So this was one of the scariest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The floor was very slanted and I told my husband to stay by the bed because I was fearful of the floor coming down. There were two rooms under us with piece of wood instead of doors with padlock s. So let start from the beginning. They didn’t even clean the hand rails There were cob webs everywhere. The beds were fine. The showers didn’t work properly and there were two flies in it. There was no dead bolt but other than that. It’s is a flea bag but probably the cheapest in this town.

The property is run down and under construction. The first room i had to move a wheelbarrow so i could get to the door and inside. Once inside the bathroom door was not the right size door so it wouldnt close and the mini fridge was broken. They then moved me to a room that was not completed with NO phone, no blowdryer, no plastic cups or promised coffee maker, and wifi didnt reach the room they put me in. The floor was peeling apart and was taped back down with clear packing tape. Water was cold and i had to give myself a sponge bath in the sink. Worst experience ever! Dont go here!!!

Everything was great for what we needed. There's even a pathway down to a grassy area right on the Housatonic River - great place to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning. Only complaint was having to wait 10 minutes to check-in because no one was in the office when we arrived (3pm).

Room was sub par. No closet or place to hang clothes. No hooks in bathroom. We could see light through the underside of the room door, so would be chilly in the winter. No dead bolt on the inside. Very minimally furnished, and the condition of some of the furniture was not appealing…stained cushion on the desk chair for example. We looked out over Route 7, and there was a lot of traffic noise. There was plenty of good hot water for the bathroom. The mattress was very « firm » which I happen to prefer but it was not what many people would want. Room and bathroom were very clean. Handrails on the outside stairs were secure but so dirty I did not want to use them. There was beaten-up furniture on the upstairs porch and dirty ashtrays on the stairs.The best thing was the very reasonable price, and that we could get a room for one night over a three- day weekend! But we were happy to check out early the next morning.

This property is so unkept, outside is overgrown, the actual parking lot has weeds growing through the pavement, the inside is falling apart, paint feeling off the ceilings, holes in walls that were fixed with filler but sanded or painted over. Cant believe this place is on expedia.com

The place was clean and comfortable. However their key system was down so we couldn't get our own key. We had to have the staff open the door when we came back. I found that pretty weird, luckily i was with my husband so i felt safe having another man open my room. The other issue i had was that they left the room window open so when we went in it was freezing and I mean it felt like i was outside in below zero with no coat. It took like 2 hours to warm up.

The room was dirty when we arrived. The shower was disgustingly, the sink was not clean, the room smelled funky, the doors and walls were not clean. I had to ask that the room be cleaned and I was in the room while it was done. We had no choice but to stay there but I don’t recommend it to anyone else.

We were very disappointed with the Maple Leaf. Walking into the room we could tell there was a mildew/cigarette smell. The toilet jiggled when we sat on it and stood up. the sheets were stained as well as one of the pillows. I did not use that pillow, and I even brought my own pillowcases. There were a few cigarette burns on the bottom sheet. We just felt so gross that we didn't sleep under the covers. We had reservations for two nights but we could not continue our stay there.

The room was absolutely filthy, the mini fridge was leaking water, the TV didn't work, the walls were paper thin, so we heard our neighbors all night. We ended up cutting our trip short because we got no sleep and didn't want to touch anything. Even the towels looked used, sheets stained, mold on the bathroom ceiling. If I could give zero stars I would.

Dust and stains on all of the walls, spiderwebs, a giant stain on the only chair in the room. And to top it off, there was mold stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. I took pictures of everything, and I am definitely going to report this.

The floor hasn't been washed in years. The shower curtain has red mold on the bottom. The toilet wouldn't flush.properly. Had to have owner fix but still didn"t work. The toilet seat was not attached to the bottom correctly. swung from side to side. My boyfriend had to clean the air conditioner filter because it didn't maintain cool air and didn't want bacteria flying in the air. About to inches of dirt on the filter. Cigarette burn in the blanket. I took my socks off on the bed and walked into the bathroom. When I came back, the bottom of my feet felt weird. They were black from dirt!! Filthy filthy floor. They should be ashamed of themselves and the board of health should be involved!! DO NOT RENT!!!

