Very nice and clean rooms! The property has gates that are locked after a certain time at night, you use your room code to get in, so this made us feel very safe! Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful stay! Very clean, super cute, very comfortable. It is secluded and about 30 minutes from Columbus, MS where I was attending events - but the style, comfort, peacefulness, and amenities made up for the longer drive. HIGHLY recommend the Tangerine! Security was great too - the whole place was amazing and I can't say enough good things. Perfect for Instagram too, the branding was on point! Love the Tangerine!

This property is really unique! Far off the beaten path, which means peace and quiet for me! Good wifi, clean and safe room, newly remodeled modern designing. The owners have put a lot of care into this facility, which would be a great place to host a small wedding or corporate event!

This is a hidden gem! This is more of an event center than a hotel but so cool. The Hill is an old school that has been converted to a wedding venue, business and 18 room hotel. It is approximately 15 minutes away from Starkville in the middle of nowhere. The facility is beautiful. The rooms are amazing and the owners are great.

A true gem of a motel. Directions were clear and easy to follow to get into our room. The room was clean and cute. It smelled wonderfully of tangerines. The shower was huge. Property felt very secure. We would definitely stay here again.

Only negative is the milk offered for breakfast was expired and no one was around for us to let them know. Would still stay again.

This place is very clean. The operators are super friendly. It is smaller than some hotel rooms but it’s so well done that you don’t even notice. Honestly one of the best stays I’ve had in a long time and I will be going out of my way to return. We had the library room cause my girl is a nerd and I would highly recommend.

What a gem!! The Tangarine Motel was a pleasant surprise! The room was super clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the complimentary water and snacks that were waiting for us in the room. The towels were luxurious and the robes were a nice touch! We will be back!

Really cool unique modern motel renovated and remodeled from an old school building. The rooms have modern amenities, great cold AC unit, ceiling fan too, Roku TV, comfortable bed, lots of pillows, mini fridge, lots if towels, magnifying mirror, hot shower with large overhead rain shower head and also a handheld shower head. The nicest personal touch was a handwritten note welcoming us and wishing us a nice stay!

While it is a hotel, it seemed more like a bed and breakfast as there were no staff members on site. The place is very new and there is still construction going on. The breakfast was limited, but as advertised. The location is remote, but tranquil with nice grounds. Rooms are small, but comfortable.

The room was newly updated with some great perks. Our suprise was it is very remote and there is NO staff on property (or guests for that matter). I was with my daughter and not at all expecting an empty establishment - not seeing any staff and in a remote area with NO ONE around. Not at all comfortable with this. This should be disclosed on site. I would not have booked knowing this.

I cannot say enough good things about the Tangerine. We were in town for my grandmothers 99th birthday party and wanted to try a different place to stay than our usual commercial line of hotels and I’m so glad we did. From the contactless check in, to the cutest little seating areas outside to gather with others you’re staying with, to the nightly breakfast drop off and invites for “popcorn and beverage happy hour”, it was evident someone is pouring their heart into this place and it didn’t go unnoticed. My parents and sister stayed here also, all of our rooms were different but equally precious with details that made each one unique. If you ever get a chance to stay at this cute little place on the outskirts of town, it’s a 10/10 recommend 👌

Got to meet Robbie, his wife and mom … all are delightful. The free treats and happy hour make it extra special. We needed some attention given to our door lock and Robbie and his mom expeditiously resolved the problem! Suggest getting tissues for the room otherwise no complaints… we absolutely loved our stay ans highly recommend the Tangerine!

Super nice hotel. We arrived late due to travel, so it was a tad hard to see from the road. Once here, though, found some awesome goodies waiting for us in the room, including a hand written welcome note. It’s the small touches that made this a unique and exquisite hotel. Definitely coming back.

Newly built just a short trip from town. Shuttle service is being introduced if you don’t want to drive in for dinner. Extras like bottled water soda snacks in the room are an unexpected benefit. Clean quiet.

Very comfortable and inviting space from the grounds to the room and lounge. Perfect place for a weekend shut-in to decompress and relax. Comfortable beds, beautiful finishes, and complimentary drinks and snacks. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful spot! Quiet, clean, super cute. In the middle of nowhere but we lived it. Rooms were great. They do warn you there’s no food nearby…there’s nothing :)

We loved our stay. I wish i would have known about yhis place earlier. It's out a ways but well worth it. The small touches (robes, snacks, water, cokes) were such a nice surprise. The room was super clean. We will definitely be back.

I cannot say enough good things about the Tangerine. We were in town for my grandmothers 99th birthday party and wanted to try a different place to stay than our usual commercial line of hotels and I’m so glad we did. From the contactless check in, to the cutest little seating areas outside to gather with others you’re staying with, to the nightly breakfast drop off and invites for “popcorn and beverage happy hour”, it was evident someone is pouring their heart into this place and it didn’t go unnoticed. My parents and sister stayed here also, all of our rooms were different but equally precious with details that made each one unique. If you ever get a chance to stay at this cute little place on the outskirts of town, it’s a 10/10 recommend 👌

While it is a hotel, it seemed more like a bed and breakfast as there were no staff members on site. The place is very new and there is still construction going on. The breakfast was limited, but as advertised. The location is remote, but tranquil with nice grounds. Rooms are small, but comfortable.

Very unique stay at a remodeled school turned hotel/ wedding venue. Rooms were nicely decorated, up to date, and super clean. Free treats upon arrival. Quiet as we were the only guests. Only negative is the milk offered for breakfast was expired and no one was around for us to let them know. Would still stay again.

This felt more like a bed and breakfast. There are very few guests and very few people on staff. And we loved it and will be returning! The downside: We were somewhat skeptical when we arrived late at night and didn't see any other cars. You have to drive around the old high school to find the hotel rooms and even still there were only 2 or 3 cars. My kid said, "Mom where did you find this place??" But that's because this is an event venue and there wasn't an event going on when we were there. There are only 17 rooms and when we were there only 6 were occupied. The location is an odd combination of business offices that sell wildlife cameras and wild pig traps (seriously), event meeting rooms, and lovely little hotel rooms - that have all been converted from a high school. The upside: Despite all of that, once the sun rose and we got the lay of the land and met the staff in the breakfast room, we loved it! The food was delicious. The rooms were really lovely, super comfy beds and beautifully decorated, not standard hotel furniture. The staff communicated with us throughout our stay via text messages and were super sweet. We will be returning to The Tangerine on future visits to Starkville to see our son who is an MSU student!
