The accommodation was lovely but there’s no where to sit just hard wooden seats. Also the pool wasn’t available. The staff pick you up 2km from the lodges as the road is bad but that means you’re limited in what you can do without a car.

Dette ble for oss et veldig spesielt opphold. Vi var ikke forberedt på å bo utenfor allfarvei. Det var kun mulig å spise på hotellet på en utendørs terrasse. Det var veldig stille der. Vi ble allikevel litt fanget av stedets buddhistiske eierskap med stillhet, vegetarmat, ingen alkohol. Tenkte dette ville fått meg til å mislike stedet, men det var ganske OK på en uventet måte.

Opplevelsen i Wadula Safari var noe utenom det vanlige. Det er nok ikke stedet man reiser om man trenger et høyt tempo hele dagen, da det er ganske isolert. Men om man ønsker å ha et sted som man kan senke skuldrene å slappe av er dette helt perfekt. Eieren Dulaj sto til service hele tiden, og var hyggelig og svært imøtekommende. Han ordnet transporter, safari og andre ting vi ba om. Forbedringspotensialet i våre øyne ligger vel i at de ikke serverer kjøtt på restauranten, og heller ikke har en bar, så man kan få kjøpt seg et glass vin eller en øl. Dette løste han greit med å reise inn til byen for å handle inn alkohol for oss. Sengene var nok i overkant harde, så søvnen ble nok litt dårlig før en tidlig start på safari. Savnet også et par stoler plassert i resorten's egen lille oase som man kunne sittet å sett solnedgangen ved vannet med krokodiller og vannbøfler.

The hotel and staff are amazing! They were so attentive to our needs and everything was so clean. The hotel had great communication with us through the Expedia app. We able to meet at a local temple for a late hour pick up. The drive in by jeep as the hotel is on the edge of the park! I can’t wait to go again!

The whole experience with Chamith and Dulash was absolutely perfect, from minute 1. Chamit was in contact with us since we left Ella, just to make sure that we were OK and that our arrival to his place was without any incident. We hired 2 safaris, the first one on the day of our arrival and the second one on the next day. And, of course, everything was also perfect. The food they prepared for us was world-class, including breakfast and dinner. They were so warm that we felt at home. And of course, room was pristine when we arrived. Room and all of the rest was clean and neat. I would stay at Wadula 100 times if needed.

This place was absolutely amazing. I actually had no idea what i was getting myself into staying in the jungle but it was truly peaceful. it was off the road quite a bit so they took us in a tuk tuk to get to our room. we then traveled a short bit with a flashlight. the room was very clean and actually had all the amenities .

Las instalaciones sin muy bellas, junto al parque nacional. La comida es exquisita, la mejor comida que hemos hecho en Sri Lanka, además tienen un menú amplio. Las habitaciones inpecables y nuevas! En fin, recomiendo ampliamente!!! 👌👌👌

We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful small resort in the national park. You were surrounded by palm trees and nature and right on a lake. The bungalow was lovely, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable bed. We were able to walk to the lake and watch the sunset which was memorable. The host was very friendly and welcoming and arranged our morning safari.

Very beautiful place. Very quiet, green and glorious forest around it. The lake next door is beautiful. The sunset from the restaurant was beautiful. One slight issue I found was big red ants in bathroom (didn't come to bedroom and didn't trouble when in bathroom but was concerning). Rest everything was fantastic. Dulaj and Chamita were wonderful hosts

The room is a spacious cabin and it’s beautiful. There is a nearby lake where we saw wild water buffalo and wild peacocks. The food in the hotel is a little pricey but well worth it. The best vegetable curries I have eaten in Sri Lanka! This hotel is a hidden gem!

The rooms were comfortable with a/c and hot water showers. The staff were outstanding. They picked us up from the main road in the dark at 11pm in a Safari jeep and they drove us and all our luggage to the lodge, as our driver’s buss would get bogged on the muddy road. The chef was very friendly and cooked delicious food for us. The Safari was exceptional. We got very lucky to see leopards. One of them is called Lucas, a mature male leopard. The king of the jungle. Apparently a rare sight. We also spotted elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, lots of birds and deer. It was a memorable experience.

The rooms are lovely and fairly new, only opening in 2019. The finish is excellent and they are set amongst the jungle with a view of the lake. We arrived late in the afternoon so probably did not get to make the most of it. We had to be driven down a dirt track on a Tuk Tuk, about 2km, as the road was not fit for our driver. Jamit was lovely and were were offered freshly made juice on arrival. Good access to safar Whilst the room was spacious, clean and modern there was no storage space which was Ok for a one night stay but might not be ideal for those staying longer. Also the bed was rock hard, very uncomfortable. We had Dinner on site, which was the only option due to the dirt track and general access to the local town. It was a lovely meal of curries and rice, though some of it was cold. It was eaten in a lovely setting under a coconut-leafed hut with paraffin lamps for lights, very intimate. However, in the morning we were given the bill in USD (baring in mind we hadn’t been given a menu or cost) and the meal was 3x what we have paid anywhere else. This was apparently due to the rapid inflation currently in the country. It wasn’t that the food or experience was not worth it, it was just the manner in which it was done. It was unexpected and out of keeping given everywhere else is facing the same issues and whilst we have seen some price increases (which we fully understand) this seemed excessive and due to the lack of other options, opportunistic on their behalf.

