We were there for a weekend fishing trip. Property is apparently being upgraded from years of neglect or non use. I don't know the background so that is just as it appeared to me. The motel has been upgraded and the room was very nice. It was clean. Towels were sufficient and good quality as was the bedding. Store was fully stocked & any needed bait was available. Restaurant was pretty good for burgers and such. The people were very friendly. Boat ramp and dock was functional, though the dock itself had suffered from neglect. However, it was being improved. I didn't like the parking arrangement for boat trailer/vehicle. You have to park a ways from the ramp which is kind of a pain when launching and loading. Overall a positive experience, I'd go back.

Check-in is in the gas station before you pull in which is interesting but there was clear signage saying so. When we arrived, the lake is right in front of you and very pretty and you can see it clearly from the room. The room smelled really nice. However, there was A LOT of hair in the bathtub that was super gross and when my daughter tried to take a bath (after me washing it out), the stopper would not work and kept draining the water. Also the shower head leaked water pretty bad as I was running her bath so that was hard too as it got water everywhere. We were only there to sleep but we wouldn’t stay again. The neighbors were also crazy loud and kept us up past 1am when we had to be somewhere at 6am.

We had the most relaxing trip at Bells Marina & Resort. Our room was clean, and we loved that the decor wasn’t typical generic hotel prints. Beware of the beds! They are so comfortable they practically suck you in. Everything was convenient to our room. The lake was right outside our door, which couldn’t have pleased us more. The store, diner, and rental boats were right there. We had planned some hiking, and we discussed renting an electric boat. In the end, we opted to sit by the lake and have cookouts with all the wonderful people we met. The owner Jud was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is older, and you can hear the people above you. That wasn’t a problem for us, as we were hardly in our room, and the beds are too comfy to stay awake in. We can’t wait to get back to Bells Marina! Maybe next time we’ll get to that hiking, or maybe not.

Room was very nice. However we went to fish. No place to dock the boat and there is no good parking for a boat and trailer. Not a good set up. 10 miles to any number of restaurants. No restaurant at the “resort”.

I love this place! It is off the highway and chain hotel track, is wonderfully unique and full of friendly characters, but is only about 10 minutes from 95. There's a little fenced in area for dogs. A little drip in the shower and you can hear people walking above you if you're on the first floor, but everyone settles down early. Mist on the water in the morning, just beautiful.

Had a great stay. Beds were extremely comfortable. Having þhe shop on site was helpful. Good security, good staff. Only complaint was the on site restaurants breakfast buffet was subpar. Cold eggs, hard stail biscuits. We had a great stay overall.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The boat dock had been repaired and was functional. The store was good and well stocked. Now for the restaurant!!! It was absolutely awful. We ate or should I say tried to eat one meal. I had country fried steak and could only eat maybe three bites. It was all gristle and tough. The Mac and cheese must have been left over from another day along with the mashed potatoes. Go shop, fish, stay, but don’t eat.

Went for a long weekend getaway for some fishing and relaxing, it’s a great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. Has a store and restaurant at the front of the campground, we stayed in the hotel which has been recently updated. Boat ramp was fine for my 16ft bass boat. There are gators in the water near Bells Marina so no swimming for you or your dog. Overall we had a great time, we would stay here again.

Bell's Marina is a hidden gem. Family owned and off the beaten path, you can feel the community and the color in historic Eutawville. Every room has a inlet view off Lake Marion. The rooms are spotless and coffee and treats are provided.

We booked this last minute as a one night stay on our way home. The property itself was okay. The email and instructions we were given ahead of time said to text them if you were going to arrive late. We texted and never got a response. So then we called and got voicemail. Either way when we got there we were still able to check in without issue having gotten there just before the deadline. We actually had a connecting room. The room with the queen and kitchenette was quaint and nicely decorated, but the sheets had stains on them. Also the freezer in the room had not been cleaned out and had fish bait in it. In the connecting room with two beds for the kids the beds were fine but the bathtub was really gross. It looked like someone had cleaned their fish in it and there was a lot of mildew/mold. The walls are very very thin and the people in the room next to us were screaming at each other until late into the night. At least 11pm if not later. The owners provide single packages ear plugs presumably because of this issue, however I just left the tv on until I couldn't hear them carrying on anymore. Overall we may have considered it for a longer start in the future but given the reasons above we likely won't be back.

The stay was amazing as always. The owners and staff are exceptional. They make you feel at home from the moment you check in. They are very responsive and care about all of the guests. The facility is quiet and comfortable. Nature and peacefulness surround you at Bells Marina. There is no place like it around.

The email and instructions we were given ahead of time said to text them if you were going to arrive late. We texted and never got a response. So then we called and got voicemail. Either way when we got there we were still able to check in without issue having gotten there just before the deadline. We actually had a connecting room. The room with the queen and kitchenette was quaint and nicely decorated, but the sheets had stains on them. Also the freezer in the room had not been cleaned out and had fish bait in it. In the connecting room with two beds for the kids the beds were fine but the bathtub was really gross. It looked like someone had cleaned their fish in it and there was a lot of mildew/mold. The walls are very very thin and the people in the room next to us were screaming at each other until late into the night. At least 11pm if not later. The owners provide single packages ear plugs presumably because of this issue, however I just left the tv on until I couldn't hear them carrying on anymore. Overall we may have considered it for a longer start in the future but given the reasons above we likely won't be back.

