Look No Further! Such and amazing find. The host was lovely to work with and the property stunning. A homey coastal cottage that offered something for everyone. Comfy beds, board games and puzzles, huge flat screen and TV and cozy blankets for cool mornings. If you have small children the play house in the backyard is a dream and the beach pass that is provided gives access to a great family beach for swimming or looking for shells. Super easy walk to town and a great restaurant, Harbor Mist, a block away. This place has it all!

Cute house overlooking the water within walking distance to the village of Cold Spring Harbor, just a short drive to the shops in Huntington, and an hour train ride or drive into the City. Additional benefits of a two-story outdoor playhouse for kids and a game room in the basement!

Came into town for Passover in Syosset, this was a great home to stay in for the long weekend. Beautiful location with lots in walking distance so we could enjoy the area. Kitchen amazingly well stocked to be able to help with cooking. As others have mentioned, the stairs to one of the King bedrooms are very steep so at least 2 guests need to be able to essentially go up and down a ladder- our guest mix made this fine. Backyard seating area was beautiful with direct access to Cold Spring Harbor State park. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Beautiful home, immaculate. Host was very attentive and made some wonderful exceptions for us. View of the bay and the sunsets were spectacular! Kitchen is very well stocked. Beds were comfy and the decor was so tasteful. Thank you! We had a lovely stay.

Home was very clean with all supplies needed for our stay of 3 nights. Location was perfect with ability to walk to town as well as a bonus a state park hiking trail accessible from the back yard.

My family stayed at the Captain’s Cottage for a week over holiday break and affectionately called it the “Christmas House”. We had a lovely time, the views of Cold Spring Harbor from the downstairs windows, front porch and upper porch were incredible, especially at sunrise. The house was cozy, very clean with so many wonderful touches for the season. We enjoyed watching movies, playing ping pong, visiting downtown Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington, and using the upstairs fireplace before bed on the colder nights. Kim was good about checking in and communicating while also giving us space to be with our family. Thank you so much Kim and George for a great stay! We hope to return again!

We have rented a number of places on VRBO and this is our favorite. It was charming, clean and spacious. We don't have small children but if we did this would be perfect with a game room downstairs and an outdoor playhouse. Would definitely return!

What a lovely home! Accurately described. Very clean! Walkable to town and the Greenway is out the back door!! Super cute master bedroom upstairs but we didn't use it. No bathroom and steep stairs to get to it on the main floor. The queen bedroom was perfect. Comfortable beds! Loved it all!!

I rented this home for a multi-family vacation. We all absolutely loved the house. The beautiful view of the habor was amazing to see out the windows, porches, and backyard. The next door neighbors are very friendly. The house is very beautiful inside and comfortable. Bed upstairs was soft, king bed on the main floor is medium firm. The single beds on main floor one is soft one really firm. The playhouse in the backyard was the highlight for my grandson and made his vacation so special. In walking distance is a deil with the best coffee in town . They have bagels delivered daily and other delicious breakfast sandwiches. There are many restaurants, groceries stores and train station in the area. There is also a 24 hrs CVS close by. You can walk down to the boat dock and see mussels during low tide. The fire pit in the backyard was nice to sit around and hangout. The owners are friendly and responsive if you have an issue.

I travelled to work for the week on Long Island with two work colleagues. This house made the trip a treat! Love the kitchen amenities and great beds. The owner was so kind and although it snowed on day, the porch and drive were shoveled before we left for work. One caveat: if you don’t like stairs, this isn’t the place for you. If stairs are fine, I can’t recommend this super clean and absolutely charming house more. Will gladly book again when I visit.

What you see in the profile and photos is what you'll see and experience in real life -- Captain's Cottage is beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, and with a location that can't easily be matched. I was born in Cold Spring Harbor and was back often til my parents retired elsewhere 20 years ago. When it came time to return to the area for a family event we considered staying in a hotel....until I found Captain's Cottage. It was so good to be in Cold Spring Harbor...in this location...in this fabulous house with the idyllic front porch and upstairs balcony, sipping coffee in the morning, watching seabirds and boats coming and going. This place is so nice a stay of only 2 nights felt like a week of vacation.

