Palazzo Santa Maria - Historic Hotels of Europe

An incredible stay in Syros, made all the more memorable due to Nicolas and his hosting skills. An absolutely stunning palazzo, extremely clean with so much attention to detail, your eye is constantly captivated! I stayed in the Demetrius Vikelas room (more like a suite) which was impeccably clean with the most stunning of views overlooking the city. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious with lots of locally sourced food. Nicolas has gone out of his way to assist me with dinner reservations during this busy period, details of events with specific timings, making suggestions to enhance my trip, even offering to take me to St George's Church up on the hill; one really could not ask for more! If you travel to Syros, Palazzo Santa Maria is a MUST! I would recommend this hotel to any traveller and only wish my stay was longer!

Our stay in Syros was truly wonderful. The owner was warm, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable—he gave us fantastic recommendations that really helped us experience the island like locals. The accommodation was newly renovated with a modern touch, yet preserved beautiful original frescoes that gave it so much character. Everything was clean, stylish, and very comfortable. We had such a great time that we’re already planning to come back and will definitely be recommending it to our family and friends!
