Orchid Hotel and Spa Kalim Bay

The room wasn't cleaned properly when I checked in, or during the stay. The bathroom window was rusted open and wouldn't close, so mosquitos got in, the toilet seat was broken, the toilet roll holder was missing. The aircon worked, but the cover came off in my hand when I tried to adjust it and it made a crackling noise. There are no mosquito nets (as advertised) The pool area had 7 loungers, 6 of which has broken seats so you couldn't really use them. Plus, someone had a dog in a 1st floor room which barked a lot and peed on their balcony, which then ran down into the pool area and made the whole area smell of hot dog urine. Our power went out one night and we were moved to a room on the roof which had a huge dead cockroach and mouse / rat droppings, somebody's clothes and medications in the cupboard, and a broken bathroom door. We had to beg daily for housekeeping and replacement toilet rolls, but the room was only cleaned twice during our 10 day stay, despite daily housekeeping being advertised. The spa is permanently closed. Situated on a very busy road with a very small beach on the other side. Staff were friendly, but overall the hotel itself was in a sorry state and in desperate need of some TLC.
