The guest house was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owners live next door, but they are friendly and respect your privacy just as they want theirs respected. They have a golf cart you can rent, which is how a lot of people travel in the town. It’s a nice, relaxing place to take life a little slower.

This is a perfect little cottage with plenty of privacy on a beautiful property! Very close to downtown, and so fun to explore with the golf cart rental offered by Anthony. Great communication, easy check-in. We will definitely visit again!

Comfy, spacious getaway. Pretty place & views. Lots of windows & light. Comfortable bed & bedding and just the right small touches to enhance your stay. All the amenities needed for a weekend getaway. Close to the Main street shops in historic district. We especially enjoyed being greeted by a nice buck & a few does lounging on the front lawn when we returned in the evening.

The property is beautiful as it is seemingly secluded away from all of the hustle and bustle of traffic and people, but surprisingly close to shops and restaurants as well as a quick jump onto the freeway if you need it. The apartment is luxuriously appointed, private and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The yard of the cottage is beatiful. The huge window looks out on the beautiful yard and trees. We had deer come through each night. It is located near town. We will definitely go there again.

This property was great for my friend and I who were in town to celebrate my birthday. I loved the big windows and swings on the grounds. It was stocked with everything that we needed. The only thing I wish would have been communicated, was that there was a golf cart to rent with the room. I did not know and therefore rented from a company and paid triple for it.

An absolutely gorgeous place to stay! The check in process was smooth and simple, pictures were sent to help guide where to park and how to access the guesthouse. It still feels very private even though it’s close to the main house, the open windows facing the property are beautiful. My first morning there I saw four deer roaming around the property! Highly recommend this place! A beautiful little getaway for my birthday weekend!

This was a perfect stay for me as I was looking for some peaceful rest. The view from the windows into the yard was beautiful with lots of big trees. Sitting in the tree swing was relaxing. It was a short walk into the more business part of Salado with shops and restaurants. A perfect stay for me.

You will love this place. Very friendly manager. Everything was clean and well presented. Next time we plan on renting their golfcart as the city permits the carts on the streets.

Super cute little stay! Very clean. Easy to access. I don’t sleep well when I travel but I slept like a rock here! Nice and quiet. And the bathroom has a HUGE tub. Super close to the downtown area. We ate at Barton House and did glass blowing at Salado Glassworks. Will def stay here again when we come back.

Always a wonderful stay at the Salado Cottage Retreat! The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The location is great, close to Main St. but just far enough away to enjoy the scenery and deer. We won't stay anywhere else if the Cottage if available.

Beautiful place, so clean and well maintained! I loved this stay! We had such a great time. They have Netflix you can sign into which was a bonus and that bed! Lawd, I slept well! So well that my husband and I were trying to figure out what type of mattress it is. They also have a 12 noon checkout time which is super generous. We stayed until the last possible moment because it was so relaxing and nice. This will be my go too spot when in Salado. Thanks a million!

This guest house is absolutely gorgeous. Clean, very spacious, and has everything you need. We loved the property - just beautiful - inside and out! And loved seeing deer both nights we were there. The Cottage has become our home away from home in Salado. It is meticulously maintained and situated on a beautiful lot with lots of large trees. The location is perfect, with great access to Main Street. We won't stay anywhere else!

The room was very big. Loved all the windows was able to see deer out the window. Bed was very very comfortable loved the fan. A couple of things I would have liked was a place to hang towels and a small light on counter so I didn’t wake anyone while I made coffee 😊

We saw a doe and her fawn and then 3 other deer. Very peaceful and quiet. The host gave us all the info for check-in and everything worked great. We had no issues during our stay. We will definitely stay here again. We were very pleased with everything.

In Salado for a wedding and this place was close to the highway and the venue. Beautiful view of the property and deer from a panoramic window, lots of room space and amenities. Bathroom setup was pretty cool and even the coffee was good.

This is our second stay here. We just love staying here when we are in the area. Got to see two fawn not far from our room the first day. It is just a beautiful place to stay and the room is wonderful. Anthony and his family are always very communicative and helpful. Whenever we are in the area, we are hoping to stay here again and again.

The check-in process was seamless, the room/cottage was as described and it was in a great location. The views were great, deer everywhere, large 100+ year old Live Oaks in the front and very affordable. It was approximately a mile from town so we would have walked had the weather been more cooperative. Thank you for a nice stay, we will be back and would highly recommend this location to others.

We had a wonderful & comfortable stay. Bed is so comfy, & the tub is amazing for a soak after a hot day on your feet exploring the town! The walk into town is about 3-4 blocks to the very north end of Main St.

The property is beautiful as it is seemingly secluded away from all of the hustle and bustle of traffic and people, but surprisingly close to shops and restaurants as well as a quick jump onto the freeway if you need it. The apartment is luxuriously appointed, private and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Cottage has become our home away from home in Salado. It is meticulously maintained and situated on a beautiful lot with lots of large trees. The location is perfect, with great access to Main Street. We won't stay anywhere else!

In Salado for a wedding and this place was close to the highway and the venue. Beautiful view of the property and deer from a panoramic window, lots of room space and amenities. Bathroom setup was pretty cool and even the coffee was good.

The check-in process was seamless, the room/cottage was as described and it was in a great location. The views were great, deer everywhere, large 100+ year old Live Oaks in the front and very affordable. It was approximately a mile from town so we would have walked had the weather been more cooperative. Thank you for a nice stay, we will be back and would highly recommend this location to others.

Great location! We used Golfcart option 1 day which was great addition. We watched wildlife out the window everyday. The host were very helpful

The property was easily accessible. Upon walking in, the natural light is on display and it’s apparent that the place is spotless. The bed is big, the room is spacious, and the bathroom has both a large tub and a spacious shower area. Everything cleaned to inspection level readiness. The bed was soft and pleasant. I recommend utilizing the golf cart option to explore the town. I ate at “The Shed” and I was not disappointed. In addition to one of the tastiest mojitos I’ve ever encountered, the food was flavorful and delicious. I recommend the banana pudding for dessert! I also was able to dine at McCain’s for breakfast. One word: Pancakes! They’re delicious and worth the experience in and of themselves. Anthony was a gracious host and more than willing to answer any questions. I will be staying here again.
