few days but won't return with so many options in the area. No privacy from the balcony as neighbors were right next door and could peer down directly onto our balcony.

Quick stay on our way back home. Had to get key replaced because it didnt work to get into the room right after we checked in. Front dest staff seemed irritated that i was bothering him. Lack of hospitality for sure. And after midnight there was an issue with someone being stuck in their room because their door malfunctioned. Police were there so we got woken up. And i recommended bringing your own pillows. Not bad for a one night stay but i wouldnt do more then that

Great place. Nice, clean & comfy. I will definitely stay here again. The beds are perfect & the balcony over the river with the sounds of water rushing over rocks was very pleasant. This place is well maintained & the staff is very helpful. Very close to the strip & a short drive to the mountains & pizza shops & a store just a short walk away. Very affordable too.

Had to wait 30 minutes to check in because there was no one in the office working. I was in the process of getting a refund online when the staff finally arrived. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Gave my room away even though I called ahead and gave my information as well as letting them know I’d check in late, then staff proceeded to be extremely unhelpful and un-accommodating. Still haven’t got a refund either.

Peaple above us were smoking on the balconey and ashes wre dropping onto our balconey.No clean towels were left the next day and the coffee was not replaced for the next morning.After about 5 o'clock there was no one in the office to ask for toweels or coffee.

I couldn't even check in because the front staff refused to work with my customer service agent to resolve an issue the hotel had created. I will never book with this hotel again. They refuse to help customers with an issue they created.

Staff was rude. Had to wait 20 minutes to check in because no one was at the reception desk. And they weren't even apologetic about them not being there. The only thing that was nice was the balcony overlooking the babbling brook.

We loved the view of the creek. It was enjoyable to sit on the balcony and listen to it. There's a light show at night too, which is neat. Our room was just fine, could use a bit of updating and more deep cleaning, but no complaints otherwise. We enjoyed that it was a little away from the busy downtown strip, but still very walkable. Very affordable for 3 nights in Gatlinburg, comparably.

The room was spotless, the entire property made it feel like you was at home. Every room has the stream in the back with a patio and chairs. Also within walking distance to everything. Very high possibility you will see a bear in the creek, they are friendly of course. We cant wait to book again.

The Bear Creek Inn was a great find for our visit to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park! Quiet and right next to a small creek. Our room had a balcony overlooking the creek, which was a great place to unwind after a day of hiking in the park. The staff was very friendly and super helpful during our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Gatlinburg. And check out the pizzaria next door!

The room was very clean. The building though older looked freshly painted. The surrounding area seemed a bit trashy which is not the fault of hotel. It was not near the main drag so we had to drive and pay to park. Loved the fast running creek outside our door.

Property was clean and we saw a bear twice during our visit! Located right near the trolley stop for easy access to downtown without having to deal with parking fees, or was close enough to easily walk also.

Pricing was good but definitely lacked some amenities and was further from the main strip than I wanted. The distance wasn't bad, but there was a huge hill to walk up to get to the room and one to leave as well which made walking everywhere taxing. I wouldn't recommend for ppl with any physical limitations if they want to walk around town. There's no where to hang clothes, no where to set up your laptop, sink leaked, shower was scalding or freezing, vending machine was so limited we didn't use it and the ice machine was broken. The person at the front desk was nice and the room served it's purpose, but with 20,000 to 30,000 steps a day I will stay somewhere closer to everything next time with a few more amenities to make staying in more enjoyable. But again- can't beat the price and the creek view was nice. If you're young and on a budget- go for it!

Loved the location just outside of town and along the river. The hotel itself is old and very basic. The towels were threadbare and there were stains on the comforter and single chair in the room. The fridge was old and loud. Overall a good stay, but the facility could definitely stand some investments.

I loved the balcony and the sound of the river, I even saw bears right underneath my balcony which was very cool. The room itself was decent the only issue was the mattresses were truly awful and should have been replaced 10 years ago, I could not stay again because of that, I got the worst sleep here.
