Under Canvas Grand Canyon

This was such a unique experience, staff was super helpful and kind. They were very well prepared for everything you could think of. It honestly didn’t really occur to me that the tents wouldn’t have power to charge my laptop / camera batteries, but the staff was prepared for that with an xl battery bank as well as smaller ones for charging phones. My brother has a C-Pap machine and they provided him a battery bank for that as well. It was extra chilly the time we stayed and staff gave us extra blankets as well as handled the fire for us and have us hot water bottles and hot pockets. It was so nice sitting around the camp fires making new friends and hearing about others travels. Beds were super comfortable!!

If you’re considering glamping, Under Canvas is your place! Where would you find a spacious tent complete with a flush toilet and a hot shower?! We couldn’t have asked for anything better! You do have to stoke and feed a fire for the night but the cozy bed and warm bedding are more than adequate. The fire pits foster conversation with others from all of over our globe! The onsite dining was delicious! And the skies! Wow! Under Canvas surpassed our expectations :)

Wonderful bed! And all those pillows, too. Woodstove a plus and kept the tent toasty warm. Indoor chairs too low for comfort. Coolers full of ice just the thing to keep food/drinks cool and safe.

Really cool experience staying in a safari tent in the desert. The reception staff is wonderful, the concierge gives amazing advice about the Grand Canyon from hiking to Star parties! There are lovely activities hosted at Under Cancas like snowcones, live music and morning yoga. The food is excellent!!!! The bathrooms could be cleaned a little better, but they were not terrible. One girl working at the restaurant seemed absolutely miserable and should probably just not be there. Other than that the stay was amazing! Magic’s drive to the Grand Canyon and super dark at night meaning a great view of the beautiful starry sky!

Great options for kids and nice amenities in room and good healthy food options in dining room.

The check in was smooth. The staff has given us a hand on moving the luggage to my tent by driving a buggy. The restaurant food was good. During the sunset time, hey will set up camp fire with complimentary marshmallows and chocolate, which was great fun. As there is no electricity in the tent, they have provided mobile chargers for us to use. It was a great glamping experience at Grand Canyon Park.

We had a lovely stay at under the canvas. Our safari tent was comfortable and near the restrooms. The restrooms were clean. We had dinner and drinks which were delicious. Followed by campfires, live music and S’mores. Outstanding stars over night and yoga in the morning. A perfect stay

Simply amazing! The canvas tents are beautiful, comfortable, clean and such a fun experience.The shared area had games, activities and even a restaurant. There are hammocks and fire pits in the shared areas too. The best experience for us was the night sky and seeing the Milky Way galaxy for the first time! We will definitely book this property again!

Wonderful experience. Truly a heaven for Star gazers if the sky is dark. Conveniently located to the GrandCanyons and wonderful team. Also food options are really good. We really had a memorable time!

We had a fantastic time under the stars. We were fortunate that it was a clear night and we had a perfect view of the milkyway galaxy. Although the food was okay we were there for the outdoor experience. The tents were clean and really comfortable. The only issue i had was with the canvas, it had a small hole that seemed to created by a small animal but it’s expected being in the woods, my hope is that it gets patched. Overall, we had a great experience and would stay there again.

Had a great time staying here! Tents, beds, washrooms, showers were all very clean with towels and shampoo etc provided! They had a tie dye station and s’mores available for the campfires, board games, a guitar and much more! All the staff were incredibly nice! I would highly recommend!

Everything was perfect in this glamping experience. The "room" was clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent; the live music (outside) was perfect for the vibe (think Bob Dylan). I really have no criticisms. (They had free smores!)

This was a fun and unique experience. The staff was excellent and everyone was helpful and friendly. They had fun things to do on-site and offered options for near by activities too. The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner but guessing it was due to a full camp. all in all it was a great experience!!!

Amazing customer service! Fun and memorable activities and entertainment. Clean and safe environment with dreamy ambiance. My only two suggestions would be to have a few more smore fire pits or employees around the one welcoming everyone interested in making a s’more. Only one large family was sitting in the chairs surrounding the smore fire pit the whole time the activity was going on and everyone else who was interested in making a smore felt too awkward to slip in between the tightly gathered family group to make one. Many kids really wanted to make one. I also would have loved for the sweatshirts and sweaters to be more affordable so that more people can enjoy them and it would pay for itself in advertisement if so many more people were able to wear them. The one I love was $170. I understand the attraction of also having posh items for the wealthy and I would have even been willing to splurge, but that was even too extreme for my splurge and a bummer for the average person. I did buy a soft t-shirt for $30 because supporting this wonderful business is important to me. With this being said, those two things were not enough to take away a star due to the fact that the customer service was so impeccable that I know they will take feedback and go out of their way to make things an even more magical experience and memory than it already is. I’m blown away at how well this business is organized and ran, as well as how much obvious thought, passion, and love is put into it.