We chose to stay at the Maple Leaf as it was conveniently located for an event we were attending and we weren’t anticipating spending too much time there. For the rate we paid I would say the place was adequate. Our room was tired and overdue refurbishment but was clean.

Waited quite awhile for someone to come to the registration counter. They didn’t give me the guest wi-fi password, so I tried to call the front desk for it, but the phone in the room didn’t work. A/C was too loud to sleep, but otherwise room was satisfactory.

Old property. Room had new flooring in sleeping area, bathroom had numerous cracked tiles. New bedspreads old sheets. No bedside lamp. Almost $300 for 2 nights. Feel it is pricey for condition.

I was here for my best friends wedding. There was a fire blocking the entire street, causing a traffic jam for Ubers to get to me. The owner, out of the goodness of his heart, offered to take me to my friends wedding so that I would not miss it! I couldn’t thank him enough for going out of his way to drive me to the venue. Thank you so much!!!

Waited quite awhile for someone to come to the registration counter. They didn’t give me the guest wi-fi password, so I tried to call the front desk for it, but the phone in the room didn’t work. A/C was too loud to sleep, but otherwise room was satisfactory.

Older man at the front desk super rude and short. I guess to be expected, the place isn’t great. He seemed inconvenienced by anyone speaking to him, if you wanted classier guests, be kinder to people. Probably won’t come back unless desperate

This is a very comfortable, no-frills hotel. The staff was great and went out of their way for me. I've stayed here several times, and plan to stay here again. Great motel and great price.

It was a nice quiet hotel stay. No one bothered us and the staff is over-all amazing. There's also a nice lake to walk by to. Environment is great, too. Would consider staying again!

What you’d expect from the lower cost. Mattress was a bit hard; room definitely shows it’s age but it was clean. Good location with lots to do in the area.

Everything was great for what we needed. There's even a pathway down to a grassy area right on the Housatonic River - great place to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning. Only complaint was having to wait 10 minutes to check-in because no one was in the office when we arrived (3pm).

We chose to stay at the Maple Leaf as it was conveniently located for an event we were attending and we weren’t anticipating spending too much time there. For the rate we paid I would say the place was adequate. Our room was tired and overdue refurbishment but was clean.

Room was sub par. No closet or place to hang clothes. No hooks in bathroom. We could see light through the underside of the room door, so would be chilly in the winter. No dead bolt on the inside. Very minimally furnished, and the condition of some of the furniture was not appealing…stained cushion on the desk chair for example. We looked out over Route 7, and there was a lot of traffic noise. There was plenty of good hot water for the bathroom. The mattress was very « firm » which I happen to prefer but it was not what many people would want. Room and bathroom were very clean. Handrails on the outside stairs were secure but so dirty I did not want to use them. There was beaten-up furniture on the upstairs porch and dirty ashtrays on the stairs.The best thing was the very reasonable price, and that we could get a room for one night over a three- day weekend! But we were happy to check out early the next morning.

My stay was wonderful and Rocky at the desk was great! I admit that I booked this stay hastily after realizing that most of western CT was already sold out. After confirming I saw several negative reviews on this site. At first, I was concerned, but I quickly noticed that those remarks were all 3-5 years old. Maple Leaf has a new owner and the rooms have been renovated. No, it’s not the Marriott or Hilton, but my experience was wonderful. Everything was clean. The river walk at the rear of the property is absolutely beautiful. The Maple Leaf is a steal

Stay here to visit family nearby for a few days. Nice place just outside city limits fairly quiet. Some of the tables in our room were too big, which made it difficult to get to the refrigerator but besides that it was a great stay. The couple that runs it is very friendly & polite.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE 10/10 REVIEWS! I don't know how much the hotel paid for those, but this is possibly the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Broken down vending machine sitting empty in the lot, siding falling off the building and the room was very clearly smoked in, on top of dead bugs on the floor and the window blinds falling down. We walked out immediately and found another place to stay.

Appreciated having a tile floor instead of carpeting. Would love to see the floors cleaned well and have sheets that do not have holes or stains. And it seems like a great idea to create a seating area that is comfortable by the river (as that could be a real selling feature). The river view was lovely and peaceful.
