Palazzo Santa Maria was excellent - the room had everything you could need, and was a good size. Breakfast was tasty and filling. The owner/host, Nicolas, was very welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure we were looked after.

Palazzo Santa Maria exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. A huge part of what makes this place so special is Nicholas. He is an outstanding host and a remarkably kind, genuine person who goes above and beyond for his guests. His local insights, hospitality, and care made a world of difference.

Notre hôte, Nicolas, a été charmant et il est parfaitement francophone. Il est venu nous accueillir au port pour nous emmener à son hôtel en voiture (valises...). Les jours suivants il nous a donné des conseils et a pris le temps de discuter avec nous. Le chambre est magnifique tout comme la salle de bain. Le matin, le petit déjeuner était aussi excellent. Que dire du cadre ? L'hôtel est magnifique avec une restauration de haut niveau d'une demeure ancienne d'un riche marchant du 19ème siècle car Ermoúpolis était alors le centre économique de la Grèce. La ville est superbe avec bien des ballades à faire et je pense qu'y rester au moins 3 jours permet de voir beaucoup de chose, y compris à l'extérieur de la ville. Nous sommes allés à pied jusqu'au port de Kini par les sentiers (moins de 15 kilomètres aller-retour). En résumé : je recommande à tous les francophones de découvrir Syros et de résider au Palazzo Santa Maria pour la qualité de l'hébergement et l'accueil de Nicolas Roussos et de son équipe ! N'allez pas ailleurs !

I can’t begin to describe how perfect our stay was. Truly the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. The hospitality is unmatched, from being picked up by the owner, Nicholas, at the port to our toiletries being perfectly organized on a tray when we came back to our room after a long day out. It was such a tastefully luxurious experience. I’m beyond impressed with the job Nicholas has done and cannot wait to visit again in the future.

An incredible stay in Syros, made all the more memorable due to Nicolas and his hosting skills. An absolutely stunning palazzo, extremely clean with so much attention to detail, your eye is constantly captivated! I stayed in the Demetrius Vikelas room (more like a suite) which was impeccably clean with the most stunning of views overlooking the city. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious with lots of locally sourced food. Nicolas has gone out of his way to assist me with dinner reservations during this busy period, details of events with specific timings, making suggestions to enhance my trip, even offering to take me to St George's Church up on the hill; one really could not ask for more! If you travel to Syros, Palazzo Santa Maria is a MUST! I would recommend this hotel to any traveller and only wish my stay was longer!