It was an excellent glamping spot, great for positioning to the Grand Canyon. Property was clean and well maintained. Recommended to take the tents with private washrooms, they are handy to have.

I booked through here and thought glamping would be a new experience for my husband and I. I read all the details and description given and looked at photos, so we said why not. The moment we got there, it looked pretty cool and the lady who helped us was extremely helpful and had a great attitude and personality. So no issues with regards to guest services. However, the moment we got into our “tent” it just went downhill from there. The tent looked disgusting, there were so many brown/wet spots all over, the floors were dusty, not to mention it was wood and not even sanded. You’d have to wear your shoes or bring slippers if you don’t wanna get a splinter. The sink and shower were awful, you have to hold the handle down the entire time to wash your hands and the shower you literally have to pull the chain and hold it in order for water to come down. The water was scorching hot and when I asked about if the water is gonna be like that the entire time, they said they could come and change the temp but more than likely would still stay the same. The bed was god awful!! It was extremely hot, sinks in so much and I swear the frame was going to break on and constantly squeaks from the littlest movement. You get a weak tiny little battery operated fan, a power bank that was barely half charged. They tell you that you can’t eat in the tent. They need to put all that info in the description because paying almost $1k for a deluxe tent for 2 nights was beyond ridiculous! Not worth it.

Wish the staff showed us the mister in OUR tent....had no idea until we left...did not work. Need a better setup with 3 twins felt like an army barrack. Not like the others. Staff not happy when I had to get another fan and battery pack, then the battery pack was at 28 percent...ugh. ceiling fans would be a great addition. The bathhouse was stocked and clean a brighter light would be nice. The menu was not great and the prices were worse than gouging..WOW 14 bucks for two chicken tenders. why tip? zero hospitality service. On the plus side it was pretty neat overall. The dining area and fire pits were nice.

Food is good 4. beds are comfy 5. staff was cheerful and sincere 6. great vibe Not so great 1. there is dust/dirt everywhere, inside the tents, just due to the location 2. we had sustained winds of 20 mph with stronger gusts and it made the tents so noisy — hard to sleep and at some points, felt like the tent was going to blow away (the whole structure was shaking!) we were told by staff that the winds were common due to the elevation of the area. 3. we stayed the first week of the season in april and it was very cold in the am, especially once your fire burns out in the night 4. although supposedly heated, our shower was cold and pull chain only gave you 30 seconds of lukewarm water at a time. we skipped showering during our stay. overall, if you like camping and looking for more luxe and can handle the price, i think you will like this. if you’re a hotel person, you can enjoy staying here, but just go in with different expectations. the other hotels we passed near grand canyon looked kind of soulless in comparison, but you could probably get a hot shower there.

It was just okay. The beds were not super comfy. We did not understand at all how the showers would only be hot for 30 seconds at a time. The stoves couldn't warm the entire tent. There was nothing glamorous about this glamping experience. We definitely felt like we were roughing it.

If you are looking for an experience this is your place. If you are looking for a luxury place to stay keep in mind this is not a hotel. There is no AC and the tents gets very hot during the day and very cold during the night. Shower even at the privet bathroom tents is very limited so I wouldn’t recommend for a long stay. Staff is great, helpful and super friendly. Beds are very comfortable and the tents and common areas are beautifully and tastefully designed. Food is great but very pricy! Overall it was a very great experience but way too expensive for what it is!

Not for us….putting wood on the fire every hour…work up freezing both nights

We stayed in the Stargazer tent. It was beautiful. We would have liked to have the bed more under the window. It was a little in front of it.

This place is incredible! Truly a magical experience! It’s so comfortable, the tents have everything you could need. Warm fireplace, hot shower, and comfy bed under the stars. I can’t wait to try the other locations. Falling asleep to a crackling fire and the sounds of the desert around us has been amazing.