This is a quaint property located off the main road going through town but you would never know it. It is quiet and tranquil. Property is clean and well maintained. The owner has provided many amenities, my husband appreciated the well stocked coffee"nook." We walked everywhere and it was fun to explore the waterfront. A quick drive to Sagamore Hill and Oyster Bay. We enjoyed our stay. Owner was very responsive to my questions.

Great communication and easy to access. The pictures really captured everything we’d be getting at the rental. Cozy place with really great views of the sunsets. Plenty of towels, dishes, soap and paper goods. Checkout was also an easy and reasonable process!

It became a short retreat into beauty and quiet just for myself. This my 2nd time around. Kim and George are exceptional hosts and purveyors of life! They inspire your senses in every way each day you find something new to discover in this exquisitely detailed lovingly assembled abode. It’s remarkable how many crevices draw you in even the children’s play parlor. Lol! Yep was in there as well -true story! There is no comparison. It’s worth every cent! I was so blessed and renewed ! We loved this little cottage. It was very clean and organized and the location was great!! It was nice to have space to relax and not be stuck in a small hotel room.

What you see in the profile and photos is what you'll see and experience in real life -- Captain's Cottage is beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, and with a location that can't easily be matched. I was born in Cold Spring Harbor and was back often til my parents retired elsewhere 20 years ago. When it came time to return to the area for a family event we considered staying in a hotel....until I found Captain's Cottage. It was so good to be in Cold Spring Harbor...in this location...in this fabulous house with the idyllic front porch and upstairs balcony, sipping coffee in the morning, watching seabirds and boats coming and going. This place is so nice a stay of only 2 nights felt like a week of vacation.

This is a quaint property located off the main road going through town but you would never know it. It is quiet and tranquil. Property is clean and well maintained. The owner has provided many amenities, my husband appreciated the well stocked coffee"nook." We walked everywhere and it was fun to explore the waterfront. A quick drive to Sagamore Hill and Oyster Bay. We enjoyed our stay. Owner was very responsive to my questions.

I rented this home for a multi-family vacation. We all absolutely loved the house. The beautiful view of the habor was amazing to see out the windows, porches, and backyard. The next door neighbors are very friendly. The house is very beautiful inside and comfortable. Bed upstairs was soft, king bed on the main floor is medium firm. The single beds on main floor one is soft one really firm. The playhouse in the backyard was the highlight for my grandson and made his vacation so special. In walking distance is a deil with the best coffee in town . They have bagels delivered daily and other delicious breakfast sandwiches. There are many restaurants, groceries stores and train station in the area. There is also a 24 hrs CVS close by. You can walk down to the boat dock and see mussels during low tide. The fire pit in the backyard was nice to sit around and hangout. The owners are friendly and responsive if you have an issue.

Look No Further! Such and amazing find. The host was lovely to work with and the property stunning. A homey coastal cottage that offered something for everyone. Comfy beds, board games and puzzles, huge flat screen and TV and cozy blankets for cool mornings. If you have small children the play house in the backyard is a dream and the beach pass that is provided gives access to a great family beach for swimming or looking for shells. Super easy walk to town and a great restaurant, Harbor Mist, a block away. This place has it all!

Our stay at the Captain's Cottage was absolutely magical and the perfect experience for a holiday trip. The cottage itself was incredibly festive and cozy, and we were delighted by how beautifully decorated for the holiday season it was upon our arrival. It truly felt like a home away from home.The surrounding town of Cold Spring Harbor was just as lovely, living up to our expectations of a picture-perfect setting, much like a Christmas card. We enjoyed walking through the quaint shops and along the charming harbor.The hosts made the entire experience wonderful. They were fantastic—responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating, putting a lot of effort into ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We can't wait to return and highly recommend this absolute gem of a place to anyone visiting the area!