I recently stayed 2 nights at the Bells Island Marina Hotel. It was a great place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and the lake is beautiful. I felt safe and secure there. I highly recommend a visit there. Jeanette R.

Thin! The walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you. Imagine trying to explain to the kids the couple in the next room are trying to make a baby. Imagine trying drive with no sleep. They even provide earplugs, but they don’t help. On top of that, someone on staff tried to force their way into my room when I was NAKED, standing in the middle of my room. Chain was on the door, TV was on, but he tried twice to force the door open. I complained, but management ignored it. FURTHERMORE! they shut the water off without any notice AT LUNCH TIME, when i had pizza grease all over my hands. I called before the trip to change to a room with a kitchen. I was told to wait until I got there, but no one had gotten the memo and was too busy running the register for me to insist.

Bells Marina is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for peaceful. Very comfortable and quiet off the beaten trail sanctuary. Great amenities down to mints on your pillows!! We would not hesitate to stay here again!!

Interesting place. A recently renovated 12 unit hotel in a motor home resort. Spacious room with a nice bath. Very quiet with a view of the lake from the window. The lake is about 50 feet away. A peaceful place to spend the night. Highly recommend.

We come every year to row in Santee - and this year tried out this place so we didn't have to drive half an hour to set in. The place was rustic and grasses kept clinging to our shoes. The price was amazing. Not much is open nearby.

I love this place! It is off the highway and chain hotel track, is wonderfully unique and full of friendly characters, but is only about 10 minutes from 95. There's a little fenced in area for dogs. A little drip in the shower and you can hear people walking above you if you're on the first floor, but everyone settles down early. Mist on the water in the morning, just beautiful.

I love that the room is so close to the water, a store on property so it's convenient. We stayed here before abs lived it. Brought the kids this time so i wish we would have had the kitchen but ill choose the room next time.. love my stay for sure

We were there for a weekend fishing trip. Property is apparently being upgraded from years of neglect or non use. I don't know the background so that is just as it appeared to me. The motel has been upgraded and the room was very nice. It was clean. Towels were sufficient and good quality as was the bedding. Store was fully stocked & any needed bait was available. Restaurant was pretty good for burgers and such. The people were very friendly. Boat ramp and dock was functional, though the dock itself had suffered from neglect. However, it was being improved. I didn't like the parking arrangement for boat trailer/vehicle. You have to park a ways from the ramp which is kind of a pain when launching and loading. Overall a positive experience, I'd go back.

We had the most relaxing trip at Bells Marina & Resort. Our room was clean, and we loved that the decor wasn’t typical generic hotel prints. Beware of the beds! They are so comfortable they practically suck you in. Everything was convenient to our room. The lake was right outside our door, which couldn’t have pleased us more. The store, diner, and rental boats were right there. We had planned some hiking, and we discussed renting an electric boat. In the end, we opted to sit by the lake and have cookouts with all the wonderful people we met. The owner Jud was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is older, and you can hear the people above you. That wasn’t a problem for us, as we were hardly in our room, and the beds are too comfy to stay awake in. We can’t wait to get back to Bells Marina! Maybe next time we’ll get to that hiking, or maybe not.

Room was very nice. However we went to fish. No place to dock the boat and there is no good parking for a boat and trailer. Not a good set up. 10 miles to any number of restaurants. No restaurant at the “resort”.

Wasn’t what I expected. The staff was friendly and liked that there was a diner and gas station on the property. Overall a good stay. They had WiFi and a lot of good channels to watch. Only thing is I would’ve liked a smoother road to drive into to get to the back of the property to get to the hotel part of the property.

Had a great stay. Beds were extremely comfortable. Having þhe shop on site was helpful. Good security, good staff. Only complaint was the on site restaurants breakfast buffet was subpar. Cold eggs, hard stail biscuits. We had a great stay overall.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The boat dock had been repaired and was functional. The store was good and well stocked. Now for the restaurant!!! It was absolutely awful. We ate or should I say tried to eat one meal. I had country fried steak and could only eat maybe three bites. It was all gristle and tough. The Mac and cheese must have been left over from another day along with the mashed potatoes. Go shop, fish, stay, but don’t eat.

There are gators in the water near Bells Marina so no swimming for you or your dog. Overall we had a great time, we would stay here again.

The property is built for the "get up and go" lifestyle. Our room was clean, functional, and equipped with all the essentials and even some freebies. The property is fully gated with 24/7 camera surveillance and ample free parking. You have to check-in in the store building facing the road where you get a tag for your vehicle. The real "lobby" there is the lakefront. Guests have full access to well-maintained common outdoor spaces. In the early spring, it was a sanctuary of silence. Directly adjacent to the property is the Eutaw Springs Battlefield, a pivotal Revolutionary War site. We went for a walk and learned quite a bit of history. Bells Marina is a pocket gem of the Lowcountry but it is rather rural.There is a small on-site store for essentials, but the stretch between there and Santee is largely undeveloped. Honestly, Santee is not that fancy :) We went to the closest IGA to stock up on your favorite groceries to take full advantage of the lakeside dining and didn't regret it. The morning shower was hot and strong and the towels were fluffy. These guys (thanks God) don't use cheap scented detergents or cleaners. Although pet-friendly, the place smelt fresh and was sparkling clean. We were pretty happy to find this landing spot to enjoy the best of the Santee Cooper lake system. Don't forget your fishing gear!