The staff was great- prompt and courteous. The bed frame was really creeky which made it hard to stay asleep. I was tempted to just place the mattress on the floor.

I’m not a camper, so I was skeptical about how comfortable the tents would be. But I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the tents were. The bed was super comfortable and cozy! Loved the in-tent bathroom. And the view was incredible. It was worth it for the stargazer tents - the stars were incredible!

Sophia and Dom did an excellent job. Sophia (operations manager) was incredibly enjoyable, nice, funny, and articulate.

We were very excited for our first "glamping experience" and looked forward to s\'mores by the fire and stargazing. Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate with our plan. It was cold with rain/snow and completely overcast. Our lack of fire making skills almost caught our tent on fire. But through it all, the staff were the most kind and attentive people. Many guests were not happy with the conditions, but as we sat and listened to music and ate our dinner, we watched every staff member working diligently in trying to still provide the best experience possible by setting up a hot chocolate area, providing free gloves, hot water bottles and extra bedding to guests and just trying their best to deal with the unexpected turn in the weather. The tents are beautiful and our dinner was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the "vibe" of disconnecting and just relaxing. Although this wasn\'t the perfect experience, I would definitely stay at Under Canvas again . Thank you Cain and Mike for being so sweet.

What a beautiful property, I was very impressed with it as a whole, it is definitely camping, fancy camping but it’s camping I wouldn’t put it in a luxury hotel category so make sure you are aware of that when you go. The only complaint I had was that I had a couple interactions with front desk staff where they were somewhat rude to me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the food, although in that area you don’t have many better options so it was ok

I need to get this off my chest. My wife and I were SUPER excited about staying at Under Canvas because of how incredible it looked and we had booked a night leading up to our trip to Las Vegas. On our way to the hotel from LV (which is a 3.5hr drive) we hit a pothole and had a flat tire, upon which point we realized we would not be able to make it to the hotel. Soon as we realized we called Under Canvas up, and spoke to someone very sweet that promised to provide us with a 50% refund at the very least for our troubles. A few days later (after the chaos of situation had subsided) we call Under Canvas to follow up. The "associate director" there essentially tells us that there is no way he can act upon this promise in any way. I even asked for a gift card or credit so I could rebook another time, and he straight up gave me a NO for everything I proposed. $350 CAD right in the drain. You may have a lovely venue, but its sad that you won't take ownership of your word, and work with your guests in a way that would've cemented loyalty. We won't be recommending staying here to any of our friends and family.

All the workers had such a great attitude. That makes a huge difference. The positivity is contagious! The stars were amazing!

Unique experience 20min south of Grand Canyon village. Jaw-dropping night sky.

The property are pubs the area was poorly Signed and so it was difficult to find you at night. There needs to be more visible signage from the main road

The stargazer tent was incredible. The activites on the property, as well as the staff, made for a wonderful experience. We wish we stayed longer! Only "con" would be the distance to grand canyon park (30 minutes), but the pros far outweighed any inconvenience.

Loved our stay here as a base for hiking the Grand Canyon. Easy to get to the park (30 mins by car), amazing experience to sleep in a tent under the stars. Log burner in tent is great as it does get cold at night but this kept us very warm! Staff were super friendly and helpful, although the food service is slow (maybe due to lack of staff/space in the kitchen which could be expected) and expensive for what you get. However, would recommend and will definitely return for sure!

Overall not very considerate or understanding!! Kitchen staff were very kind but the food tasted undercooked. If you plan to cancel make sure it’s before the 30 days of your stay! No refunds! This place made it seem that you aren’t far from attractions and in reality you are, an hour to south part of Grand Canyon. Also wasn’t easy to find! My overall experience is I would never stay again.

First time glamping and this is the way to do it. A great experience. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The common areas are great and the hotel has different activities going on every day: yoga, s’mores, “paint and sip”. The main tent has a great restaurant.

We had a great experience! We had the larger tent with the shower and toilet. Four of us, 3 adults 1 teen stayed comfortably in it. The staff was SO nice! The tent was decorated and well stocked w/towels, blankets... 100% recommend. The only thing we disnt love was the food for dinner. Limited menu w/not a ton our family liked and it was $$$. Other that that we loved this whole experience.

Obviously sleeping a tent under the stars close to the Grand Canyon is a once in a lifetime experience. The food options were quite limited, but having s'mores over fire pits under the milky way is hard to beat.
