Very cute cottage, loved how they were decorated!! It was neat, clean and had everything we needed for a restful week. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor swing in the evenings, but the one thing we would have liked to see was a few picnic tables and perhaps some grills to cook dinner in the beautiful, green outdoor space. We arrived late July, so it was hard to heat our kitchen up to make dinner! Check in and out was very simple and the owner kept us informed, I would stay here again!

The cottage is well maintained and clean. When there was an issue the problem was quickly resolved and the management kept me up dated. Only issue is parking are very muddy after a snowy day.

Amazing little cottages in a great location! We saw a baby fawn with its mom in the morning! The decor was beautiful. The cottages were clean and have AC in both rooms. There is a shared hot tub which was very pretty and relaxing. The hot tub water wasn’t as clean as expected but was still a nice perk. I would stay here again!

Very well laid out property and very clean. Felt very comfortable here and the bathroom was exceptionally well taken care of. I highly recommend staying here. Great location for exploring the town. We brought our bikes and this was a great launching point. The hot tub was clean and we used it a couple of nights.

We always enjoyed staying there one night before the race. Hot tub was definitely a must. Comfortable bed. Close walk to the gas station and short driving distance to the restaurants.

We loved our stay at Spearfish Cottages. The community hot tub was wonderful, and well kept. Area was clean and quiet, convenient to everything Spearfish. It exceeded my expectations!

This was a quiet area of town (residential). We could park 5 feet from our front door, so unloading luggage was easy. We walked a few minutes to the south to a nice restaurant and walked 10 minutes to main street which had a handful of options for restaurants/night life. Nice and clean place with everything we needed. They are old structures but fixed up nice. The only complaint I had was the bathroom sink was very, very small. Again these are old structures fixed up nice and clean. No waiting at a front desk, check in was through text message and they also checked in during our stay. Yes we will be back.

When we walked into the cottage is smelled like burnt bacon grease. The window air conditioners were loud and we were either freezing or sweating. Next to the bed was a dirty sock that didn’t belong to us. The couch had food between the cushions. Location was in a quiet part of town though.

The cottage was perfect for my husband and me. It was exceptionally clean. Bed and sofa were very comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Great stay overall. Perfect for one person. Pillow protectors need to be washed though as they were very stained and odored so I removed them. I mentioned this to the host and got a generic answer so I hope it happens.

The cottage was really cute and served our purpose for a weekend stay. The cottage was clean inside, but the outside steps to the door needs sone TLC. The communication with management was good and appreciated.

Only two small things made this stay good rather than excellent. The bed mattress was pretty hard & the shower didn’t have very hot water. Location & customer service is fsntastic.

What a lovely, cozy, quiet place! Short walk to quite a few great restaurants. Comfy bed. Layout is great, makes the cabin feel more spacious than it actually is. Highly recommended. Spearfish is a great launching pad for outdoor activities.

Clean and convenient but overall disappointing. The bathroom was so small. The shower was approximately 30”square and the sink was half the size of a normal sink. And the bathroom was practically part of the bedroom. The bed was pushed up against the wall so that you could open the bathroom door. Which meant that the person next to the wall had to crawl out of bed. The tv in the bedroom didn’t work. The couch was uncomfortable with no end tables or coffee table. No place to set anything down. No side table in the bedroom either. It was a prefab box set on a slab with everything done on the cheap. The parking was close and the contactless check in was easy. It was more like staying in a travel trailer than a cottage. Overall not a good value. I would never book this place again.

These cottages are just right for 2 people with all of the amenities we appreciate including keurig coffee makers (with k cups provided), mini fridge, and a TV in the bedroom and another in the living room. The small space is used wisely and is very cute. We enjoyed a stroll to the grocery store and then another quick walk to Killians for supper (the steak tips and garlic cheese curds were delicious!). The cottages are closer together than we expected but we never heard any other guests at all. We absolutely plan to come back! (p.s. Don’t miss Blackbird Espresso when you are in town!!)

This BNB option was quite spacious. There was an accommodating kitchen, a large living room, two large bedrooms, and a fairly large bathroom. The area around Spearfish is quite beautiful. This accommodation is in a quiet residential area. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The accommodation we had was in the second floor of the house. It might be difficult to access for those with mobility limitations. The beds were quite comfortable, and the rooms were clean.

The cottage was very nice, a good amount of space. I have two suggestions: 1. Storage space/surface area. There was one luggage rack and no furniture/surface space. We lived out of our suitcases, one on a luggage rack and the others on the floor. The two tiny end tables in the bedroom hold a box of Kleenex and a bottle of water. My boyfriends CPap barely fit on top of one table. There is space for larger tables and hanging the mirror will make is usable. Don't need the old fashioned alarm clock taking up space. There was no surface space in the bathroom for toiletries. How about shelving above the toilet? It was quite awkward drying hair in bedroom with a mirror that was on the floor and styling in the bathroom with a curling iron that had to be placed on the toilet seat. 2. Provide better lighting in the kitchen. The lantern light is not the right choice and is annoyingly bright but only lights up the corner.

The Spearfish Cottages are a great place for a couple to get away for the weekend and explore the Hills. Everything is top notch check in was simple and check out was as well. Can't wait to get back out there and stay again!

Lovely Signature Cottage, nicely decorated, modern kitchen appliances, and great location with easy access to Spearfish parks and nature trails. Excellent communication with owner, would stay again, and highly recommend.

