Fitzsimons Hotel Temple Bar

We had an excellent stay at Fitzsimons hotel. The location was great, really central with all attractions and amenities within walking distance and right in the middle of temple bar. There was also a great pub and roof bar at the hotel. The room was spacious and clean with fab views over the river. The reception was staffed 24/7 and the staff were helpful with any questions that we had. They also took our bags while we went sightseeing after check out and this was free of charge. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

Couple visiting Dublin. Stayed for 2 nights. You are at the center of all the entertainment. The bar downstairs was amazing and just a few steps to tons of amazing pubs and restaurants. Would highly recommend if you’re there for a good time! Cheers !

Yes, it was noisy at times but such is the trade off for a premium location. It was well within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, including the meeting points for several tours. The breakfast was quite good in the true Irish style, made to order. We went to the bar one evening for dinner and live entertainment; we were not disappointed. Overall, I would return to this hotel if I return to Dublin.

Fantastic staff. Rooftop bar was cool. Place was clean. Balcony overlooking temple bar area also was a lot of fun. That said, the comments on paper thin walls are true. You can hear everything from your neighbors, the ground shaking when people walk in the hallways. It is not just the noise from Temple Bar. It was perfect for a girls trip esp since we knew what we were getting into. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is not the right neighborhood for you. And most def not the right hotel.

Couldn’t fault the location at all. Extremely conveniently located for temple bar and surrounding attractions. Whilst the hotel was above the bar and below the roof terrace of fitzsimons, this came with loud noise on the Friday and Saturday night until around 2/3am but worth it for the location and was expected! Room itself was clean, bed was comfy, and desk was 24/7 check in which was needed for us arriving late.

Perfect position for a loud nightlife based stay.

This is a great , affordable hotel for those of you who are on the go or on a short trip. Staff are extremely accommodating & helpful when It comes to having room cleaned to scheduling a taxi. Our room was on the third floor near the rooftop bar and It didn’t bother us. (We stayed out late but even when we were back in our room It wasn’t a major issue). I would say the hotel room lacks a “cozy” feel which was what was missing when my friends and I fell ill one day of trip. Our stay was fairly lengthy though (8 days) so I was longing for that comfortable feeling . Thank you for the stay Fitzsimons!

This hotel is right in the middle of a high energy area, which was super fun for us. Extremely convenient to walk to all major tourist attractions. We had booked an air conditioned room but there was no air conditioner or bathroom fan, which wasn’t great. The walls are paper thin so you need to be prepared for that…bring earplugs! Staff was great and it was clean.

Far too much road noise and we were on the throes floor! Uncomfortable beds. No AC. No drinking water in the room. Kettles baked in limescale. More negatives than positives

My room had a terrible odor, like sulfur. I requested a new room and wasn’t accommodated. I couldn’t open the windows. The whole hallway smelled badly. One of the staff confirmed the odor. The staff were very nice but the odor was terrible.

Great for one night stay with proximity to local sites. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was close to kitchen for neighboring restaurant and the room smelled of fried food.

A wnderful find, right in the centre of Dublin! Hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas; receptionist friendly and efficient. Really brilliant stay in a spotlessly clean and completely comfortable room. Shower was great, and we had tea / coffee making facilities. Slept soundly and enjoyed hearty, varied breakfast which was included in the very reasonable room rate. Can't wait to return!

Short but sweet stay, room was lovely. Clean with an amazing view over the river. I have never slept in a comfier bed. Staff all very friendly and helpful and noise from downstairs was not as loud as expected. Didn’t stop me nodding off almost immediately Would definitely stay again

Clean and comfortable room, friendly staff as well. Of course it’s noisy because of the location, but it’s worth it if you want to be right in the heart of Temple Bar.

My husband and I stayed in the Fitzsimons Hotel for 5 nights, and went home feeling like we had had no sleep what so ever. The noise outside was kind of expected, but we did assume we would be able to keep the windows closed during the night, and just have the A/C on. There was no A/C or any kind of temperature control. The room (with the windows open) was close to 30C degrees at night, and the air got so stuffy that we couldn't breathe, and we kept waking up not being able to breathe. The partying outside went on until 5am, so the little sleep we got was mostly in the mornings. Because of the air being so stuffed, we didn't feel like we were able to wake up until we left the hotel. For the last two nights we bought fans (yes, multiple) to put in the room and use for circulation. It helped a little, but c'mon, really?? We, as guests, have to track down a store that sells fans, and purchase to be able to sleep in the room? We did tell a woman in the reception about this, and asked what we could do about it. She told us that they have had several complaints about the same thing, but that there was nothing that could be done. If a hotel gets several complaints about the same thing, why would they not do something about it? Install A/C, or just purchase some fans like we did and put in the rooms. The hotel seemed newly renovated, I don't understand why this issue was not fixed. As a last note, had the hotel been really cheap, the case could be made to keep it as is. It was not!

The room itself wasn't bad, we had a broken toilet seat when we arrived, and they quickly fixed it. However, we were put in a room on the first floor located right above the band. The floors and the walls and the windows are paper thin. All the noise carried on long after the bars ended, with the patrons stumbling up and down the hallways and in their rooms making a lot of noise. Maybe it would've been different if we had been given a room on a higher floor. We paid quite a bit to stay there three nights and got absolutely no rest. All they would tell us is that they couldn't move us to another room because they were fully booked. We also paid for the breakfast which was not good either. I definitely do not recommend staying here unless you're just there to party and stay up until 4 AM in the morning and sleep all day. If that is the goal, then it's a great location

The room was hot with no air circulation

Fitzsimons is a great hotel if you’re looking to be out all night and party. It’s directly above a bar that plays live music and directly across from another bar that plays live music. Both are performing until nearly 3 am, and the walls are very thin, so it’s fairly hard to sleep if you are trying to sleep before 3:30. The location is phenomenal and it was very clean and tidy, but it was just way too loud for what I prefer, including having noisy neighbors that bang on doors at 2 in the morning, just for fun.