This place is wonderful. The 2 brothers really go all out to take care of you. They have a western menu and food is plentiful. The rooms sit in front of a surprise beautiful lake inside the park. Wifi and TV were not expected so glad to have, as well as a spacious bathroom with Toiletries. They picked us up in a tuk tuk and gave door service no where did they lack service. Really nice owners.

Amazing, clean, fully appointed “cottages” - the grounds are on the lake which was explosive with wildlife and great views. Right on the fence line of Udawalawe National Park. The food was EXCEPTIONAL and the staff were some of the kindest people we have ever met. (Big hugs to “Chef”!!! They set up an amazing safari for us where we had THREE leopard sightings - beyond our wildest expectations!!

The accommodation is off-roads, 2-3 kms, needing a 4-wheeler drive (which the staff will pick you up on) to access. It is a bit remote, and takes a narrow dirt path, so I recommend arriving before dusk. The rooms are cute & comfy. There are telephone networks in the property, so Internet isn't an issue. While getting off the 4-wheeler safari jeep, I missed a step (my fault) and ended up spraining my ankle, hurting my ligament. My ankle was pretty swollen, and I needed help to hop to my cottage. I was pretty bummed out - but, the staff totally turned around the situation for me. - Chamit and Nisal immediately got us ice & first aid to reduce the swelling. - They arranged for me to see the nearest doctor (around 10 kms away). Chamit drove us to the doctor. The doctor didn't have an x-ray machine and Chamit drove us another 30 kms to the hospital with the nearest x-ray machine. Thankfully, I didn't have a fracture and it was just a ligament tear. Chamit drove us back 40 kms to the cottage. That night's dinner at our cottage was the best food I have ever eaten in Sri Lanka. I was able to go on the safari the next day and see peacocks, alligators, wild buffalos, monkeys, deers and leopard. The food packed by the staff for the trip was delicious. This story would have been us being stuck in forest land with a swollen ankle not knowing what to do - I deeply owe it to Nisal, Dulaj & Chamit for their calm, patience, kindness & hospitality and being a source of strength!

The hotel and staff are amazing! They were so attentive to our needs and everything was so clean. The hotel had great communication with us through the Expedia app. We able to meet at a local temple for a late hour pick up. The drive in by jeep as the hotel is on the edge of the park! I can’t wait to go again!

The rooms were comfortable with a/c and hot water showers. The staff were outstanding. They picked us up from the main road in the dark at 11pm in a Safari jeep and they drove us and all our luggage to the lodge, as our driver’s buss would get bogged on the muddy road. The chef was very friendly and cooked delicious food for us. The Safari was exceptional. We got very lucky to see leopards. One of them is called Lucas, a mature male leopard. The king of the jungle. Apparently a rare sight. We also spotted elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, lots of birds and deer. It was a memorable experience.

The best service in Sri Lanka! We stayed one night in this property in the middle of the jungle. The staff is amazing - from pick up, through check in and until check out, they treated us like nowhere in Sri Lanka. They prepared an awsame dinner, took us for an hour tour around the property to explore the wildlife, organized a wonderful safari for us and even brought us things we needed from the shop in the city! The room si super clean and you will find there everything you need. A couple of practical advices: inform the property before arrival so that they can pick you up. Your driver won’t be able to go that far with the car. Buy the things you need before checking in, going back to the city is not an option in the night. But, you will be privileged to enjoy the wildlife and the nature and see some of the most beautiful scenaries and animals just a couple of steps from your room!

This place is wonderful. The 2 brothers really go all out to take care of you. They have a western menu and food is plentiful. The rooms sit in front of a surprise beautiful lake inside the park. Wifi and TV were not expected so glad to have, as well as a spacious bathroom with Toiletries. They picked us up in a tuk tuk and gave door service no where did they lack service. Really nice owners.

The accommodation is off-roads, 2-3 kms, needing a 4-wheeler drive (which the staff will pick you up on) to access. It is a bit remote, and takes a narrow dirt path, so I recommend arriving before dusk. The rooms are cute & comfy. There are telephone networks in the property, so Internet isn't an issue. While getting off the 4-wheeler safari jeep, I missed a step (my fault) and ended up spraining my ankle, hurting my ligament. My ankle was pretty swollen, and I needed help to hop to my cottage. I was pretty bummed out - but, the staff totally turned around the situation for me. - Chamit and Nisal immediately got us ice & first aid to reduce the swelling. - They arranged for me to see the nearest doctor (around 10 kms away). Chamit drove us to the doctor. The doctor didn't have an x-ray machine and Chamit drove us another 30 kms to the hospital with the nearest x-ray machine. Thankfully, I didn't have a fracture and it was just a ligament tear. Chamit drove us back 40 kms to the cottage. That night's dinner at our cottage was the best food I have ever eaten in Sri Lanka. I was able to go on the safari the next day and see peacocks, alligators, wild buffalos, monkeys, deers and leopard. The food packed by the staff for the trip was delicious. The accommodation was lovely but there’s no where to sit just hard wooden seats. Also the pool wasn’t available. The staff pick you up 2km from the lodges as the road is bad but that means you’re limited in what you can do without a car.

