Beautiful Victorian with gorgeous rooms. So fantastically furnished. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and loved showing the house to me. And garden! Delightful short stay. Perfect. Breakfast was also fantastic! Recommend this B&B highly. Will definitely go back for another visit.

This was by far the best experience I have ever had a B&B. Luis and Rhonda went above and beyond to ensure we were accommodated in every facet imaginable. This place alone is worth it for the trip down memory lane with the history of the house. My daughter absolutely loved the pink room. We had the oak room and it was very adequate for our needs. Breakfast is absolutely fantastic. I had the eggs benedict and Luis made sure we had enough food for early morning tournament times. The inn space has plenty of parking for tenants as well and the house has a phenomenal security system, with electronic locks on every suite door. The owners truly care about customers as we had engaging conversations about life and our careers. I welcome you to read the Salisbury hotel reviews around the area with constant compliants about noise, cleanliness issues, and loitering on hotel properties. I would highly recommend staying here for an assured uninterrupted good nights sleep knowing your family is safe and your property is safe. Plus the fact of knowing the room & furnishings are adequately cleaned during and after each guest visit. The complimentary fridge with drinks was awesome for on the go waters while we made in between stops or when the tournament day was over. They really made my kids feel welcome as well. We are slated to play in another tournament in the Fall and we will be back to stay for sure. The only 4 star mention was the mattress because I missed mine at home.

A step back in time! This bed-and-breakfast is a Victorian home in a historic preservation area in Salisbury Md close to historic churches and downtown. The home is well preserved and taken care of with Victorian decor and contents as well as modern amenities. The beautiful stained glass windows and lighting and crystal chandeliers are everywhere. The antique wood railings, trim and even the finely detailed parquet floors took me back to another time in history, to how the “well-heeled” families lived in the late 1800’s in a small town surrounded by farms. The location is very close to amenities and a short drive to Ocean City, Maryland as well as Assateague Island. Also a half hour drive to Windmill Creek Winery another restored 1800 home near Berlin which is a historic winery and a fun place to visit if you want a break from the boardwalk vibe. The host couple at Gillis B and B were very sweet and attentive to all details. Breakfast was delightful and also a great assortment of teas and coffee. The price was much more affordable than staying in a decent “chain hotel” in the area from Salisbury to Ocean City. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to have this kind of experience. Added note: the “square” winding staircase was like nothing I have ever seen!

Luis and Rhonda are fantastic hosts! The house is gorgeous, and both were willing to share its fascinating history. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, and there is off street parking available. Two thumbs up, if you need a cute place to stay, this is it!

Such a beautiful house. Its was wonderful to sit at breakfast and learn about the history of the place. Such interesting stories about the original owner. The character of the house and grounds have been carefully and lovingly restored to there original glory.

We stayed for one night at this lovely bnb, hosted by the amazing Charlene. We stayed in the Pineapple Room which was very comfortable. The old Victorian house is a treat to walk through, with a wonderful wrap-around porch. Charlene went out of her way to accomodate us. Our only regret was that we weren't able to enjoy her breakfast since we had to leave early in the morning.

This was my furst experience staying in a B&B, and after this it will be hard to stay in a hotel again. The house is absolutely beautiful! If you love old homes, you want to stay here. The architectural details are amazing. The owners were so welcoming and kind. The breakfast was yummy! The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. The rates are very reasonable. If I travel back to Salisbury again, I will definitely be returning to Gillis Grier.

Beautiful home with a lot of flare and history! The house is beautifully kept, and the food is fantastic! We loved staying in to drinking coffee in the parlor room and utilizing the massive powder room. The best part however was interacting with Charleen & John, the owners - what a joy to hear their stories of the house. They are so kind! They provided many recommendations, a yummy breakfast (!), and spectacular hospitality. Absolutely recommend staying at this historic BnB!

Luiz & Rhonda are fantastic hosts, who take exceptional care of their property - the house, furnishings, & objects in all rooms were exquisite, largely reflecting the period during the home's construction. Though 2 other rooms on our floor were also occupied, there was no noise to interrupt the calm of our stay. Breakfast was wonderful - miniature spinach quiches, fresh fruit on waffles with bacon, & warm Amish apple cake. We will definitely return during our future trips to Ocean City - this bed & breakfast is our new home in Salisbury.