Room was very small and crowded and no a/c. Bathroom was nice. Windows didn’t open much, so no ventilation.

Oh my gosh! We really had no idea we choose such a great location in the Temple bar neighborhood with such great character. We were lucky enough to get a top corner room & could go out in the balcony & view Temple Bar!

Staff were great to deal with, 3pm was my check-in time, I arrived at 10am, they put my luggage in a locked room, that gave me great ease until my check-in, breakfast was fantastic. I will be going back.

The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful and the room was up to standard. Before choosing to stay here you should know this hotel is in the heart of Temple Bar where there is live music playing until 2am every night, fully audible from the room with the windows closed. Additionally, before arrival someone from the hotel named Celia reached out to me through Hotels.com claiming that stays longer than 3 nights booked through Hotels.com (ours was 5) were to incur an additional 265€ surcharge upon check in. Thankfully Hotels.com customer service assured me the room was already paid for and I should not pay this extra fee. I was firm with the hotel that I would not be paying it and they did not ask again.

The room was very noisy and you could hear the noise from the bar until 3 am. People staying at the hotel banging on doors after the bar closed…impossible to get a good nights sleep. We also received several emails asking for additional money for our stay. The first email said that there were additional charges for booking 3 rooms. When i asked the fitzsimons about it they asked me to message them off platform. They asked for hundreds of additional euros in charges. I asked them to provide information from hotels.com about these charges and they then indicated that the email was sent in error. The second email asked us to check in and indicated that we still owed on the rooms. When i emailed them and said that we were paid in full( i could provide the statements) the fitzsimons said it was sent in error. I felt that there is a scam for additional money from the Fitzsimons.

Good points: -Central location -Clean, modern room -Reception looked after bags before check in Bad Points: -Upon arriving at 1300, one of the ladies behind reception continued to chop on her chicken wings, something which I would suggest was done in a private room, not infront of customers. -Check in took a very long time. Big queue. -Very noisy outside at night (expected due to area) -Heating in the bathroom was on MAX and we were unable to adjust it. This meant the room was unbearably hot. Called reception and their solution was to open the window. The noise would have made it impossible to sleep with the window open. So our options were to attempt to sleep in a sauna or attempt to sleep in a less hot sauna, but with deafening noise coming in from outside. -Their website states they will look after luggage after check out and until departure from Dublin. We asked for this, being confident as they looked after the bags the day before (check in), only to be told no, there wasn’t enough space (two small rucksacks). This completely scuppered our plans for the day. -Breakfast was very small portions and tasted average. Only realised once we’d finished they’d missed off bacon.

Location is brilliant, just a shame about the staff on desk. Be aware they ask for €100 deposit on check in for the room.. when I queried this the lady on reception was quite rude and spoke over me when I queried it stating it does advise this several occasions throughout the booking, although when I looked on my booking the small print states, ‘the hotel may be subject to charges adhering to their own policies’.. just worth baring in mind. Room was ok, basic enough, tea and coffee facilities which is a nice touch. Walls are paper thin and you are able to hear next door talking and the music downstairs in the bar which we weren’t bothered about but it’s worth noting as the music goes on till past midnight. The lady on check out was much friendlier and we had a much better experience with her. Very polite and allowed us to keep our bags there free of charge before our late night flight as we were informed usually we would have to pay. Wouldn’t stay here again purely for the service and rudeness we experienced during check in but if you’re after a rowdy couples holiday with good location and entertainment it’s good. Just a shame about our experience with a member of staff. Again just highlighting it’s worth baring in mind the €100 euro deposit for your room on top of your booking.

This hotel was way overpriced for the quality of the room. The staff was not very friendly, especially a girl at check out, straight up rude. Almost immediately after check-in our sink clogged, and never drained. I reported it that night to the staff and they said there was nothing they could do. I checked out and showed photos of the sink clogged to the front desk girl and she was very rude about it. They also told me they would validate parking but they do not. Also in my initial booking I booked a full size and a single bed and did not get it at check in, and my additional friend had to find another hotel. They also advertised in my booking that the incidental was €100 and at check in they decided they wanted it to be €150. The room was also very low quality. The only good thing was the location. Everything else was terrible. Way too much money for such a terrible experience.

Great location for bars, restaurants and shopping. However, it is very loud being so close to temple bar which was fine for us but something to be aware of!

It was close convenient to all the pubs eaters the famous Temple pub Transportation from Dublin Airport will stop you almost at the front door.

Great location

The location is perfect for exploring the Temple Bar area. The hotel was very clean, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok, we didnt have hand soap in our bathroom and our room was never serviced. There is shower gel provided. No air conditioning, it was unseasonably warm when we visited. Beds were pretty comfortable. People were hollering in the streets all night celebrating. This was an adult only vacation making this hotel a perfect spot.

The reception staff were very good and helpful in regards to any information about areas to be in. The room was clean but the water for the shower was low(felt like it was restricted?). The location was very, very central to Temple bar-very noisy so be warned (we stayed in room 207 on the corner. Great view! Breakfast as a large Irish was OK if you like crunchy bacon and tasteless sausages 😁. All in all not a bad choice to be fare.