The rooms are lovely and fairly new, only opening in 2019. The finish is excellent and they are set amongst the jungle with a view of the lake. We arrived late in the afternoon so probably did not get to make the most of it. We had to be driven down a dirt track on a Tuk Tuk, about 2km, as the road was not fit for our driver. Jamit was lovely and were were offered freshly made juice on arrival. Good access to safar Whilst the room was spacious, clean and modern there was no storage space which was Ok for a one night stay but might not be ideal for those staying longer. Also the bed was rock hard, very uncomfortable. We had Dinner on site, which was the only option due to the dirt track and general access to the local town. It was a lovely meal of curries and rice, though some of it was cold. It was eaten in a lovely setting under a coconut-leafed hut with paraffin lamps for lights, very intimate. However, in the morning we were given the bill in USD (baring in mind we hadn’t been given a menu or cost) and the meal was 3x what we have paid anywhere else. This was apparently due to the rapid inflation currently in the country. It wasn’t that the food or experience was not worth it, it was just the manner in which it was done. It was unexpected and out of keeping given everywhere else is facing the same issues and whilst we have seen some price increases (which we fully understand) this seemed excessive and due to the lack of other options, opportunistic on their behalf.

At end of a 4x4 dirt trail, the brothers have worked hard during difficult times to create a small high-end eco-friendly resort in the woods where monkeys play and peacocks crow. We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful small resort in the national park. You were surrounded by palm trees and nature and right on a lake. The bungalow was lovely, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable bed. We were able to walk to the lake and watch the sunset which was memorable. The host was very friendly and welcoming and arranged our morning safari.

The room is a spacious cabin and it’s beautiful. There is a nearby lake where we saw wild water buffalo and wild peacocks. The food in the hotel is a little pricey but well worth it. The best vegetable curries I have eaten in Sri Lanka! This hotel is a hidden gem!

Las instalaciones sin muy bellas, junto al parque nacional. La comida es exquisita, la mejor comida que hemos hecho en Sri Lanka, además tienen un menú amplio. Las habitaciones inpecables y nuevas! En fin, recomiendo ampliamente!!! 👌👌👌

Amazing, clean, fully appointed “cottages” - the grounds are on the lake which was explosive with wildlife and great views. Right on the fence line of Udawalawe National Park. The food was EXCEPTIONAL and the staff were some of the kindest people we have ever met. (Big hugs to “Chef”!!! They set up an amazing safari for us where we had THREE leopard sightings - beyond our wildest expectations!!

Opplevelsen i Wadula Safari var noe utenom det vanlige. Det er nok ikke stedet man reiser om man trenger et høyt tempo hele dagen, da det er ganske isolert. Men om man ønsker å ha et sted som man kan senke skuldrene å slappe av er dette helt perfekt. Eieren Dulaj sto til service hele tiden, og var hyggelig og svært imøtekommende. Han ordnet transporter, safari og andre ting vi ba om. Forbedringspotensialet i våre øyne ligger vel i at de ikke serverer kjøtt på restauranten, og heller ikke har en bar, så man kan få kjøpt seg et glass vin eller en øl. Dette løste han greit med å reise inn til byen for å handle inn alkohol for oss. Sengene var nok i overkant harde, så søvnen ble nok litt dårlig før en tidlig start på safari. Savnet også et par stoler plassert i resorten's egen lille oase som man kunne sittet å sett solnedgangen ved vannet med krokodiller og vannbøfler.

Séjour incroyable, nous avons passé deux nuits formidables. Endroit reculé dans la jungle et très proche d’un lac. Le personnel nous a fait une visite les deux soirs et nous avons pu observer des crocodiles et de nombreux singes et oiseaux. L’hôtel a organisé notre safari qui fut très réussi. Nourriture très bonne avec service de qualité.

I had a wonderful stay. The surroundings are beautiful, with palm trees and a lake right in front of the room. It is the most beautiful location I have experienced so far in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfectly organized. The food was excellent. The curry was the best I have had in Sri Lanka, and the fresh breakfast was delicious. The room and bathroom are in a private little bungalow. Everything was spacious, spotless, modern, and very well maintained. The room had air conditioning, complimentary drinking water, shampoo, and a wide selection of toiletries. I highly recommend this place and would happily stay here again.

The hotel is overall a wonderful experience, truly allowing you to feel part of nature while enjoying excellent vegetarian cuisine and complete tranquility. There is not much to do at the hotel itself, which is exactly the point, it’s the perfect place to unwind, relax, and connect with nature. Yala safaris can also be conveniently arranged directly through the hotel. The food and breakfasts are excellent. The service is smooth and professional, with very attentive staff. The rooms are clean and fully equipped with modern standards.