Luiz & Rhonda are “Awesome”hosts. The house was great more like a museum. Our room was really nice and quiet. Breakfast was fresh fruit on waffles with bacon, omelet, and eggs Benedict. Rhonda definitely went above and beyond making our meals gluten free. We’ll return again in the future. I highly recommend this bed & breakfast you’ll love it. Ken & Cindy

Owners were very friendly. The breakfast was exceptional. Enjoyed meeting and talking to other guests at breakfast. We stayed in the Pineapple room. The Gillis Grier B and B was incredible. A stay here is an immersion in the Gilded Age. The 1885 house is extremely well preserved yet unobtrusively updated to provide maximum comfort and easy access to modern necessities like WiFi. I had to leave early in the morning for a race, but on our way home my wife could hardly stop raving about the breakfast she was served. Our hosts Rhonda and Luis made us feel at home, but better. They clearly enjoy being hosts, and we feel like we've made friends. This is the place to stay in Salisbury.
The Gillis Grier B and B was incredible. A stay here is an immersion in the Gilded Age. The 1885 house is extremely well preserved yet unobtrusively updated to provide maximum comfort and easy access to modern necessities like WiFi. I had to leave early in the morning for a race, but on our way home my wife could hardly stop raving about the breakfast she was served. Our hosts Rhonda and Luis made us feel at home, but better. They clearly enjoy being hosts, and we feel like we've made friends. This is the place to stay in Salisbury.

The room we were in had the a/c vent in the ceiling and the vent directed air onto the bed, which was uncomfortable. A vent redirecting the air away might resolve the issue. Other than that, we had a great stay.

We had a very nice stay. The place has a lot of charm. The owners are very nice and the breakfast was very good. The only downsize is the bed is a bit small and squeaky. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

We had a lovely short visit staying in the Pineapple room. The pictures on Expedia don't do the place justice. The house is much more beautiful in person. The owners are welcoming and gracious. Once you walk through the front door, it's like being transported to the past. It's quiet and comfortable with rooms steeped history. A great place to relax over tea while reading a book. Our bed was comfortable as well. There was a working electric fireplace with nice amenities like soft robes and slippers. We'll return again.

Luiz & Rhonda are fantastic hosts, who take exceptional care of their property - the house, furnishings, & objects in all rooms were exquisite, largely reflecting the period during the home's construction. Though 2 other rooms on our floor were also occupied, there was no noise to interrupt the calm of our stay. Breakfast was wonderful - miniature spinach quiches, fresh fruit on waffles with bacon, & warm Amish apple cake. We will definitely return during our future trips to Ocean City - this bed & breakfast is our new home in Salisbury.

We had a great experience with wonderful hosts. We went for an early morning event, and to our surprise, they were up very early ready to serve us. We had expected to quietly slip out and were met with more than we could have expected. They went above and beyond in every regard. The property is interesting and historic, but comfortable. This is the go to place in Salisbury.

Amazing weekend. Absolutely felt welcomed. Wonderful Breakfast and coffee started the day perfectly. Our hosts were just the sweetest and offered helpful information about the area. Definitely want to go back.

Our host was kind and helpful. They allowed us to check in early because we would be with family during the check-in time. The home is beautifully kept, with stunning architecture and furnishings. It was like stepping back in time. We would certainly stay again!

Luiz & Rhonda are “Awesome”hosts. The house was great more like a museum. Our room was really nice and quiet. Breakfast was fresh fruit on waffles with bacon, omelet, and eggs Benedict. Rhonda definitely went above and beyond making our meals gluten free. We’ll return again in the future. I highly recommend this bed & breakfast you’ll love it. Ken & Cindy

This is a home from the 1890's that was carefully restored and is lovingly maintained by the current owners. If you like old buildings and appreciate preservation, this is a real treat, but you do need to know that en-suite bathrooms were not the norm 120 years ago. The owners are solicitous but they respect their guest's privacy as well. I have special dietary requirements (gf&df), and they prepared a delicious breakfast especially for me. If you expect all the modern conveniences of a chain hotel, this might not be for you, but if you like to connect with the local community and its history, this is a lovely place to visit.