This is our second time staying and we will most likely always check for availability at the cottages before we look anywhere else when we stay in Spearfish. We enjoy our stay and it’s very easy to check in and out. No fuss. The property managers are always helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend

A great deal for the price, more like a small cottage apartment than a typical room travelers are used to, someone older may have a hard time adjusting to no front desk, nobody is there to help you so just follow the instructions and enter the code to get into your room

Nice little cottages. Check in was smooth. Cottage was clean and set up nicely. Close to downtown Spearfish, walkable for sure. Grocery store nearby. Trailhead nearby and walkable. Would stay again.

Let’s start with what wasn’t so good.. hmm, nope, I got nothing. This was an amazing stay and if I could give 10 stars I would. Not only will I stay here on my next visits to the area, it’s the ONLY place we will stay. Property manager Marjorie helpful, her help was instantaneous. It was quiet, comfortable and located perfectly.

The experience was kind of creepy. We received no advance info regarding check in. Got to the listed address and the cottages had a. Different name than where we had booked. After knocking multiple times the maintenance man answered the door. Had to call someone to get out check in info. It just all seemed a bit off

What a lovely, cozy, quiet place! Short walk to quite a few great restaurants. Comfy bed. Layout is great, makes the cabin feel more spacious than it actually is. Highly recommended. Spearfish is a great launching pad for outdoor activities.

Enjoyed our stay very much, cabins located in an area centrally located; close to Black Hills State University, bicycle trails, restaurants. Very quiet and pleasant.

Nice little cottages. Check in was smooth. Cottage was clean and set up nicely. Close to downtown Spearfish, walkable for sure. Grocery store nearby. Trailhead nearby and walkable. Would stay again.

Adorable cottages right by the spearfish river. It’s like living in a tiny house with all the conveniences of home. This property is so close to everything such as the canyon, restaurants, fishing and other services. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Spearfish Cottages during the Sturgis Rally. The cottages were within walking distance to “Da Bus” stop, which was at the city campgrounds. “Da Bus” will take you into Sturgis and back during the rally. There were a few restaurants within walking distance from the cottages, an Irish restaurant and an Indian restaurant. Overall, we had a nice 4 night stay.

Small cozy cabins on the edge of downtown Spearfish. The cabins are quiet and in a good location just couple minutes from downtown Spearfish and a couple block from a local park and stream.

Very cute cottage, loved how they were decorated!! It was neat, clean and had everything we needed for a restful week. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor swing in the evenings, but the one thing we would have liked to see was a few picnic tables and perhaps some grills to cook dinner in the beautiful, green outdoor space. We arrived late July, so it was hard to heat our kitchen up to make dinner! Check in and out was very simple and the owner kept us informed, I would stay here again!

Spearfish Cabins is awesome to stay at! Reasonable, comfortable all the niceties of home for a weary traveler (cook top, oven, fridge, Coffee maker, nice TV’s with good service, great internet). It’s become my home away when I’m in the road. I keep telling other medical travelers to stay there because it’s so nice compared to staying at a Motel/Hotel. PLUS… awesome outdoor hot tub with privacy fence.

Property owners were easy to reach and get feedback quickly. It was easy to find and close to everything in Spearfish. The restaurants were good and Spearfish Canyon is close. The drive is beautiful!!

This was a great place to stay quiet snd had everything you need down to the cute pictures in the wallls to make you feel at home. The management staff even made restaurant recommendations for the area.

These cottages are just right for 2 people with all of the amenities we appreciate including keurig coffee makers (with k cups provided), mini fridge, and a TV in the bedroom and another in the living room. The small space is used wisely and is very cute. We enjoyed a stroll to the grocery store and then another quick walk to Killians for supper (the steak tips and garlic cheese curds were delicious!). The cottages are closer together than we expected but we never heard any other guests at all. We absolutely plan to come back! (p.s. Don’t miss Blackbird Espresso when you are in town!!)

I love staying at these little cottages!! They are clean and have just the right amount of space for me! The location is close to downtown and the neighborhood is quiet! This unit did not have a dishwasher and only thing I missed was paper towels or Kleenex!

We really enjoyed the location of this cottage! The area was quiet, convenient to the college, and we appreciated that there were no unpleasant smells. The furnishings were cute and comfortable, especially the bed, large TV, and little dining area. That said, the cottage felt like it had been very lived in. There were cobwebs and spiders throughout the cottage—mostly daddy long legs, who apparently considered themselves long-term guests. The largest one even took up residence above the toilet for most of our stay. 😂 The bathroom floor tile and grout, and the shower pan were visibly dirty/stained, the shower curtain was growing mold, paint was rubbed off in several areas, and the area rug was stained and starting to fall apart. The dishes were not clean when we arrived, and the refrigerator also needed a good scrub. The two AC units are another consideration. They are extremely loud when running (especially the one right next to the bed), but without them the cottage heats up very quickly. Parking was also frustrating. If the occupants of cottage 9 park in front of their unit, it can block the parking area for this cottage, leaving you potentially trapped in. Definitely something to be aware of. Overall, we appreciated the location, quiet setting, and comfortable furnishings, but the cottage could really benefit from a thorough deep cleaning and some maintenance. With a little TLC, this could be a really charming place to stay!
