Holiday Inn Express Urumqi Station by IHG

Very clean . Had a quiet restful night during my layover . Taxi was 7$ each way.

Only stayed one day. Good experience.

Room was not cleaned properly. Change of towels have stains.

Good hotel in Urumqi. Not walking distance from Urumqi Train Station, but a short taxi ride distance approx. 3-4km. And short roughly 20 min taxi to airport. 2 out of 3 staff provided excellent customer service as follows. Arrived early on Saturday morning and the male staff checked the weather forecast and even used his mobile phone to check DiDi (China version of Uber) fare to the airport from the hotel for me. He told me that the hotel staff can book the DiDi or taxi for me tomorrow ie Sunday when I check out. His customer service was excellent. On Sunday, I asked the 2 female staff on duty to call DiDi or taxi for me when I checked out. One of the female staff refused outright and told me to hail a taxi from the road side myself. Do not have her name but she had a slightly Caucasian look with light brownish / blondish hair and a bit plump(ish). This is probably the same female staffer that other reviewer mentioned about not wanting to help call a taxi! The other female staff, on the other hand, offered to accompany me to the road and hailed a taxi for me and told the taxi driver to take me to the airport. She really showed excellent customer service. So, 2 out of 3 hotel staff provided excellent customer service. So, because of this one female staffer, my rating was 4/5 instead of 5/5. I hope hotel management would look into this

I requested a taxi call for a ride to airport, but they can not help, i hope they can improve on that