The accommodations are great. The host and hostess are amazing, they want to be sure you are comfortable and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Breakfast was terrific - no stale bagels and rubber scrambled eggs!

The owners were extremely accommodating with my son who just had shoulder surgery. They brought in a cot for us since it was difficult to share a bed with all of his contraptions he needed at night. The breakfasts were so yummy and we enjoyed both of the days we stayed. Amazing place to stay and we will for sure be back.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is gorgeous and the hosts were friendly and made us feel immediately at home. The neighborhood is beautiful and we had an easy walk to a nice restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We will certainly come back for another stay.

I stayed in the B&B for convenience of location and really enjoyed my stay! The owners look, Luis and Ronda were very personable and I enjoyed hearing stories about the home and its history. I was visiting my daughter who attends Salisbury university and I plan to stay at the B&B again on my next visit.

A step back in time! This bed-and-breakfast is a Victorian home in a historic preservation area in Salisbury Md close to historic churches and downtown. The home is well preserved and taken care of with Victorian decor and contents as well as modern amenities. The beautiful stained glass windows and lighting and crystal chandeliers are everywhere. The antique wood railings, trim and even the finely detailed parquet floors took me back to another time in history, to how the “well-heeled” families lived in the late 1800’s in a small town surrounded by farms. The location is very close to amenities and a short drive to Ocean City, Maryland as well as Assateague Island. Also a half hour drive to Windmill Creek Winery another restored 1800 home near Berlin which is a historic winery and a fun place to visit if you want a break from the boardwalk vibe. The host couple at Gillis B and B were very sweet and attentive to all details. Breakfast was delightful and also a great assortment of teas and coffee. The price was much more affordable than staying in a decent “chain hotel” in the area from Salisbury to Ocean City. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to have this kind of experience. Added note: the “square” winding staircase was like nothing I have ever seen!

This was a great property that has some history to it which is cool too. The breakfasts were fantastic and the owners were very nice people. Located in a nice area of Salisbury and had parking as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone

Luis and Rhonda are fantastic hosts! The house is gorgeous, and both were willing to share its fascinating history. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, and there is off street parking available. Two thumbs up, if you need a cute place to stay, this is it!

I booked to attend a family funeral nearby, so I didn't take advantage of all that this historic Victorian and its attentive owners offer, but the hospitality and comfort were top-notch. The house is faithfully and impeccably appointed to feel like its youth in 1887. A delicious breakfast is custom-made for guests, and the whole experience is relaxing. I highly recommend this property in the historic Newtown area of Salisbury, with oodles of turn-of-the-century Victorian structures and lots to do in the city center.

John warmly greeted us on arrival and Charlene gave us a nice tour of this quaint Victorian BnB. The home boasts period furniture, decor and some pictures of early owners. Great location with a couple of nice restaurants in walking distance.

The location was quite close to the center of town, but it was very quiet. The bedding was very soft and comfortable. I slept better than I slept in weeks! The hiss could not have been more accommodating! The breakfast was at a gourmet level. I would definitely stay there again!

The home is exactly as the picture shown louis and Veronica were great hosts. Only thing i would suggest is more on a food selection option for breakfast. There really is not one bad thing to say.

I walked into a beautiful Victorian era home, 1887. The house has been maintained and restored authenticly with modern updated amenities. The house is very clean and polished. The bed was very comfortable, the linens and robe were crisp and fresh. The hosts Louis and Rhonda, were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was good, a lovely yogurt parfait with fresh berries and granola. The cheese omelette was good , cooked with more butter it would have been perfect. Yummy.

The most wonderful hosts with a delicious breakfast and a very accommodating, beautiful house and they really make you feel at home. I can’t say enough good things about our stay and we’ll definitely go back again whenever we pass through Salisbury, the bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked great.
